In the end, the Great Sage broke the rules.

Chapter 2: A Different Sun Wukong

"How long are you going to sit here?"

"It's time to go."

Hearing the voice, Chen Yi, who was sighing, was startled. Looking in the direction of the sound, she saw a man from her memory.

The man was dressed in black, with a cold and stern face and eyes as sharp as an eagle's.

He stood there like a statue, yet he exuded an invisible pressure.

Chen Yi sighed inwardly, thinking how powerful and domineering the aura was, completely different from the Sun Wukong he had seen in TV dramas.

This person has hair, and doesn't have a monkey face; you can't tell at all that he's a monkey!

This isn't a monkey at all; it's clearly a handsome and dashing young man!

Chen Yi was certain that he had traveled to a parallel universe.

He composed himself, quickly stood up, and said, "Wukong, wait a moment while I pack my things."

The man glanced at him indifferently and did not reply.

Chen Yi felt a little embarrassed and thought to himself, "This monkey is really indifferent."

Just then, the man suddenly spoke up: "Hurry up."

After saying that, he turned and walked out without waiting for Chen Yi at all.

Chen Yi was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly ran back into the house to pick up his bundle, and then rushed out again to keep up with Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong suddenly stopped, turned around and stared steadily at Chen Yi, asking in a cold voice, "Where is that bald monk?"

Upon hearing Sun Wukong's words, Chen Yi trembled with fear.

Holy crap! He actually figured out that he wasn't Tang Sanzang!

It's all over now!

Chen Yi dared not lie in front of such discerning eyes, and said tremblingly, "I...I don't know..."

Sun Wukong narrowed his eyes and smiled slightly: "It's good that he's dead. From now on, you will be the one to go on the journey to retrieve the scriptures. However, you must obey my orders along the way."

The timid Chen nodded repeatedly, responding obsequiously, "Yes, yes, I'll do whatever the Great Sage says."

Seeing the obedient little monk, Sun Wukong was quite pleased; this kid was much more pleasing to the eye than that bald donkey.

Sun Wukong took Chen Yi on his journey. Along the way, Sun Wukong bossed Chen Yi around, and Chen Yi obeyed his every command.

There was no way around it; he was a weakling. In this world where demons and monsters roamed freely and he was highly sought after, he had to cling to Sun Wukong's coattails to survive.

One day, the two were passing through a desolate mountain when they encountered a group of bandits.

Without saying a word, Sun Wukong charged forward and quickly defeated the bandits.

Chen Yi was full of praise for Sun Wukong's skills, thinking to himself: This monkey is indeed powerful. With him by my side, I am much safer.

After dealing with the bandits, Sun Wukong picked up the treasure on the ground, weighed it in his hand, and then looked at Chen Yi.

Chen Yixin understood immediately and ran forward obsequiously, stuffing the treasure into his bundle.

"You silly goose, you're quite perceptive." Sun Wukong nodded in satisfaction.

"Hehe, you flatter me, Great Sage. It's nothing at all," Chen Yi said with a smile.

Sun Wukong walked ahead carrying his golden cudgel, while Chen Yi followed closely behind with his bundle on his back.

"Wait." Sun Wukong suddenly stopped.

Chen Yi's heart tightened, thinking that Sun Wukong had discovered something, and he quickly asked, "Great Sage, what's wrong?"

Sun Wukong looked at the distant mountains and said, "I'll go and scout it out. You wait for me here."

After saying that, Sun Wukong flew towards that mountain.

Chen Yi watched Sun Wukong's departing figure and felt a pang of envy. He wished he could fly too.

"Ah~"

He found a rock to sit on and didn't wander off. He was afraid that Sun Wukong wouldn't be able to find him when he returned, and he was also afraid that he would encounter monsters if he went out.

If only he had some kind of cheat code.
