As soon as I put it on, I met a sickly man

Chapter 9: Turbulence Rises Again

Su Yao's sharp voice pierced the tranquility of the courtyard at night, "Jiang Yue! You are here!"

Jiang Yue and Ding Chen looked at each other and understood. It seemed that this sudden noise was caused by Su Yao. They pushed open the gate and walked out.

Su Yao was followed by several ferocious servants, all of whom stared at Jiang Yue with eager eyes. Su Yao's face was filled with undisguised anger and jealousy, and her eyes were like poison, staring at Jiang Yue intently.

"Jiang Yue, you vixen! How dare you seduce the prince and snatch away Master Ding!" Su Yao scolded angrily, her fingers almost poking Jiang Yue's face.

Jiang Yue couldn't help but find it a little funny. Su Yao was really persistent, always accusing her of something she didn't have. She gently pushed Su Yao's fingers away and said calmly, "Miss Su, you can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. The prince and I are innocent. As for Master Ding, he chose to stand on my side. What does it have to do with me?"

"You're still quibbling!" Su Yao was so angry that she was shaking all over. "The prince didn't even watch my singing and dancing for you! Do you dare to say that you didn't seduce him?"

Jiang Yue sighed helplessly. She really didn't want to get entangled with Su Yao. She turned to look at Ding Chen with a questioning look in her eyes. Ding Chen gave her a reassuring look, telling her not to worry.

"Miss Su, let me say it again, I have nothing to do with the prince. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do." Jiang Yue said in a firm tone.

"You..." Su Yao was irritated by Jiang Yue's calm attitude. "Come here, catch this vixen!"

The servants behind him heard the order and immediately rushed towards Jiang Yue fiercely. Seeing this, Qiu'er quickly stood in front of Jiang Yue to protect her.

Ding Chen stood in front of Jiang Yue. Everyone thought he would fight with the servants directly, but he smiled and said to Su Yao, "Miss Su is so beautiful, why get angry over such trivial matters? On such a beautiful day, Miss Su should not be blinded by jealousy. Why don't we..." He paused deliberately, with a playful smile on his face, "How about we play a game? How about 'You Draw, I Guess'?"

Su Yao was somewhat bewildered by Ding Chen's sudden proposal. She stared at him blankly, momentarily forgetting her purpose in coming. The fierce-looking servants also looked at each other, confused as to what their young lady and this young man were talking about. An eerie awkwardness hung in the air, as if someone were playing a pipa piece out of tune.

Jiang Yue looked at Su Yao's bewildered expression and almost burst out laughing. She knew Ding Chen was stalling for time, giving her a chance to fight back. She had mentioned this "you draw, I guess" stalk to Ding Chen in a previous chat, and she hadn't expected him to actually apply it to her now.

While Su Yao was stunned, Jiang Yue stepped forward and used her sharp tongue to strike back at her. "Miss Su, I understand your feelings of 'unrequited love' for the prince, but you can't shift the blame onto others just because you were wishful thinking." Jiang Yue's voice was crisp and powerful, and every word was like a pebble, hitting Su Yao's heart. "You keep saying that I seduced the prince. Where is the evidence? Is it just because the prince didn't see you dance? The prince is so busy that he might just not have the time to appreciate your 'heavenly voice' and 'graceful dance'. You slander me like this without any basis. Aren't you afraid that the prince will blame you if he finds out?"

Su Yao was left speechless by Jiang Yue's words, her face turning red and white. She wanted to refute, but she couldn't find a suitable reason. Every word Jiang Yue said hit her sore spot, making her feel ashamed. She had thought she could be like the vicious female supporting role in the TV series, arrogantly teaching the heroine a lesson, but she didn't expect the heroine to turn the tables on her, making her look like a clown.

The servants around also began to whisper, looking at Su Yao with eyes full of ridicule. They originally thought that Su Yao was here to teach the vixen a lesson, but they didn't expect that they would become a joke.

