Chi Jingwen's face darkened, his expression revealing an indescribable sternness and displeasure. His wolf-like eyes glared at him, and veins bulged on his thin, pale face.

Chi Jingwen and Chi Ruiche came out of the living room and stood in the gazebo of the flower garden. The howling cold wind swept through the corridor, stirring up the fallen dead leaves in the courtyard.

"No one can hurt her, including me."

The temperature seemed to drop even lower with the sound; the icy air clung to the skin, sending chills down one's spine.

Chi Ruiche was slapped hard across the face, his face instantly burning with pain. A red mark remained on his cheek, showing how hard the slap had been delivered.

“Even if I obey, the Chi family will not truly be handed over to me,” Chi Ruiche replied calmly.

Chi Jingwen shook his hand, but his anger did not diminish in the slightest.

"I've been planning for so long, and I finally managed to get you into the Chi family. Now, all of that has been ruined because of your stubbornness."

"Why did you target Chi Chengyu? He's nothing to be afraid of."

Chi Jingwen snapped, "Release him. The shares are the most important thing."

"Chi Sung-woo will pay the price for what he did."

Chi Ruiche's high, prominent brow bones pressed down on his eye sockets, making his eyes appear extremely ruthless and gloomy.

"After teaching you for so many years, have I only raised you to be impulsive and reckless?"

"Are you hiding something from me and plotting something?" Chi Jingwen's face twitched.

"You taught me not to trust anyone in this world except myself."

He left without a second thought, leaving behind just those words.

The wheelchair moved across the wooden floor, the slight creaking of its wheels breaking the silence.

"Brother, let's talk."

Chi Jinghui's voice drifted over leisurely.

Chi Jingwen withdrew his hand, clenching it tightly, and glared angrily in the direction Chi Ruiche had left.

"what you want to say?"

"The children truly love each other, why don't you do the right thing?"

Chi Jinghui appeared natural, with a faint smile on his lips.

Chi Jingwen's face was tense, and his voice was as deep as a summer thunderclap, "Like you, ending up with nothing?"

Chi Jinghui spoke softly, his body naturally pressed against the wheelchair.

Chi Jingwen glanced at it, a strange light flashing in his eyes.

"Brother, is the Chi family really that important?"

Chi Jinghui asked the question, but his voice was flat and emotionless, like a glass of plain water.

The cold wind blew away Chi Jingwen's icy voice, and his resolute face revealed lines of anger.

Chi Jingwen sat down abruptly, the cold stone bench making him tremble slightly upon contact with his body.

“I believe in him; at least he has more courage than I do.”

A gust of wind blew by, carrying a delicate fragrance with it.

Chi Jinghui bent down to pick up a fallen plum blossom from the ground, gently patted off the dust, and carefully put it into the pocket of his wheelchair, a smile on his face as if in response to something.

Looking at the withered and fallen leaves in the flowerbed, Chi Jingwen felt the entire garden become desolate and lost in deep thought.
