Chapter 94 Falling into the Abyss 3

It doesn't look like a ball, it looks like an egg.

"My goodness, what a huge bird egg! How big must the bird be to lay such an egg?" Yan'er was so happy that she forgot she was still trapped in the worm-infested bird's nest. She reached out and tapped the eggshell; it broke open, and a lot of pills spilled out.

Murong Junlan sniffed the air; there was a strong smell of medicinal pills. He wasn't sure if the pills were good or poisonous, but then he saw the earthworms that had been lying limply on the ground suddenly jump up and rush towards the pills.

Just as the earthworms were about to touch him, Murong Junlan swiftly pocketed the pills in his pouch. The earthworms, seeing this, all rushed towards him. Murong Junlan deliberately tossed a few pills from his hand, and the earthworms scrambled to eat them, then chased after him again. Murong Junlan scattered a few more pills, and the earthworms again scrambled for them and chased after him once more. Murong Junlan grabbed Yan'er, who was standing there watching the commotion, and ran outside.

"Your Highness, give me a few pills so I can feed them to you," Yan'er said playfully.

"This elixir is a good thing. Let's go quickly." Good heavens, they ran ahead, with earthworms chasing behind, and the chirping of hungry birds could be heard overhead. Finally, they saw a baby bird with a big yellow beak. Murong Junlan was about to be happy when suddenly everything went dark overhead. A big beak opened towards them, followed by an angry screech.

"Is it fun?" The Emperor's voice came coolly from behind.

A string of earthworms swayed onto the old man's nose, startling him so much that he snapped them away angrily, saying, "What are you doing? You'll scare me to death!"

"If you wanted to die, you would have died long ago. I think you're just too bored, aren't you?" The Emperor tossed over a scripture. "Memorize it all."

The old man threw the book down and protested, "I won't memorize it. What's the use of memorizing all this? I'll be stuck here all day long, all year round. I'll turn into a stone statue."

"Then shall I take you to the white-haired woman's place?" the Emperor asked again.

"I'll recite it." The old man quickly jumped down, picked up the book, and read it aloud.

"Did you send those two any random stuff?" The Emperor flicked his hand, and a bright light shot out. The bag of pills in Murong Junlan's hand moved. He thought it was the earthworm causing trouble again, so he quickly covered it up. The old man also quickly intervened to stop the Emperor's sabotage. The old man thought to himself, "If you keep causing trouble, those two enemies might not even recognize each other for a long time."

The Emperor flicked his sleeves and went inside without paying any more attention to him. However, as he closed the door, he reminded the old man, "I'm going into seclusion for a while. You'd better not cause any trouble, or you'll be in for a world of trouble."

The old man was delighted to hear this, thinking, "You'd better go into seclusion quickly. Once you're in seclusion, this place will be my domain, and I can do whatever I want." With that thought in mind, the old man diligently ran over and pushed open the stone door of the inner cave for the Emperor.

The old man tried hard to suppress his inner joy and respectfully saw him off, saying, "Take care, sir."

The Emperor frowned: "Am I that old? Change how you address me."

The old man paused, then immediately flattered, "That was just out of respect for you, oh no, out of respect for how you address me. You're so young; if I were a woman, I would be the one to fall for you."

"Get out!" The Emperor slammed the door shut and then flicked a beam of light behind him. "Stop your little schemes, or I can destroy you from afar."

The old man, unconvinced, winked and made faces at the Emperor's back. Suddenly, a pill shot into his mouth, tumbling down his stomach. The old man was furious: "What kind of damn pill is this? Do you really have eyes in the back of your head?"

The Emperor's voice was somewhat ethereal: "You'd better take care of yourself."

The old man felt like he'd swallowed a fly, desperately trying to vomit but nothing came out. Suddenly, he stopped vomiting, tilted his head back, and made a smug gesture. "Yes," he thought, "since the Emperor is in seclusion, I don't believe he can do anything to me. Unless the Emperor isn't afraid of his meridians going reversed." With that thought, the old man chuckled.

"Don't be too happy yet." The Emperor's voice came from afar, but it seemed to surround him.

"What kind of supernatural power is this?" The old man immediately stopped smiling, sat down on the stone bench with a serious expression, and began to read the scriptures aloud.

Suddenly, light returned to Murong Junlan's head. He didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but in any case, this was not a place to stay for long. He took Yan'er's hand and used his desert lightness skill to walk away, but after only a few steps, a thick cloud pressed down from above, pressing them down heavily. The two of them fell downwards without restraint, and with a "thud," they fell into an unknown abyss.