Ding Chen watched Jiang Yue defend herself, his heart filled with love. He quietly held Jiang Yue's hand, offering her silent support. Jiang Yue felt Ding Chen's gesture, and her heart warmed. She turned to look at Ding Chen and gave him a grateful look.

When Su Yao saw the two of them holding hands, jealousy burned fiercely in her heart. She clenched her fists, her nails digging deep into her palms. "Jiang Yue, just wait! I won't let you go!" Su Yao said this, turned around and walked away, and the servants behind her followed her dejectedly.

As the night deepened, the courtyard returned to tranquility. Ding Chen looked at the direction Su Yao left, a meaningful smile on his face. "It seems that our Miss Su is not going to give up..." He turned to look at Jiang Yue, his eyes flashing with an inexplicable light, "What should we do next?"

Jiang Yue smiled slightly, a sly look in her eyes. "If an enemy comes, we'll fight him; if a flood comes, we'll block it with earth. Since she wants to play, let's play with her." She paused, her eyes fixed on the flickering lights in the distance. "But before that..." She looked at Ding Chen, a hint of teasing in her eyes. "Isn't it time to fulfill the 'You Draw, I Guess' game you owe me?"

Ding Chen held Jiang Yue's hand, feeling the warmth of her palm, and an indescribable tenderness welled up in his heart. He liked to see her arguing and speaking with a sharp tongue, and he liked even more the trust and dependence in her eyes when she looked at him. "You draw and I guess? Okay." Ding Chen chuckled, holding Jiang Yue's hand in return, interlocking their fingers, "But now is not the time to play games." His eyes were stern, and he looked in the direction Su Yao left, with a hint of warning in his tone, "Some people will not learn their lesson unless they are taught a lesson."

Su Yao returned to her residence, and the more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Jiang Yue's contemptuous eyes and sharp words pierced her heart like a thorn. When had she, a singer, ever suffered such humiliation? A strong desire for revenge surged in her heart. "Come here!" Su Yao slammed the table and stood up, shouting to the door, "Go, catch Jiang Yue for me!"

Several servants took the order and rushed towards Jiang Yue's villa. Relying on their numbers, they kicked open the gate of the villa and shouted for Jiang Yue to come out.

Inside the courtyard, Ding Chen was discussing countermeasures with Jiang Yue. Hearing the noise outside, Ding Chen's face darkened. "It seems our Miss Su can't wait to play games." He turned to look at Jiang Yue, a cold look flashing in his eyes. "You go in and hide first, I'll leave this here."

Jiang Yue shook her head. "Hide? Why should I hide? I haven't done anything wrong." Her eyes were firm, and her tone was a little stubborn. "Today, I will let her know that I am not someone to be trifled with."

Ding Chen looked at Jiang Yue's determined eyes, feeling both distressed and admiring. He knew Jiang Yue's character; once she made a decision, she would never change it easily. He stopped trying to dissuade her and instead turned to his servants and ordered, "Go, stop them."

Ding Chen's servants were well-trained. Although they were not as numerous as Su Yao's servants, they were all agile and for a while they managed to hold off their attack. The two sides faced off at the gate of the other courtyard. The atmosphere was tense and a melee was about to break out.

Jiang Yue stood beside Ding Chen, observing the situation calmly. She knew that this conflict was just the beginning, and the power behind Su Yao should not be underestimated. What happened next would probably be even more difficult.

Just as the two sides were deadlocked, a noisy sound of footsteps could be heard in the distance. It seemed as if another group of people were rushing towards the courtyard. The firelight flickered, and the shadows were everywhere. It was unclear who the newcomers were, nor whether they were friends or foes. Jiang Yue frowned slightly, and a sense of unease rose in his heart.

Ding Chen also noticed the movement in the distance. He held Jiang Yue's hand tightly and whispered, "It seems that tonight's 'game' is going to become more interesting..." Before he finished speaking, a familiar voice came from a distance, breaking the tranquility of the night, "Stop!"
