Chapter 923 Water Dragon Bullet!
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"
Several water ninjas joined forces to unleash a massive water dragon, which roared towards the barrier. The water roared and the air surged, but the barrier remained as solid as an iron wall, unshaken.
The allied ninjas halted their attack, staring blankly at the barrier before them. They had been ambitious, determined to break through this barrier together, but reality dealt them a heavy blow. Even with the combined might of their five elemental ninjutsu, they could not budge the massive barrier.
“This…is impossible…” a ninja muttered under his breath, his eyes filled with fear and confusion.
"How...how can it be so strong!" another ninja roared angrily, beginning to doubt whether he should continue fighting.
“Our attack has reached its limit, but the barrier remains completely undamaged. What methods did the enemy use?” Luo Sha’s face was grim. He stared intently at the unshakable barrier, a deep unease flashing in his eyes.
The Water Shadow beside him glanced coldly at Luo Sha, a mocking sneer in his eyes: "The barrier is strong enough to withstand all your attacks, and is virtually unbreakable. Your efforts are in vain." His voice was low and tinged with contempt.
"You're giving up so easily?" Luo Sha glared at Shui Ying with displeasure. "Don't you have any ideas at all?"
The Mizukage's gaze gradually turned cold. He seemed completely uninterested in Rasa's impatience and dissatisfaction, and calmly replied, "The barrier's energy comes from the caster's chakra. The stronger the attack, the greater the consumption. In any case, it will eventually disappear due to energy depletion. And you, no matter what, will be unable to break through it."
Rasa was startled; the Mizukage's words had clearly confused him even more. The barrier was powerful, yet the battle continued, time seemed to flow endlessly on the enemy's side, rendering all attacks meaningless.
However, at that moment, a deep roar came, followed by even more intense sounds—a conflict broke out between the Iwagakure ninja and the Kumogakure ninja.
"You're blocking my way!" The Iwagakure ninja angrily swung his weapon and smashed it hard against the Kumogakure ninja in front of him.
"You dare to lay a hand on me!" The Cloud Ninja was also furious and immediately retaliated, unleashing a rapid burst of ninjutsu, with rocks and lightning intertwining into a chaotic mess.
In an instant, the already tense situation became even more chaotic. The ninjas of Iwagakure and Kumogakure clashed over old grudges, and this infighting quickly spread, causing the entire allied forces' formation to completely collapse.
"Calm down!" Rasa roared, trying to stop the chaotic situation, but the ninjas on the battlefield had already fallen into blind anger and fear.
"You guys don't understand cooperation at all!" one ninja roared angrily, even turning around and pointing his weapon at his teammate. This infighting seemed to have made them lose all reason, as if the enemy was no longer an external threat, but a teammate standing in front of them.
"Is this your cooperation?" Mizukage sneered, a hint of contempt flashing in his eyes. "You are not worthy to stand here."
Rasa was furious and gradually realized that even if he continued to command, he couldn't reunite the ninjas. Worse still, in the midst of this chaos, the enemy seemed to have already laid out another grand plan.
"What are you doing!" a ninja demanded angrily, seemingly aware of some enemy movements on the battlefield. "Someone is quietly leaving!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the other ninjas began to notice that some of their teammates had quietly left the battlefield. Many ninjas remained oblivious, still caught up in the chaos of the battle, while an unknown force was secretly manipulating the situation behind the scenes.
A cold smile flashed in Shuiying's eyes. "These people who left may have been pawns planted long ago. Your infighting and chaos are exactly the situation I wanted."
Zhang Hai observed all of this with a cold eye, feeling a sense of complete control. His strategy, just as he had envisioned, gradually dismantled the enemy's united front, causing them to collapse completely amidst internal divisions and external threats.
The poisonous insects spread rapidly through the air, like silent death, devouring lives without a sound. Without warning or any sign, the poisonous gas permeated the air like smog. The putrid smell quickly instilled unease; comrades fell one after another, the corpses of the dead ninjas beginning to rot, swaying in the wind like withered leaves.
"What's going on?!" a ninja suddenly shouted in terror, clutching his chest and trembling violently. The ensuing excruciating pain made him feel as if he were struggling in hell—the tentacles of poisonous insects had seeped into his flesh, chewing on his life.
He let out a low groan, looking around at his teammates, who were also struggling in the same agony. Those who were still standing had already begun to decay, their skin festering, their flesh slowly melting away. The poisonous insects spread too quickly; almost no ninja could escape this nightmare in time.
"My...my body..." A ninja stared blankly at his palms. The once firm skin had begun to rot, and his nails were rapidly turning black, as if corroded by some powerful corrupting force. Despair was written all over his face, yet he still couldn't stop breathing, because each breath felt like swallowing an even more deadly poison.
“We…we…” Another ninja weakly supported himself, his eyes filled with fear and remorse. “Why…why did we come here?!”
The ninjas' voices grew hoarse, as if they had lost all hope. Even the once invincible warriors were powerless against this sudden disaster. Poisonous insects multiplied within their bodies, eroding every inch of their flesh; the pain was unbearable, and death became their only escape.
Behind all this, Zhang Hai's cold laughter still echoed in the air. He stood in the distance, his gaze like an eagle's, locked onto the allied forces who had fallen into despair. His plan had been successfully implemented; the endless deaths and desperate cries had turned the entire battlefield into a massive slaughterhouse.
“This is your choice,” Zhang Hai said coldly, his eyes devoid of any emotion. “War is not a game; anyone who tries to resist will pay the price for their choice.”
His gaze was cold, as if this merciless massacre was nothing more than an inevitable outcome. He did not rush to act, but instead stood aside and observed, as if savoring the fruits of victory.
