"Yi Yi, don't move, let me hug you, okay?" Chi Ruiche reached out to hug her.

"Don't come any closer." Jiang took a step towards him, but the stinging pain in her feet slowed her movements, and the blood oozing from her wound seemed to tell of her suffering.

"Yi Yi, I was wrong. You can hit me or scold me, I beg you not to move, okay?" Chi Ruiche was humble to the point of being ashamed, his deep voice trembling. His gaze was fixed on her, the bright red blood stinging him, and his heart trembled slightly.

"Che, do you... like me?" she sobbed, her voice hoarse, a faint smile on her face.

Chi Ruiche could no longer heed her objections. He quickly stepped forward to stop her, and before his other foot could land, he swept her up in his arms. He didn't let go of her even as she hit him, but instead held her even tighter.

Jiang Yi stopped hammering, tilted his head back in disbelief, and looked up, his tear-filled eyes searching for a glimmer of light in the darkness. All of his emotions surged into his heart as tears streamed down his face.

"I didn't lie to you. I didn't know how to bring that up. I never wanted you to know about something so dirty." Chi Ruiche looked back at her with cold eyes, his gaze filled with deep affection and melancholy.

Chi Ruiche's eyes also dimmed. In everyone's eyes, he was an aura of dominance that looked down on the world, but when facing Jiang Yi, he was afraid of defiling her and afraid of hurting her. His Jiang Yi deserved everything in the world, and these emotions were like an invisible shackle that had been binding Chi Ruiche's soul.

"Che, I don't want to be a burden to you." Jiang Yi cupped his face in her hands, her crescent-shaped eyes crinkling into a smile.

Jiang kissed Chi Ruiche's lips, her breath warm, like a soft kitten, her eyes making her look innocent.

In the hospital, Jiang Yi was held in Chi Ruiche's arms. The emergency room doctor rinsed the wound with hydrogen peroxide, also picking at the glass shards embedded in her foot, discarding the blood-soaked fragments aside. The doctor continued rinsing, repeating this process until the glass shards were separated one by one.

Jiang Yi pursed her lips, trying not to make a sound, but the stinging pain still made her frown. She clutched Chi Ruiche's shirt in her hand, and a bead of cold sweat appeared on her forehead.

"It's all taken care of. The nurse will come to give you a tetanus shot in a bit. Don't let the wound get wet, and rest well when you get home." "You should get some rest too." Chi Ruiche hung up before Abu could finish speaking, went back to his room, and fell asleep holding Jiang Yi.
