Slayer: Look directly at the Seraph, standing on the sun
Chapter 953 Closing Chapter
"Stop writing!" Chief Examiner Yamada shouted. "Everyone, put your exam papers face down on the table. Staff will collect them."
A rustling sound filled the classroom.
After collecting the papers, Chief Examiner Yamada cleared his throat: "The written test results will be announced in thirty minutes. Please wait in the lobby on the first floor and do not wander off."
The students left the classroom one after another.
Saitama stood up and stretched.
"Finally finished the exams," he said. "I'm starving, let's go get something to eat."
Genos looked at him, seemingly wanting to say something but then stopping himself.
Zhang Hai patted Genos on the shoulder.
“Let’s go,” he said.
Thirty minutes later, in the lobby on the first floor.
The results board was surrounded by people.
Genos squeezed in and found his exam admission ticket number.
Issue 108 - No. 037 - Genos - Written test score: 100 points.
He nodded; the result was within expectations.
Then he went to find Saitama.
Issue 108 - No. 038 - Saitama - Written test score: 0 points.
Genos was stunned.
0 point?
He looked at it carefully and it was indeed a score of 0.
It's not 10 points, it's not 1 point, it's 0 points.
He then looked at the screenshot of Saitama's test paper—the Hero Association would publish the wrong answers so that test takers could find and fill in the gaps in their knowledge.
Question 1: What is the primary responsibility of a hero? Answer: I don't know.
Question 2: Which of the following is NOT a level of monster? Answer: What is Cat Level? Can you eat it?
Question 3: In the event of a fire, what is the correct order of rescue? Answer: Rescue whoever is closest.
Question 4: ...
Genos finished reading and fell silent.
He suddenly realized that it was a miracle that his teacher had survived until now without starving to death.
Finally, he went to Zhang Hai.
Issue 108 - No. 039 - Zhang Hai - Written test score: 100 points.
Genos was taken aback.
100 point?
He turned to look at Zhang Hai in the crowd. The man in the gray short-sleeved shirt was leaning against a pillar with a calm expression.
How did he do that?
He spends every day wandering around the ruins, and I've never seen him read a book.
Genos couldn't understand it.
He walked back to the two of them and told them the results.
Saitama's expression didn't change when he heard that he got a score of 0.
“Oh,” he said. “And then what?”
Genos said, "Next is the physical fitness test. Those who fail the written test cannot participate, so..."
Saitama looked at him.
Genos's voice trailed off: "So, teacher... you've been eliminated."
Saitama remained silent for three seconds.
Then he said, "Can I go to the audience seats to watch you take the exam?"
Genos was stunned.
He thought the teacher would be disappointed, sad, or angry.
But Saitama only asked: Can I go see it?
“It should… be okay,” Genos said.
“Let’s go then.” Saitama turned and walked towards the physical fitness test area. “I heard the physical fitness test is quite interesting, with things like boxing, running, and weightlifting. It’ll be good to take a look.”
Zhang Hai watched his retreating figure and suddenly smiled.
This bald man is more interesting than he imagined.
The physical fitness test was conducted in the open-air stadium behind the testing center.
This is a standard athletics track with a 400-meter track, a lawn in the middle, and various testing equipment. The stands were full of people—friends and family who came to cheer, staff from the Hero Association, and some spectators who had come specifically to see the sport.
The candidates were divided into ten groups of twenty people each, and they took the test in turn.
The test consists of six items: grip strength, high jump, weightlifting, boxing, speed, and endurance. Each item has a corresponding scoring standard, and the final score is the average.
Genos was assigned to the third group, and Zhang Hai was in the fifth group.
Saitama found a seat in the very front row of the stands, rested his chin on his hands, and prepared to watch the show.
The first group to go on stage.
There were twenty candidates, both male and female, young and old. They took the test in turn, following the instructions of the staff.
Grip strength test: A young man in his twenties managed to grip 80 kilograms, drawing astonishment.
High jump test: A tall, slender girl jumped over 2.3 meters, breaking the record.
Weightlifting test: A muscular man lifted a 200-kilogram barbell, his face turning red.
Boxing test: A man wearing boxing gloves punches the force gauge hard, and the reading is 800 kilograms.
Speed test: 50-meter sprint, the fastest time was 5.2 seconds.
Endurance test: 3,000-meter run, the fastest time was eleven minutes.
After one set of tests was completed, the staff announced the results: the highest score was 85, the lowest score was 42, and the average score was 63.
A murmur of discussion arose from the stands.
"The quality of this year's candidates is quite good."
"That boxer with 800 kilograms should be able to get into the B division."
"That girl in the high jump is also good; she has excellent physical fitness."
Saitama yawned as he listened to the discussions.
The second group is on stage.
This group was generally weaker than the first group, with the highest score being only 78 and the lowest score being just over 30.
Group 3.
Genos has entered the arena.
As soon as he appeared, a gasp of surprise erupted from the stands.
"It's Genos! Genos, the S-Class Hero!"
"Why is he here to take the exam? Isn't he already an S-rank?"
"I heard he came with a friend, but since he's registered, he should take the test."
"Good heavens, an S-class hero is taking the C-class exam? Isn't this just bullying people?"
Genos walked expressionlessly toward the first item: grip strength test.
He gripped the force gauge, and the robotic arm applied a slight force.
The numbers skyrocketed.
One hundred kilograms.
Two hundred kilograms.
Three hundred kilograms.
Five hundred kilograms.
One thousand kilograms.
The force gauge screen flickered a few times and then went black.
The staff member's eyes widened.
"This...this..." he stammered, "The force gauge is broken?"
Genos released his grip and said calmly, "It's not broken, it's just that the upper limit is too low. This kind of mechanical force gauge only has a maximum range of one ton. My output power is far more than that."
The staff member opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say.
The second event: high jump.
Genos stood in front of the bar and lightly leaped.
He jumped five meters.
It wasn't a jump; it was a direct jump to a height of five meters, and then it floated down lightly.
The crossbar remained completely still.
The staff member's jaw nearly dropped.
The third event: weightlifting.
When the weight of the barbell was increased to 200 kilograms, Genos lifted it with one hand.
Even if you increase it to 500 kilograms, it's still just one hand.
Add up to a ton, and you can easily lift it with both hands.
The staff gave up and simply awarded full marks.
The fourth sport: boxing.
Genos lightly punched the force gauge.
The numerical value shows: 2,300 kilograms.
The force gauge screen went black again.
The fifth item: speed.
Genos ran the 50 meters in 1.5 seconds.
It's not running, it's teleportation.
The sixth item: Endurance.
Genos ran the 3,000 meters in 30 seconds.
One second per 100 meters on average.
After running, my face wasn't red and I wasn't out of breath; I was just like nothing had happened.
The audience was silent.
After a long while, the staff member announced in a trembling voice: "Group three, candidate Genos, physical fitness test score... 100 points."
Thunderous applause erupted from the stands.
"That's incredible!"
"The S-class hero truly lives up to his reputation!"
"This physical ability is simply monstrous!"
