Chapter 43 "Dreamlike Twin Shadows" Part 1

It must be admitted that there is indeed a significant difference in physical strength between beasts and humans. The Thunder Dragon King and the Emperor Crocodile King fought continuously for five days and five nights without showing any signs of fatigue. Murong Junlan and the Thunder Dragon King joined forces against the Emperor Crocodile King, and while their strength appeared evenly matched, Murong Junlan knew in his heart that the Emperor Crocodile King was absolutely superior. He knew that if things continued like this, both he and the Thunder Dragon King would be exhausted and defeated, perhaps even severely injured and coughing up blood. It seemed he needed to think of a way. But what way?

Just as Murong Junlan was at his wit's end, a colorful mist emerged from the east, and the sky suddenly split open, radiating brilliant light. The mist surged through the clouds and rushed towards them. When the mist touched the iron chain in Murong Junlan's hand, a powerful force was channeled into it, and the iron chain instantly transformed into a fire dragon that flew into the sky. After circling several times, it pounced straight at the Emperor Crocodile. The Emperor Crocodile instantly seemed to lose its head, revealing an unprecedented look of terror. Then, the fire dragon surrounded the Emperor Crocodile with lightning speed. Before the Emperor Crocodile could launch an attack, there was a loud "boom," and the huge Emperor Crocodile King was annihilated in the smoke and dust of the explosion.

Both Lei Longwang and Murong Junlan were stunned by this sudden turn of events. Before they could react, an object suddenly landed in front of Murong Junlan with a "thud." Murong Junlan instinctively reached out and grabbed a delicate little hand. But before Murong Junlan could see the person's face clearly, a huge hole suddenly opened up beneath their feet with a loud crash. Murong Junlan and the person fell into the hole one after the other...

"Splash!" A large splash of water erupted in the cave, and the two sank to the bottom. As they sank, Murong Junlan sensed something was wrong. Little did he know that the person he was holding couldn't withstand the violent upheaval of the "chaotic" world and had already passed out before even entering the water. Belatedly realizing what was happening, he desperately pulled on her hand and swam upwards. Finally, just as the woman was about to suffocate, Murong Junlan threw her to the surface.

When Murong Junlan caught the girl who fell into his arms, he forgot his exhaustion from the past few days. Overjoyed, he carried her to the water's edge and hurriedly brought his lips to hers... When the girl slowly woke up, Murong Junlan could no longer hold on and collapsed beside her with a thud.

"Your Highness, Your Highness, wake up, wake up!" The woman shook Murong Junlan desperately, but Murong Junlan wouldn't wake up no matter what she did; he was sleeping like a lump of mud.

Three days and three nights later, Murong Junlan slowly awoke. He heard the sound of dripping spring water, a melodious tinkling. Then, he saw a beam of light shining down from outside the cave, within which softly shimmering, multicolored beads interspersed with crystal-clear droplets rose continuously, like a scene from a fairyland. What he saw next made Murong Junlan wonder if he was dead. He saw a beautiful woman emerging gracefully from a pool of multicolored stones, her radiant eyes and radiant smile so breathtakingly beautiful that Murong Junlan felt his death at that moment was worthwhile.

He sat up and gazed at the beauty from afar, not wanting to disturb this rare and beautiful scene. However, the beauty saw him. She cried out in surprise and jumped into the water with a splash. Murong Junlan was a little dazed. He slapped himself twice, thinking he wasn't dreaming. Should he save her? Murong Junlan looked into the water for a while, but the woman didn't resurface. No, he had to save her. So, without even taking off his clothes, Murong Junlan jumped into the water.

The woman actually knew how to swim; she had simply fainted last time. Now, seeing Murong Junlan jump into the water, she realized with horror that she had been bathing and was completely naked. Unable to speak in the water, she had no choice but to flee. Murong Junlan, focused on saving her and thinking she was about to sink, quickly swam towards her. The woman panicked, curling up and letting herself sink. Seeing this, Murong Junlan, to keep up with her sinking speed, also curled up and swam towards her. The woman was utterly devastated, thinking, "Your Highness, although we were husband and wife in our past lives, and I transmigrated here to marry you, I'm not willing yet! No, absolutely not!" But just as she was in a daze, Murong Junlan miraculously swam to her side like a fish. Oh God, what a sin! Her mind went completely blank.

Just as Murong Junlan grabbed her hand and pulled her upwards, an idea suddenly popped into the woman's mind. Instead of running away, she quickly pressed herself against him, taking advantage of his momentary lapse in attention to begin tearing off his clothes. Murong Junlan, assuming she had grabbed his clothes in her panic, used his other hand to push her away and continued to pull her upwards with her other hand. Seeing this, the woman had no choice. In a moment of quick thinking, she suddenly leaped in front of Murong Junlan, hooked her arm around his neck, and kissed him directly on the lips.

