Lin Wangshu was taken aback at first, then looked at her clothes and understood. She stood next to Jiang Weidong, very close to him, their shoulders rubbing against each other.

"Beautiful." Jiang Weidong praised sincerely. Lin Wangshu was indeed beautiful. Her seaweed-like curly hair gave her a unique temperament, making her look bright and charming.

She looked completely different from before, which is why Jiang Weidong didn't recognize her, or rather, dared not recognize her.

When Lin Wangshu's fair profile appeared on the screen, someone suddenly shouted, "It's Xiuxiu!"

This remark caused a stir in the cinema. Jiang Weidong looked at the familiar face on the screen, then at the girl beside him, and a sense of satisfaction welled up inside him.

Although her face was still the same, every frown, smile, and gesture was completely different from the usual Lin Wangshu. Jiang Weidong found it amazing and became very fascinated.

Xiuxiu's ending in the movie was tragic, but it was portrayed subtly. The only scene shown was a village littered with corpses, which tugged at the heartstrings of the audience.

They were eager to know what had happened to the pretty girl and secretly prayed that she would escape unscathed. Jiang Weidong also caught his breath and sat up straight.

But things didn't go as planned. The usually clear river was now stained crimson with blood. As the camera zoomed in, all people could see was long, black hair soaking in the bright red water.

Then the protagonist's carefree face appeared on the screen. At this moment, he was unaware that he would never hear that clear singing voice again, nor would he ever see the girl he liked again.

When Jiang Weidong saw the bright red blood, he couldn't help but clench his fist tightly. Lin Wangshu felt a pain in her hand and turned to look at him.

But they found that Jiang Weidong was clenching his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead, staring fiercely at the Japanese soldiers on the screen, with tears glistening in his eyes.

Lin Wangshu knew he was getting into character, so she gently patted him with her other hand and said softly, "Weidong, I'm here. I'm fine."

After the movie ended, they sat for a while longer, until all the audience members had left. Then Jiang Weidong tugged at the silk scarf on her face, stood up, and walked out.

But as they reached the door, a teenager suddenly jumped out, looking at Lin Wangshu, who was wrapped up tightly, with burning eyes, "Are you Xiuxiu?"

His tone changed with excitement; although it was a question, he used a declarative tone, clearly indicating his certainty.

Jiang Weidong shielded Lin Wangshu behind him, looking at him warily. "No, you've mistaken me for someone else."
