Chapter 49 I don’t know the origin of love

Hearing this, Chi Ruiche could no longer remain calm. His blood seemed to freeze, as if a piece of his heart had been ripped out.

He stayed with her for three months, from not eating or drinking and not saying a word, to her starting to smile at him and call his name, everything got better and better.

He even felt that she could take care of herself without him. Why was she in so much pain? Why couldn't he keep her? Why didn't he go see her?

"To calm her down, we prescribed her medication, but she still needs medication to fall asleep or, as you've seen, she drinks alcohol to numb herself."

Jiang Yang also calmed herself down. "After six months of treatment, she told her grandfather she was better so as not to worry him. But I know that without medication and without drinking enough alcohol, she would wake up from her nightmares again and again, unable to find peace."

"Three years, and I know absolutely nothing?"

Chi Ruiche hated himself for not caring about her more. She clearly needed him so much, yet she never cried to him. On the phone, she only told him that she was fine, very fine.

"You are the person she depends on, and you still are now."

Jiang Yang pleaded with her grandfather more than once to let Jiang Yi return to China, or to let her see Chi Ruiche.

Chi Ruiche now understands why she drank alcohol and why she talked incoherently. She hadn't gotten better, and in order not to worry Grandpa Jiang and the others, she pretended to be very sensible.

"You didn't go to New Zealand for three years because Grandpa made the request." Jiang Yang should have realized that his inability to come was due to pressure from his grandfather.

"It's my fault for not protecting her."

Chi Ruiche held half a cigarette between his slender fingers, and the smoke rings he exhaled revealed his melancholy and sorrowful eagle eyes.

"I've already told you everything, but you still won't tell the truth?" Jiang Yang watched as he lit another cigarette.

Chi Ruiche doesn't blame anyone; it's his own fault for not protecting her.

Jiang Yang didn't ask any more questions. "So now, is your affection for Xiao Yi due to your childhood protective instincts?"

Chi Ruiche stopped smoking. He had already spoken to Grandpa Jiang and didn't intend to explain it to anyone else. He loved Jiang Yi; he had loved her three years ago.

Fourteen-year-old Chi Ruiche meets seven-year-old Jiang Yi. It is New Year's Day, and Jiang Yi is returning to China for the first time. He comes to the Jiang family with his parents and second uncle to pay New Year's greetings.

In the bustling courtyard, Jiang Yi was building a snowman, dressed in a red and white Chinese New Year's outfit. The red clothes were embroidered with the character "福" (fortune) and had tassels hanging down. The white sleeves were embroidered with red dragons. He wore a matching hat with a white pom-pom tied to his chin. His skin was fair with a rosy glow, and he had bright, crescent-shaped eyes and chubby cheeks, making him very endearing.

He spotted the little guy in the crowd at a glance.

From that day on, the little guy appeared in his life all the time, acting cute and spoiled.

"Brother, what's your name?"

"Brother, your name is too difficult. How about I call you Che?"

"If you don't say anything, I'll take that as a yes!"

“Che”.

"Che, I want to see snow!" In Xijing, where the temperature is 39 degrees Celsius, let alone snow, even rain is rare.

That evening, however, a thin layer of white petals mixed with artificial snow covered the paving stones in the yard.

Jiang Yi stepped barefoot on it, her eyes beaming with joy. That night, Xi'an experienced a "summer snow" that belonged only to Jiang Yi.

"Che, I want to go skiing." "Okay."

"Che, are you coming?" "I'll be right there."

"Che, here, have some." "Picky eater." He ate what she didn't like.

"Che, I can't walk anymore, carry me." "Yes, young master." He willingly bent down.

Jiang Yi is like a piece of rice cake, sticking to him every day. She has wild imaginations and will act cute and clingy to him. No matter what Jiang Yi says, he will respond to every word.

At first, Chi Ruiche also received instructions from his grandfather that he must establish a friendship with Jiang Yi and maintain a good relationship with the Jiang family.

Jiang Yi clung to Chi Ruiche, and because of the relationship between their families, he tacitly agreed to give her whatever she wanted unconditionally.

This little guy, who knew nothing, gradually entered his heart.

Chi Ruiche was taught by his grandfather from a young age to be neither happy nor angry, nor arrogant nor impatient.

Jiang Yi was like a spice in his mundane life; she was like a stone on a calm lake, a ray of warmth shining through a cold world.

He began to care excessively about her, even to the point of extreme worry and fear of losing her. In this state, he was both conflicted and struggling.

He felt he was going crazy and tried to avoid it, but the more he avoided it, the deeper he sank into it.

He feared that her pure and innocent smile, her untainted eyes, would tarnish her.

He hid his love, but on Jiang Yi's seventeenth birthday, he made a gold bracelet by hand for the first time ever, hammering it down one by one as a deposit and a token of their love.

This was his secret, his most selfish attempt to keep her as his possession.

He didn't know when he started to like someone or when he started to fall in love with them.

Whenever Jiang Yi appears, everyone else pales in comparison; all eyes are on her.

I don't know the origin of the love, and I love it deeply.