This sudden action stunned Murong Junlan. He froze for a second. His lips had only touched Yan'er. This? Wait, something's not right. Why don't I feel disgusted? Hmm, how could this be? Glug glug glug, he accidentally swallowed a mouthful of water. He was careless. But before he could react, "Hiss!" his upper garment was gone. What was going on? He quickly pulled at his pants. Hmm, it seemed no one was pulling at his pants. Glug glug glug, he swallowed another mouthful of water and started sinking. Then he felt the woman, still wearing his clothes, suddenly swim up in front of him. Murong Junlan quickly took a deep breath, did a 360-degree turn, and a small whirlwind swirled in the water. He shot out of the water in a flash, and as he reached the surface, he scooped the woman up and pulled her steadily into his arms.

"I'd like to see who has the audacity to strip me of my clothes?"

"Your Highness," the woman said, looking at Murong Junlan with a pitiful expression.

"Yan'er?" Murong Junlan blinked, then blinked again, her voice softening completely, her eyes filled with surprise, "How could it be you?"

"Your Highness..." The woman's face flushed red as she looked at Murong Junlan's naked body.

"Yan'er, where did you run off to? Do you know how hard I've searched for you?" Murong Junlan suddenly buried his head in the woman's neck and said reluctantly, "Promise me that you will stay by my side from now on."

"Your Highness, our clothes are soaked." The woman nudged the prince, who seemed lost in a dream.

"If you don't agree, I'll just hold you like this." Murong Junlan actually abandoned his usual aloof arrogance. "Do you know that I almost died in the Jurassic period of the Shangyuan Ancient Realm while looking for you?"

"What?! The Jurassic period of the Primordial Ancient Realm? This is a bit confusing." The woman suddenly remembered, "Your Highness, I also fell into the Chaos Realm before. Wait, that's not right, how could the Primordial Ancient Realm and the Chaos Realm suddenly appear at the same time? Could it be a nightmare?"

"A white-haired woman," the two exclaimed in unison. But before they could even examine the white-haired woman, the stone cave behind them suddenly rumbled loudly, followed by a burst of multicolored light. Murong Junlan reacted swiftly, swinging his iron chain to retrieve the woman's clothes that she had thrown onto the rock. Saying "Quick, put them on," he turned his back, even taking his own clothes off the woman. The two quickly dressed, and a gap had opened in the cave entrance.

At this moment, colorful and crystal-clear water droplets continuously floated out of the opening, like a fairyland. The woman saw a large pearl shining brightly, "Your Highness, look, a large pearl. So this is where the light is coming from. It seems this is no ordinary hole."

"Hmm." Murong Junlan's gaze swept past the pearl and looked up, exclaiming in astonishment, "Silver Ring Dream Shadow?"

The woman looked in the direction of the sound and saw an iron chain as big as a pillar hanging next to the pearl. It was exactly the same shape as the small iron chain in Murong Junlan's hand. The words "Silver Ring Dream Shadow" were written next to the iron chain. She guessed, "Your Highness, could this thing be a pair with the one you have?"

“It’s very possible, but I’ve never heard of it before,” Murong Junlan said seriously.

"Which one is male and which one is female?"

"do not know."

"It seems there are quite a few treasures in this cave." The woman said, reaching out to pick the large pearl.

"Watch out!" Murong Junlan rushed to stop her, but it was too late. A well-hidden oyster shell suddenly slammed shut around the large pearl, trapping the woman's hand. She tried to pull away, but the shell only tightened. Murong Junlan attempted to attack the shell, but it was too thick and futile. The woman winced in pain.

When all other options were exhausted, Murong Junlan swung his iron chain, aiming straight at the large iron chain. With a clang, the clam shell remained unmoved. At that moment, the woman's trapped hand touched something soft and fleshy. Without thinking, she pressed down hard. The soft thing, attacked, opened its shell. The woman tried to pull her hand away, but the clam shell didn't hesitate, immediately clamping down again, trapping her half-retracted hand. With a forceful pull, the woman managed to free her hand from the shell. Her hand was free, and a few drops of bright red blood immediately dripped down.

Just as Murong Junlan was about to bandage the woman's hand, the large iron chain suddenly rustled, until it shrank to the same size as the chain in Murong Junlan's hand. At this moment, the clam shell suddenly opened wide, and a dark-skinned little boy jumped out. He respectfully bowed to the woman and said, "Master, you have finally arrived."

"Master?" The woman looked at Murong Junlan with a puzzled expression.

"Could you be the owner of Silver Circle Dream Shadow?" Murong Junlan nodded to the woman.

"I apologize for my earlier offense. This is for you." With that, the little boy took off a large pearl and presented it to the woman.

"You are..." The woman took the large pearl, her mind still a complete mess.

“Reporting to my master, I am ordered to guard the ‘Five-Colored Shell’ of ‘Silver Ring Dream’,” the little boy continued to explain.

"Oh, so you're saying you made all those colorful bubbles outside?" The woman finally understood.

"Yes Master."

"Little kid, so playful," the woman said, nearly making the colorful seashell choke. He wasn't a little kid at all; he was ten thousand years old, just with a somewhat unreliable appearance. And those colorful bubbles were for protecting the iron chains, not for being playful.

"Master, you must retrieve this treasure yourself." The little boy gestured for him to do so.

"Alright." The woman reached for the iron chain, and with a whoosh, sparks flew from it. Murong Junlan reacted quickly, grabbing the woman and pulling her back a few feet.
