In the end, the Great Sage broke the rules.

Chapter 124 Havoc at Mount Ling

Sun Wukong also wanted to know how Buddha would react after the death of the person he had chosen to go on the pilgrimage, so he rode on auspicious clouds to Mount Ling.

"You old fool! Old Buddha!" Sun Wukong burst into the hall and shouted at the top of his lungs.

Buddha: "Wukong, why have you come to my Mount Ling to cause trouble?"

Sun Wukong sneered, "Get lost! You sit in the Western Paradise and insist on getting a Mahayana Buddhist scripture, making us go and ask for it. Do you know how many hardships and dangers are involved!"

"I, the Great Sage, have come here today to tell you that I'm quitting!"

"This Great Sage wants to return to Flower Fruit Mountain!"

As he spoke, Sun Wukong's eyes turned bloodshot, and his voice became hoarse and choked with emotion.

"Wukong, what happened to make you so grieved?"

Sun Wukong: "My master is dead! He was eaten by that monster!"

"I came to you before asking you to subdue the demon, but you had the Four Heavenly Kings turn me away!"

"I'm telling you, my master is dead! He's dead!"

"Give me back my master! Give me back my master..."

As he spoke, Sun Wukong sat down on the ground, covered his face, and began to cry bitterly.

The Buddha sighed, “Your master does not belong to this world. His life and death are unrelated to you. Your true master will return in three days and lead you and your disciples to continue your journey to the West.”

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong instantly exploded: "What do you mean by that? You want to replace him? On what grounds?!"

"Unless he comes back, I will not retrieve this scripture!"

Buddha advised, "He was never meant to go on a pilgrimage, Wukong, why are you so fixated on it?"

Sun Wukong: "You want me to continue the journey to the West? Fine! Then bring him back to life!"

The Buddha sat solemnly on his lotus throne, looking at Sun Wukong with a grave expression, and said in a deep voice, "Wukong, stop making trouble."

Sun Wukong remained unmoved, a mocking look on his face. Suddenly, he threw his head back and burst into laughter: "Hahahaha... Me, talking nonsense? How utterly ridiculous!"

Sun Wukong glared at Buddha and roared, "It's clearly you who's being unreasonable! When you asked me, the Great Sage, to protect Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West to retrieve the scriptures, the Bodhisattva guaranteed that there would be no danger to his life, but what happened?"

"Why did my master die?!"

At this point, Sun Wukong became even more agitated. He brandished his golden cudgel, pointed it at the Buddha, and continued shouting, "You keep talking about saving all living beings and having a compassionate heart! Humph... Stop spouting such sanctimonious and high-sounding words here!"

"In my opinion, your so-called sacred mountain is nothing but a den of demons, and it is precisely here that is most in dire need of salvation!"

"In the eyes of you high and mighty people, the masses are probably nothing more than insignificant ants."

"Otherwise, how could you, who always claim to be compassionate, let those three vicious monsters of Lion Camel Ridge go unpunished?"

"Not only did they allow them to devour an entire nation of innocent people, but they were also allowed to wreak havoc on Lion Camel Ridge for five hundred years!"

"Hahahaha... Saving all living beings? What a joke!"

Faced with Sun Wukong's questioning and rebuke, the Buddha, seated on his lotus throne, simply gazed calmly at the nearly mad Sun Wukong with his deep, ocean-like eyes.

The Buddha slightly opened his eyes and said slowly, "Those three demons have been killed by you. Wukong, what else do you want?"

Sun Wukong, holding his golden cudgel, said calmly, "I said, I'll bring him back to life!"

The Buddha said with a sigh, "Wukong! Do you know that if you break the precepts, you will find it difficult to attain enlightenment!"

Sun Wukong naturally understood what Buddha meant, but he still looked resolute and said firmly, "I don't care!"

He didn't care whether he achieved enlightenment or not, as long as he could be with the young monk.

Seeing this, Buddha sighed and said slowly, "So be it. Since you are so persistent, then let it be."

Then, Buddha spoke again: “Go down to the mortal realm. Your master and that person are already waiting for you at Lion Camel Ridge.”

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong's eyes widened in disbelief as he asked, "What? He's still alive!"

This news was clearly a huge surprise to him!

The Buddha nodded slightly and replied expressionlessly, "You will know everything when you go there."

Sun Wukong said no more. He leaped up and landed steadily on his somersault cloud. Then he transformed into a streak of light and sped off towards Lion Camel Ridge like lightning.

As he watched Sun Wukong's departing figure, Buddha's face gradually darkened.

If that mischievous monkey weren't a creature born of nature, possessing an immortal body, and thus not to be killed, he would have already...

However, now we can only let him do whatever he wants, which is really infuriating.
