Chapter 90: The Realization of the Ground of No Remaining Support (IV) "The Truth is Always Proclaimed, the Sound of the Dharma Pervades the Universe"

In that prosperous metropolis of the East, Master Huiyu, the incarnation of Amin, decided to hold a grand Dharma Assembly. The news spread like a spring breeze through the streets and alleys of the city, attracting all kinds of people.

On the day of the Dharma Assembly, the city center square was packed with people. There were well-dressed tycoons, their hard-earned wealth accumulated through their business ventures, yet they felt inner fatigue and confusion, yearning to find peace of mind and direction in life through the Dharma. There were busy white-collar elites, burdened by the pressures of work and the complexities of interpersonal relationships, their eyes filled with anxiety and unease. And there were ordinary people, struggling to make ends meet, cherishing a longing for a better life and a hope for liberation from troubles.

Master Huiyu sat upright on the Dharma platform, his gaze sweeping compassionately across the audience as he began his sermon. "Good men and women, our gathering here today is a precious connection to the Dharma. In this world, we are like ships sailing on the vast ocean, tossed by the waves of greed, hatred, and ignorance, never to find peace. The Dharma is the beacon guiding us to the other shore."

He explained the wisdom of the Yogacarabhumi Sutra in a simple and accessible way. "Just as we pursue various things in life, from material enjoyment to fame and status, all of these are impermanent. What we gain today may be lost tomorrow. Just as a once-glorious business empire may collapse due to a crisis, a high position in the workplace may change hands in an instant. This is the truth of impermanence. We should not cling to it, but learn to let go."

Mr. Li, a wealthy businessman in the audience, was moved by this. He recalled how he had competed recklessly for his business, and while he had gained wealth, he had also lost many friends and inner peace. Guilt washed over him, and he began to reflect deeply.

Ms. Zhang, a white-collar worker, had tears in her eyes. She often engaged in intrigue with colleagues at work, scrambling for promotions and salary increases, but neglecting her own physical and mental health. At that moment, she felt the impact of Buddhism on her heart and resolved to change her attitude towards life.

In the remote western mountains, there lies a quiet little village. Amin's alter ego, the Silent Walker, strolls along a mountain path. He sees an old farmer toiling in the fields, his face wrinkled with the vicissitudes of life.

The monk Jingwu approached and asked softly, "Old donor, you work so hard, do you feel any trouble?" The old farmer looked up at the monk, sighed, and said, "Alas, I have worked the land all my life, and when I see the crops are not doing well, I feel worried. Besides, all the young people in the village have gone out to work, leaving us old people feeling very lonely."

Jing Wu Xingzhe smiled and said, "Old donor, you know that everything in this world has cause and effect. You work hard in the fields, and although the harvest may not be good at times, this is also the law of nature. Your loneliness may be due to your over-attachment to your children and grandchildren. In Buddhism, we must learn to accept all changes and view them with a normal mind. You can transform your longing for your children and grandchildren into compassion for all living beings, and do some good deeds for others in the village. This way, your heart will be more fulfilled."

The old farmer nodded thoughtfully, and began to reevaluate his life. He thought of several elderly people in the village who were living in even greater hardship than he was, so he decided to take the initiative to care for them. In the process, he felt the joy of helping others, and his inner worries gradually diminished.

In an ancient temple in the south, Amin's Dharma body has transformed into Elder Mingxin. A small Buddhist exchange event is being held in the temple, with some young monks sitting together to discuss the profound meaning of Buddhism.

A young monk asked, "Venerable, we often encounter distracting thoughts during our practice. How can we achieve greater inner peace?" Elder Mingxin closed his eyes slightly and said after a moment, "On the path of practice, distracting thoughts are inevitable. They are like clouds in the sky, sometimes gathering and sometimes dispersing. We cannot be controlled by distracting thoughts, but must be aware of them with mindfulness. When distracting thoughts arise, do not resist them, but quietly observe them and let them fade away naturally. This is the cultivation of the mind described in the Yogacarabhumi Sutra. Through constant awareness and correction, our hearts can gradually become pure and reach a higher level of practice."

After hearing this, the young monks nodded and began to silently comprehend the elder’s teachings in their hearts and adjust their own practice methods.

In a small fishing village by the sea, Amin's incarnation, Shanhai, met a group of fishermen who had just returned from the sea. The fishermen returned with a full load, their faces filled with joy, but Shanhai saw the pain and struggle of the fish and shrimp in their hands.

Shanhai approached the fishermen and said, "Fellow donors, you work at sea every day, harvesting fish and shrimp to make a living, but have you ever considered that these creatures, like us, yearn for life? In Buddhism, compassion is a very important teaching. If we can reduce the killing of animals, we will accumulate merit."

The fishermen were somewhat skeptical. One elderly fisherman said, "Layman, our ancestors have made a living by fishing. If we don't fish, what will we eat? How will we feed our families?" Shanhai Layman replied calmly, "Donor, I understand your difficulties. But we can appropriately reduce the amount we fish, or try other ways to make a living. For example, we could utilize coastal resources to develop fish processing industries, which would reduce harm to life while still generating revenue."

The fishermen fell into deep thought and began to discuss Shanhai's advice. Although some of them still insisted on their own opinions, others began to realize the possible consequences of their actions and began to waver.

Amin, in various incarnations, traveled to diverse locations, and addressed diverse sentient beings, consistently expounding the truth of the Dharma. Whether at Dharma gatherings in metropolitan cities or in remote mountainous areas, ancient temples, or coastal fishing villages, he imparted the wisdom of the Dharma to sentient beings in appropriate ways, tailored to their needs and capacities. Throughout this process, there were moments of enlightenment and awakening, challenges and conflicts with traditional concepts, and entanglements and reflections arising from self-interest. However, the sound of the Dharma, like a brilliant starlight, illuminated the dark corners of the hearts of every sentient being, guiding them to take firm steps on the path of practice, gradually grasping the state, practice, and fruition as outlined in the Yogacarabhumi Sutra, and continuously moving towards liberation.
