Two years later, Lin Wangshu graduated and, at her insistence, was assigned to the Qingdao Drama Theatre. This marked the end of her long-distance relationship with Jiang Weidong.

Upon exiting the train station, Lin Wangshu did not see Jiang Weidong and frowned, as he had clearly said he was coming to pick her up.

Just then, two short car horns caught Lin Wangshu's attention. She looked in the direction of the sound and saw Jiang Weidong sitting in a green convertible military vehicle.

He was wearing sunglasses, and when he saw her looking over, he grinned, revealing two rows of neat, white teeth, looking quite smug.

"Wang Shu." Jiang Weidong opened the car door and got out. He was wearing a flight jacket, which was wide open to reveal a black short-sleeved shirt underneath. He wore brown military pants and black military boots, which made him look tall and slender. He strode up to her and called her name in a low voice.

Lin Wangshu had never seen him dressed like this before, and she was completely mesmerized. Her eyes were fixed on him, and she stammered, "You... why did you drive here?"

Seeing her like this, Jiang Weidong's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile. He took the luggage from her hands and walked to the car. "The political commissar knew you were coming and thought you must have a lot of luggage, so he gave me special permission to drive to pick you up. Who would have thought..."

Looking at the small bag in his hand, Jiang Weidong shook his head and smiled. Who would have thought that Lin Wangshu had so little luggage?

Jiang Weidong caught a glimpse of her smug expression out of the corner of his eye and smiled smugly. "Wangshu, if you want to look, just look openly. Your brother isn't stingy."

Lin Wangshu turned around and stared at him with her arms crossed. "Brother, who taught you this? It looks like a peacock spreading its tail feathers."

When they first met, Lin Wangshu was blinded by Jiang Weidong's good looks. But now, sitting in the car and feeling the wind, her mind cleared up considerably, and she realized that Jiang Weidong had deliberately dressed up to seduce her.

Jiang Weidong's smile froze, but he continued driving, feigning composure. "What are you talking about? I don't understand. Don't I dress like this all the time?"

Lin Wangshu glanced at his gleaming leather boots and almost burst out laughing. She quickly pinched her fingertips, using the pain to suppress her laughter. Her face turned bright red, and it took her a long time to hold it in.

Seeing that she hadn't spoken for a long time, Jiang Weidong shifted uncomfortably and glanced at her. He saw Lin Wangshu's face was red and there was still a lingering smile on her lips. He felt embarrassed and his whole body was burning. He couldn't help but clear his throat and ask, "What are you laughing at?"

Lin Wangshu didn't expect that he would still find out. Sensing his embarrassment and annoyance, Lin Wangshu quickly put on a serious face and coaxed him, "I'm happy. Such a handsome man is actually mine. I'm so happy just thinking about it."

Jiang Weidong snorted, clearly not believing it.

"Really!" Lin Wangshu said firmly. "Just now at the station entrance, so many girls were staring at you. I was even jealous."

At this point, Lin Wangshu narrowed her eyes and asked suspiciously, "Are you doing this on purpose, wearing sunglasses to look cool and seduce those pretty girls?"

Jiang Weidong panicked. He was innocent! He quickly took off his sunglasses and fumbled to put them on Lin Wangshu's face. "I didn't. Here you go. I'll never wear them again."

Adjusting her sunglasses and putting them on properly, Lin Wangshu gritted her teeth to suppress a laugh. Of course she knew he didn't, but if she didn't say it, she didn't know when she would be able to appease the man who was angry because he had lost face.

Seeing that Jiang Weidong kept glancing at her out of fear that she would really get angry, Lin Wangshu said in a calm voice, "This is a one-time exception. You are not allowed to wear these sunglasses in front of the opposite sex in the future!"

Jiang Weidong immediately nodded and assured him, "Don't worry, I'll do whatever you say, leader."

Lin Wangshu laughed. "When did I become your boss?"

Seeing her smile, Jiang Weidong relaxed as well. "At home, the wife is the boss; it's the norm in our army!"

"Alright, the boss orders you that from now on, you are only allowed to wear sunglasses in front of me. Over!" Lin Wangshu said with a smile.

Jiang Weidong gave a solemn salute, "Yes, sir!"

Lin Wangshu was satisfied. She looked around through her sunglasses, but realized that this was not the way to the dock. She turned to Jiang Weidong and asked, "Where are you taking me? My parents are waiting for me at home."

Jiang Weidong chuckled mischievously, then reached out and pinched her chin. "Little Moon, you're too carefree. How come you only realized this now? Aren't you afraid I'll sell you off?"

He didn't use any force, and Lin Wangshu easily broke free by turning her head. "Why should I be afraid? I'm so beautiful, shouldn't you lock me up and force me to be your wife?"

Jiang Weidong laughed heartily, "You're right, I'll take you to our home now!"

Lin Wangshu was so surprised that her sunglasses slipped down. "You applied for a house? So fast?"

“That’s right.” Jiang Weidong nodded. “We’ll be there soon. It’s an apartment building, on the second floor, with three bedrooms and a living room.”

Lin Wangshu was now in a panic. She peered out the window and saw a red house. "Hey, Weidong, isn't that our house?"

Jiang Weidong savored the words "our home," growing happier with each thought. It was a home just for him and Xiaoyueliang, and that was wonderful.

At that moment, several women were sitting downstairs picking vegetables. Hearing the car horn, they all looked up curiously.

"Is this Battalion Commander Jiang bringing his wife here? He's putting on quite a show, having to come in a car to pick her up."

"Who can blame Battalion Commander Jiang for doting on his wife? When the house was being renovated, I saw the workers even carrying a toilet inside."

"Toilet? These foreign gadgets are ridiculously expensive. Only Battalion Commander Jiang in the whole building is willing to spend the money on one."
