Long Yangyang used her spatial abilities to hide the three of them, and the three of them carefully crossed the streets of the zombie town.

The streets were a mess, with cars parked haphazardly. Apart from the occasional passing horde of zombies, there was no sign of any living person.

Long Yangyang and her group tried their best to avoid the zombies while searching for any potentially useful clues.

Suddenly, a strange noise came from a dark corner, and the three of them immediately became alert: "Let's go and see."

After the three of them went over, they saw a crow fly up from a rotting zombie and land on a corpse not far away, pecking at the rotting flesh.

"It's a zombie beast, level six, wind element, not low level," Qiu Ling said.

"Moreover, after that zombie crow ate two zombies, its superpowers showed signs of improvement."

Zombie hordes can level up by devouring each other, but they generally don't do this because fresh flesh is more appealing to them than their own kind.

It's unclear whether this actively hunting zombie beast is an anomaly or if the entire group behaves this way.

"Has the image been sent to Wu Heng and the others?" Long Yangyang remembered that they needed to remind the base.

"As soon as we arrived, the cameras on several hummingbirds were turned on," Fu Muyu said. As for whether the base could receive the images, that depended on the results of Wu Heng's research.

Long Yangyang frowned, her gaze becoming even sharper.

In her perception, an unsettling atmosphere permeated the zombie town, as if some unspeakable secret was lurking in the shadows. She turned to Fu Muyu and Qiu Ling, signaling them to remain vigilant.

"I feel like something's off, but I can't quite put my finger on what's wrong with it."

They continued on, taking each step carefully.

Something seemed to be lurking in the houses lining the street. Long Yangyang's nerves were on edge, her hand gripping the dagger tightly, ready to deal with any sudden danger. She could sense that every corner of this town was fraught with peril.

As they traversed the narrow streets, they gradually discovered a disturbing fact: it seemed that none of the zombies active here were below level four.

On the street, zombies of various shapes and sizes roamed around them. Some were half-rotten, with cloudy white eyes and drooling; others had twisted limbs, moldy skin, and emitted a nauseating stench. But no matter what kind they were, they all gave them a powerful sense of oppression, as if they might pounce and tear them apart at any moment.

"Qiu Ling, are there no zombies below level three in this town?"

“Yes, according to the feedback from the superpowers, there are at least 100,000 zombies below level three. Their location…” Qiu Ling’s gaze fell on the road they had come from.

“Everywhere we went, there were zombies of level three or lower.”

"What did you say?" Long Yangyang looked at Qiu Ling in surprise, but she did not doubt Qiu Ling's judgment.

But if there are so many zombies, why are there none on the streets? She felt that the eerie thing about this town was in these buildings.

"Let's go in and take a look at these low-level zombies." Long Yangyang thought that they would find out the answer once they went inside.

In every house in the town, rows upon rows of zombies, frozen solid, were piled up densely.

They stood motionless in the room, as if frozen in the river of time, becoming eternal sculptures. Those once terrifying faces now appeared unusually peaceful.

"Huh? Are these zombies dead?" Long Yangyang asked uncertainly.

“Sister Long, these frozen zombies are the level three or lower zombies that I sensed,” Qiu Ling said.

"Ability can detect?" Long Yangyang pondered, then turned to look at Fu Muyu. "So, Brother Fu, these low-level zombies that were frozen in ice are actually not dead?"

“It should be,” Fu Muyu said. “I just don’t know why there are so many low-level zombies here.”

The three of them slowly moved through the houses teeming with low-level zombies.

“They are all of them. Could it be that all the houses in this town are crammed with low-level zombies below level three?” Long Yangyang speculated.

But why?

"We haven't encountered any zombies below level three along the way," Fu Muyu said. "Yangyang, do you think all the zombies below level three might have been frozen solid by the extreme cold?"

Long Yangyang thought about it and felt that Fu Muyu's words made a lot of sense. "If we had known, we should have asked Brother Cangshu if there were any low-level zombies in the zombie horde besieging the base."

Fu Muyu held Long Yangyang's hand and comforted her, "It's okay, it's the same if we go back and ask."

"Once the impact here gets back to the base, Uncle Long and the others will definitely take into account everything we can think of."

As night fell, moonlight shone on the frozen zombies, reflecting a ghostly blue light that sent chills down one's spine.

"Brother Fu?"

“There’s a surge of supernatural energy,” Fu Muyu’s sharp gaze fell on the frozen zombies in front of him. “Lingling, take a look and see if their supernatural energy is increasing.”

"That's true, Brother Fu, but the progress is very slow. At this rate, it will take these zombies at least two months to advance."

Long Yangyang's expression was solemn: "Extremely cold weather is actually quite advantageous for zombies."

In the darkness of the town, level four and above zombies loomed, their forms larger, muscles bulging, and faces grotesque. They wandered through every corner of the town, as if guarding this forgotten land.

Long Yangyang and her two companions cautiously moved among the frozen low-level zombies. Their footsteps were so light they made almost no sound, for fear of disturbing the zombies of level four and above.

They're here to investigate; we mustn't alert them.

There are too many high-level zombies in this base. Even with Long Yangyang and Fu Muyu's mutated plants and animals, they cannot guarantee that they can escape unscathed.

A gust of wind blows, and a slight sound is heard from the frozen horde of zombies, as if it were a warning from the zombie town.

Suddenly, a series of heavy footsteps broke the silence in the distance.

A massive, level-four zombie was dragging a lower-level zombie encased in ice, staggering towards a row of houses. Its muscles were contorted, its face contorted in a grotesque grimace, and it emitted low growls. As it passed, it left behind a trail of deep footprints and a frozen zombie dragged into one of the houses.

Then, to the astonishment of Long Yangyang and the other two, one after another, level four zombies brought in the frozen low-level zombies.

"Are they... collecting low-level zombies?" Long Yangyang asked in surprise.

"I think that's it," Qiu Ling agreed. "But what's the reason? Zombie love?"
