Parents' Love: My Childhood Sweethearts with Jiang Weidong

More than half a year has passed since Jiang Weidong left. Although he has been sending a letter every week without fail, he only reports good news and never bad news, and there is no indication of when he will return.

Every time Lin Wangshu replied to his letter, she would insist on taking a recent photo and sending it to him.

This strange behavior practically single-handedly supported the entire photo studio; the owner treated her like a god of wealth every time he saw her.

Except for the occasional trip back to school to stay, Ya Ning spent the rest of her time living with Lin Wangshu.

During lunch that day, Ya Ning mysteriously said to Lin Wangshu, "Big sister, guess who I ran into when I went to the bookstore today?"

Lin Wangshu couldn't guess, so she chewed on her steamed bun and pondered for a while before asking curiously, "Who did you meet?"

"I met An Ran!"

Lin Wangshu was greatly disappointed after hearing this. "Ouyang Anran? Her home is in Qingdao. What's so strange about meeting her?"

"Do you know who her current boyfriend is?" Ya Ning continued to keep him in suspense.

After thinking for a while, Lin Wangshu gave an answer that even she found absurd, "It's not still Jiang Changyi, is it?"

"Big sister, you're amazing! It's him! He came out of there!" Ya Ning looked at Lin Wangshu with admiration. "When An Ran told me, I couldn't believe it."

“No.” Ya Ning shook her head and said angrily, “That ingrate Ouyang Anran, I’m not going to talk to her about this. I’ve barely paid any attention to her, but she’s the one who keeps talking to me about this and that.”

Ya Ning originally liked her cousin An Ran quite a bit, but ever since she learned that An Ran was with Jiang Changyi, the person her family disliked the most, Ya Ning couldn't even stand her anymore.

"However, she did seem a bit off today. She seemed to be trying to please me on purpose and kept asking about our family."

At this point, Ya Ning frowned, puzzled, and asked, "Big sister, why do you think she's doing this? Could it be that she wants Mom to forgive her and wants me to put in a good word for her?"

Seeing this, Lin Wangshu quickly comforted her, "Alright, don't get angry over unimportant people. By the way, have you packed your things? We're going back to the island tomorrow."

Anjie celebrated her fiftieth birthday in a grand manner. Yafei noticed that she had been somewhat depressed for the past six months because of Jiang Weidong.

So she called all her brothers and sisters who lived on the island, urging them to come back and celebrate their mother's birthday together, to make things lively and cheer Anjie up.

Jiang Weiguo also took leave to visit his family this time. He knew An Jie was worried. Jiang Weidong couldn't come back for the time being, so at least he came back first to put An Jie's mind at ease.

On the ship back to Songshan Island, Lin Wangshu, who never gets seasick, was now leaning against the window, vomiting so badly that she was practically throwing up bile.

Ya Ning patted her back anxiously and said, "Big sister, what's wrong with you? I remember you don't get seasick."

Lin Wangshu slumped in her seat and shook her head weakly. "I don't know. I felt unwell when I woke up this morning."

When she went out in the morning, she felt waves of anxiety and didn't eat much breakfast because she felt so uncomfortable.

As soon as I boarded the boat, a wave of dizziness washed over me, and my stomach churned. I immediately vomited up everything I had eaten that morning.

Touching her still-beating heart, Lin Wangshu frowned uncomfortably, a bad premonition rising in her heart.

On the dock, Anjie was straining to see the ships in the distance, a joyful smile on her face.

Yafei took her hand and joked, "Ms. Anjie, are you happy with your fiftieth birthday? So many people have come to celebrate with you."

An Jie first smiled and nodded, then sighed and said regretfully, "It's a pity that Wei Dong is not here. I would be even more satisfied if he were here."

When Yafei saw that she had brought up this topic again, she quickly laughed it off: "My second brother didn't come, but my second sister-in-law did. Their family can send one representative."

After Lin Wangshu disembarked, An Jie noticed her pale face and asked her with concern. Upon learning that she had suddenly become seasick, he suddenly asked, "Wangshu, are you pregnant?"

But Jiang Defu smiled dismissively and said that she was being superstitious, since his son was perfectly fine.

Anjie also hoped that her dream was just a dream. Now that she can hear her son's voice, she can feel much more at ease.

With this good news, Anjie's worried expression finally disappeared during lunch, and she happily accepted her children's blessings.

After finishing her meal, An Jie didn't go anywhere. She just stood by the phone, waiting to be the first to answer when Jiang Weidong called.

Jiang Defu scoffed at this, "Is it really necessary to be so ambitious?"

But as soon as he finished eating, he took a newspaper and sat on the sofa next to the phone without moving.

Half a day passed, and Jiang Defu hadn't even turned a page of the newspaper in his hand. Jiang Weiguo was also distracted when he spoke to him.

When the phone finally rang, An Jie picked it up quickly, a smile on her face, "Hello, is this Wei Dong?"

Anjie's smile vanished abruptly after she heard something on the other end of the line, and her hand holding the phone trembled uncontrollably.
