"Shall I take you to Chi's place?" Jiang Yang thought that since no one was home today, he might as well take her to Chi Ruiche's place so that Chi Ruiche could comfort her.

"Let's go home." Jiang rested her chin on her hand, lost in thought. She didn't want to tell Chi Ruiche about what happened today.

Jiang Yang said no more and drove Jiang Yi back to the old house. Fortunately, the old house was cleaned regularly. Jiang Yi's room was as usual. She said goodnight to Jiang Yang and left.

Jiang Yang wanted to say something to Jiang Yi, but was interrupted by the sound of the door closing. Helpless, he stood at the door and said, "Xiao Yi, I will protect you." Jiang Yang stood unconditionally behind Jiang Yi; even if she was his father, he would never allow anyone to hurt her.

"Thank you, brother." Jiang Yi stood behind the door. She heard everything Jiang Yang said. She felt a warmth in her heart, but was too shy to express it to his face, so she spoke from behind.

Jiang Yi quickly took a shower, lay down on the bed, and forced herself to rest. Thinking that the medicine she brought back was still left at Chi Ruiche's house, in the dark room, Jiang Yi curled up on the bed, only in this way could she feel safe.

Jiang Yang returned to his room, lay on the bed, stared at the ceiling, and gradually became sleepy, eventually falling into a deep sleep.

After Jiang Yi slowly fell asleep, she was once again caught in a nightmare, but this time she saw not only Li Yue, but also Jiang Guoqing.

Dream

"Why didn't you save me?" Li Yue was bleeding more and more from his abdomen, and his whole body was shaking violently from the pain.

Jiang Yi looked helplessly at Li Yue, her hand trembling as she covered her wound, blood staining her hand and seeping from between her fingers. Li Yue kept asking her questions, but she didn't know how to answer. In the darkness, she saw Jiang Guoqing slowly walking towards her.

"Dad, please help me." Jiang Yi looked at Jiang Guoqing, wanting to grab his sleeve and beg him.

Jiang Guoqing looked at her expressionlessly, shook off her hand, and coldly replied, "It's all your fault."

"No, no, I wanted to save him," Jiang Yi cried, shaking her head. She wanted to explain, she wanted to tell him.

"Jiang Yi, you not only killed Li Yue, but you also killed your grandfather and your mother." Jiang Guoqing's voice was like a demon from the abyss, pushing her into the abyss.

"No, I didn't."

The girl on the large bed gripped the blanket tightly, beads of cold sweat on her forehead, her whole body trembling, her eyes tightly closed, and tears clinging to her long eyelashes.

Just as Jiang Yi was on the verge of being enveloped in darkness, she suddenly opened her eyes, ran off the bed, lost her footing, and fell heavily to the floor. Ignoring the pain in her knees, she rushed into the bathroom and washed her hands over and over again. In her hazy state, she felt that her body was covered in blood. Ignoring the water temperature, she rinsed herself directly under the showerhead.

After what seemed like an eternity, she calmed down. Looking at her soaking wet body, she realized she'd had another nightmare. To avoid being discovered, she took off her clothes and threw them in the trash. Luckily, she could still wear her old clothes, so she grabbed whatever was available to change into.

She curled up in the corner of the curtains, hugging her knees and burying her head in her wrists. She felt useless. Her grandfather had done so much for her, yet she had taken it all for granted. Tears streamed down her face.

She didn't know how much time had passed when her phone rang. She glanced at the time; it was six in the morning. She didn't know how long she had been sitting, but when she stood up, her legs were numb. Fortunately, she wasn't far from the bed, so she managed to sit up, grab her phone, and turn off the alarm.

She composed herself, quickly washed up, and went downstairs. The kitchen was bustling with activity as Aunt Meng received a call to cook some rice porridge to deliver to the hospital.

"Xiao Yi, you're awake so early?" Jiang Yang was already sitting at the table eating breakfast. He was a little surprised to see Jiang Yi and took a bite of his bread to tell her to come and eat breakfast.

"Brother, did Mom call?" Jiang Yi asked Jiang Yang, inquiring about the situation.

"Grandpa has woken up. The doctor told him to eat something light. He told Aunt Meng this morning. I'll take it over later." Jiang Yang looked at Jiang Yi's listless and dejected appearance. She must not have slept well last night either.

“I’ll go with you,” Jiang Yi said hurriedly.

"Okay." As she spoke, Aunt Meng packed up the insulated box and also packed a lot of breakfast in an insulated bag to bring to the lady and the others.

Jiang Yi rushed to the hospital with Jiang Yang without even having breakfast. When Jiang Yang asked her to eat something, she pretended not to hear him.
