Chapter 192 Encountering a Tiger

The tiger pounced, and in despair, Yan'er let go of the vine. The vine swayed a few times under the tiger's feet and was left alone on the cliff. The young Yan'er fell off the cliff.

When she woke up, the young Yan'er was sleeping in a thatched hut. Just as she was about to sit up, the young pavilion master pushed open the wooden door, holding a large lotus leaf filled with a handful of water. The young man was startled at first, then gave a shy smile. The young pavilion master paused for a moment, then presented the lotus leaf to the young Yan'er, his face turning bright red before he even opened his mouth.

"You're awake. This spring water is sweet; let me take a sip to moisten my throat."

Young Yan'er looked around, then thought blankly for a while, her soul still reeling from the shock, unable to recall anything. The boy, however, couldn't wait to begin explaining.

"I went up the mountain to gather herbs and saw you being chased by a tiger. You even fell down, so I carried you here. I only saw the wounds on your hands and feet and applied medicine for you. Can you check where else you are injured?"

After the young pavilion master finished speaking, he placed the lotus leaf in the young Yan'er's hand, then took out a bottle of medicine from his person and placed it on the bed, instructing, "Apply it yourself, it works quite well. I'll go out for a bit."

After the young pavilion master finished speaking, he turned and left like the wind. At this moment, the young girl Yan'er asked loudly, "Where is that tiger?"

"I killed him." The young pavilion master's figure disappeared outside the thatched hut in an instant.

"If you kill me, how am I supposed to get revenge?" Young Yan'er sat there muttering to herself. She hadn't even drunk a drop of water from the lotus leaf until the young pavilion master returned, let alone applied medicine to her wounds.

The boy, seeing her standing there dumbfounded, panicked for a moment, thinking she had been knocked unconscious. So he clumsily touched her forehead—it wasn't hot. He then gently patted her shoulder, asking with concern, "Are you hurt anywhere?"

Young Yan'er returned to reality from her dream and asked again, "Did you scare the tiger away?"

"Hmm, still thinking about the tiger?" The young pavilion master, utterly puzzled, repeated, "I killed it."

After speaking, the young pavilion master turned and walked out of the wooden gate. A moment later, he made a great commotion outside. Then, he dragged a tiger two or three times his size and forced his way in, throwing down the tiger's paw.

"Here it is."

Young Yan'er cried out in surprise. This cry startled the young pavilion master, who stood awkwardly with an expression that seemed to say, "Weren't you looking for it?" But he quickly pulled the tiger out again.

And that's how the two became friends.

Young Yan'er was a princess in the palace. This accident was also an embarrassing incident of her secretly running away to hunt. Later, the pale-faced scholar found out about it and blamed her for not taking him with her.

The young master was a wandering child who knew there was a world of difference between him and Princess Yan'er in the palace. However, Princess Yan'er treated him like a brother. When she and her maids sneaked out of the palace to play, she would definitely look for him, because this brother who had saved her life gave her a strong sense of security. She had once asked the young master for his opinion, wanting to recruit him into the palace as her personal guard, but the young master politely declined.

He knew that he, a wanderer, did not belong to the court. The two boys grew up slowly, and the young Yan'er still regarded him as her brother, confiding all her innermost thoughts to him, including her feelings for Murong Junlan. What she did not know was that the young pavilion master's heart had already been captured by her.
