Bixie is the elder brother and Tianlu is the younger brother. The two brothers were born in a place with abundant food and a safe environment, which allowed them to spend a truly wonderful time.

However, by burning forests to cultivate fields and draining ponds to catch fish, the gold and jade on the mountains were consumed in just a few years.

In order to survive, Pixiu took his first step into the unknown world, heading to the neighboring mountains in search of food.

During his exploration, Bixie found many pieces of gold and jade. At the same time, he discovered that evil spirits and ferocious beasts could also fill his stomach.

With a new food source, the Pixiu brothers, though not as well off as when they were first born, are at least able to eat their fill.

And so, the Pixiu brothers relied on each other for survival and spent a long time together.

Humans gradually appeared, and the Pixiu multiplied and spread across the land. Originally, this had no impact on the Pixiu brothers, but…

A human named Yi appeared, and he drew his bow and shot down nine golden crows in the sky.

The world underwent a dramatic change. The world, having lost nine suns, became cold and desolate, a vast expanse of ice and snow. Countless lives were frozen to death and buried beneath the thick snow.

The world was in turmoil and food was scarce, which made the Pixiu brothers suffer greatly. Their bodies became weaker and weaker due to hunger, as if they would die at any moment.

In order to survive and to conserve their energy, they chose to sleep.

Countless years passed in the blink of an eye. The snow melted, the grass and trees sprouted, and the world became vibrant again. At this time, the Bixie Tianlu also awakened.

Upon waking, the two beasts discovered that their favorite food, gold and jade, was missing, and the number of ferocious beasts and evil spirits remained unchanged.

Although these things can fill one's stomach, they are not nutritious for the Pixiu.

While the Pixiu brothers were asleep, the human population grew exponentially, leaving their mark all over the world. They ate and took along the way, making many resources (including gold and jade) scarce.

Without the gold and jade, the evil spirit Tianlu could only fill its belly with evil spirits, and soon, Tianlu could no longer endure it.

Driven by Tianlu's crying and fussing, Bixie went to a human tribe to steal gold and jade. As a powerful divine beast, no one could do anything to him.

However, as the saying goes, "He who walks by the river will eventually get his shoes wet." After Pixiu's repeated thefts, humans eventually figured out how to deal with it, and in the end, Pixiu was caught.

The humans offered the Pixiu to their king, who did not mistreat it. Instead, after discovering the Pixiu's formidable fighting power, the king recruited it into his ranks.

As long as the evil spirit fights for him, he can receive a reward (which is the food that the Pixiu needs).

This king's name was: Huangdi (Yellow Emperor).

The Yellow Emperor's army was strictly disciplined and did not allow soldiers and generals to leave the army without permission. This made it impossible for Bixie to avoid human sight and meet Tianlu. However, he did not want Tianlu to participate in the battle. In the end, Bixie let Tianlu hide in his belly.

Under the Yellow Emperor, Pixiu was a fierce general who fought on many battlefields and established a great reputation. His deeds spread among mankind, giving Pixiu the meaning of being in charge of killing and being brave and good at fighting.

However, this period of prosperity was short-lived. Human lifespan is ultimately finite, and not long after defeating Chiyou, the Yellow Emperor passed away, leaving his forces scattered and disorganized.

Those humans schemed against each other, and in order to gain more power, they set their sights on the divine beasts left behind by the Yellow Emperor.

Forced into a corner, the Pixiu brothers left the army and returned to a life of wandering.

As dynasties declined and changed, a dynasty called Shang emerged. It flourished, but now it too has fallen and is about to perish.

Just as the Shang dynasty declined and the Zhou dynasty rose, the great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods began. The Heavenly Court, in its time of prosperity, selected 365 disciples from the three religions to be appointed as gods, with Jiang Ziya in charge of the Investiture of the Gods list and overseeing this great calamity.

Jiang Ziya first served as an official in the Shang Dynasty, but was later forced by Daji to abandon the Shang and join the Zhou Dynasty. After joining the Zhou, he led the Zhou army to break through many barriers and replace the Shang Dynasty.

During the march, Jiang Ziya encountered Tianlu by chance. He was delighted to see it, for this beast was majestic and extraordinary, resembling the brave and warlike Pixiu described in the records.

After Jiang Ziya recognized what kind of beast it was, he lured it with food and made Tianlu his mount.

After joining the army, the Pixiu went out to forage for food every day and returned with gold and jade from its mouth, adding a lot of gold and silver to the army. This gave the Pixiu the meaning of bringing wealth and good fortune.

They conquered Chaoge, the Shang Dynasty fell, the Zhou Dynasty was established, and the Investiture of the Gods began. Those who had died entered the Investiture of the Gods list to become officials in the Heavenly Court, while those who had not died ascended the Investiture Platform to become saints in their physical bodies.

Tianlu was credited with assisting Jiang Ziya in bestowing titles upon the gods, and Bixie was credited with helping the Yellow Emperor unify the human race and fight against Chiyou. Both beasts were granted titles and appointed as generals in the Heavenly Court, responsible for patrolling various places and capturing evil spirits and demons.
