Chapter 138 Deep-seated Hatred Brings In

The entrance to the secret passage was finally found, but Murong Junlan was not happy because Yan'er had found Xiao Yezi's little wooden goldfish at the entrance.

"Is Xiao Yezi in danger too?" Murong Junlan frowned. He didn't dare hesitate any longer and pulled Yan'er into the secret passage. Sure enough, the secret passage was a hidden world. The passage was made up of stone steps, narrow but the air inside was very fresh, and there was a faint scent of bodhi leaves in the air. Murong Junlan had no time to appreciate the scenery; he pulled Yan'er and ran forward almost at full speed.

Where is Lingyi? He is, after all, a half-divine serpent; how could he be so careless? The secret passage seems very far; in short, it's unclear where it ends—it could take the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, or the time it takes to burn an incense stick…

"Your Highness, there's something going on." Yan'er heard it, and Murong Junlan couldn't possibly have missed it.

"Do you still remember 'Dreamlike Twin Shadows'?" In this ever-changing space and time, although he was protecting her, the enemy outnumbered him, and he was afraid that he could not protect her completely. "If I am unable to protect your safety for a moment, use the Silver Ring Dream Shadow. Do you still remember the martial arts technique?"

"I remember, a time of great upheaval..."

"That's good." Murong Junlan knew that the primary cultivation method for both Dreamy Twin Shadows and Silver Circle Dream Shadow was the Gathering of Wind and Clouds.

A loud "Boom!" echoed outside the secret passage. Instantly, a torrent of water rushed into the passage. A cold, indistinct voice came from the sky, its gender indistinguishable.

"You finally came."

Murong Junlan led Yan'er out of the barrier. In the distance was a figure in a flowing robe, with long hair. He was unfamiliar with the figure, but he exuded a deep sense of malevolence.

She's not the white-haired woman! Murong Junlan was certain. He knew the white-haired woman all too well; having fought her so many times, he could recognize not only her ruthlessness but even her breathing.

She couldn't possibly be the abbot, since the abbot is a man. This woman, with her murky bones and overflowing resentment, clearly harbored more murderous intent than the abbot.

Who are you? Do we have a grudge?

"You shall die." The newcomer's face was veiled in black, and her eyes shot out two piercing beams of cold light. With a flick of her hand, two beams of snowy light shot straight towards them.

"The Twin Snow Swords?" Murong Junlan's eyes turned cold. He dared not be careless. He pulled Yan'er into his arms and suddenly unleashed a sharp, swift attack.

Clang, clang, clang—dozens of blows clashed, each strike vicious and deadly, as if the grudges of several lifetimes had been condensed into the swords, and the deep hatred would not be resolved until the other was destroyed.

"Do you and I have a grudge?" Murong Junlan looked into those hateful eyes.

The woman didn't respond, and her double-snow sword dance became even more exquisite.

A double dragon strike came hurtling towards her, but Murong Junlan, not wanting to use lethal force, slightly reduced his strength, diverting half of the destructive power with his thin rope. Unexpectedly, his opponent didn't appreciate this; the sword flashed, and the twin snow swords aimed directly at Yan'er. Murong Junlan spun around rapidly, executing a Lingbo Step, then followed with a Phoenix Soaring Freely.

With a clang, the Twin Snow Swords slipped from the woman's hands. Undeterred, she flicked her sleeves, sending two hidden darts flying—one aimed at Murong Junlan, and the other at Yan'er.

Murong Junlan had no choice but to withdraw his sword and return east. He turned his horse around and gazed at the moon, his sword sweeping across mountains and rivers, his gaze sweeping back over a million mountains. With two quick flicks, he sent the hidden darts flying.

The woman snorted coldly, and two streaks of light flew out from her sleeves, swirling and retracting towards the Twin Snow Swords before turning and speeding away with the swords in hand.

Murong Junlan was about to give chase with Yan'er when the abbot emerged from the dense forest on the right, holding a staff.

"Where did you hide them?" As he spoke, Murong Junlan's thin rope reached for the abbot. The abbot swung his staff, and the two began to fight, each revealing their strength.
