You are unlucky and I am tough

Chapter 32 Tie Niu is missing

Cheng Shuang had been at home. It was almost dark when she heard about this incident. However, the villagers were not talking about Hu Chunhua's broken head, but that Cheng Tieniu was missing.

It is said that in the afternoon, some villagers saw him running up the mountain alone, saying that he was going to find his father, but when Cheng Jinshan came down the mountain, he did not meet his son.

Seeing that it was getting dark, Li sat on the ground crying and wailing. Cheng Jinshan didn't dare to go into the mountains after dark, so he ran to find the head of the village for advice.

Cheng Li had just finished dealing with a fight between two families, and began to gather villagers to discuss going up the mountain to find the child.

A group of villagers gathered at the door of the village head's house and talked a lot.

"Don't people go into the mountains to hunt in the dense forest? He must have run into the dense forest to look for his father and got lost."

"No way! Village kids are taught from a young age not to go into dense forests. How could Tie Niu, a teenager, not know that?"

"He must have been terrified. Hu Chunhua's face was covered in blood. He probably thought he had killed someone, so he went in to look for his father."

"It's so dark now, could he be lost?"

"It's been over two hours. He must have gotten lost."

"What a sin! This kid is running around. What if he runs into the old forest?"

"I heard there are wild wolves and tigers in the old forest."

"My husband wants to help look for it, but I can't let him go into the old forest."

Mrs. Li listened to the villagers' discussion, was stunned for a moment, and then began to cry out to the sky, "My son, if anything happens to you, I will not live anymore."

Cheng Jinshan was so frightened that he was waiting for the village head to make a decision. The village head meant to let someone who was familiar with the dense forest lead a team in to search.

However, several hunters in the village did not dare to lead the team. Cheng Jinshan was anxious. He did not know the way in the dense forest at night, so he begged the hunters to save his son.

Finally, someone suggested that they could ask Wei Qinglang to lead the team. He had been into the old forest before and was able to walk out after dark last time and even dug up ginseng.

Wei Qinglang's family is building a house. They have been working all day and must be very tired, but human life is at stake, so there is nothing they can do. Cheng Lizheng still takes people to find Wei Qinglang.

When a group of villagers came to the Wei family, the Wei Qinglang brothers had just returned from Zhushan and were sitting down to rest and wait for dinner.

After listening to Cheng Lizheng's story, Wei Qinglang did not delay. He ate something quickly and led the team up the mountain.

Cheng Shuang was also helpless. Although Cheng Tieniu was an annoying kid, he was still a living being.

I just wonder if Wei Qinglang will be exhausted after all this trouble.

Accompanying them were Cheng Jinshan and a dozen villagers who came to help. They carried torches, ropes and other tools that might be used, and hurried towards the dense forest.

In the mountain forest at night, the mountain wind whistled and made the leaves rustle, as if countless hands were caressing them madly.

The full moon above could only cast a faint light through the layers of leaves, making the whole forest filled with a gloomy and terrifying atmosphere.

“Iron Ox…Iron Ox…”

Wei Qinglang walked in front, leading a group of people as they struggled through the deep forest, with someone shouting at the top of their lungs.

I wandered around in the woods for an hour, but still couldn't find any trace of anyone.

Cheng Jinshan's face turned pale with fright, and he asked Wei Qinglang, the team leader, in a trembling voice what they should do.

Wei Qinglang frowned and thought for a moment, then suggested, "Come with me, three people, into the old forest, and the rest of you stay here and continue searching."

The group looked at each other in bewilderment. One of them, with a frightened look on his face, said timidly, "If you leave, what will we do if we get lost?"

Wei Qinglang sighed helplessly: "Go straight down here and cross the stream to reach the edge of the old forest. As long as you don't cross the stream, there will be no danger in this area.

Even if we get lost, we can spend the night here and find our way out at dawn. What's there to be afraid of with a dozen grown men?"

After saying this, seeing that everyone was silent, Wei Qinglang asked again: "Who wants to follow me?"

The only sounds around were the chirping of birds and the buzzing of insects.

Seeing no one responded, Cheng Zhengyi thought for a moment and raised his hand: "Qinglang, I'll go with you."

Xu Daqing, the eldest grandson of Xu Sanpo's family, also raised his hand: "Brother Qinglang, I'll go too."

Finally, Wei Qinglang borrowed a hunter's bow and arrow, called Cheng Jinshan, and regardless of whether he was willing or not, gathered a team of four and set off with new torches.

The four of them walked deeper into the old forest. The further they went, the more fierce the wind seemed to sound, and the rustling of leaves became more rapid, as if warning them not to get too close.

The road under their feet became increasingly rugged and difficult to walk on, with weeds and thorns occasionally catching on the corners of their clothes and trouser legs.

When passing by the stream, Cheng Jinshan fell into the water. Fortunately, Xu Daqing was quick to grab him.

After entering the old forest, Wei Qinglang slowed down his pace and asked everyone to keep quiet. After walking for a while, a strange sound was faintly heard in the distance.

There was a dull thud like the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground, and also a low cry.

They exchanged glances, and Wei Qinglang raised his hand to signal the three people behind him to stand still. He lowered his voice and said, "Stay here and don't move. I'll go over and take a look."

After saying that, he carefully approached the source of the sound with a torch. When he got closer, he smelled a bloody smell in the air.

After pulling aside the bushes, I found a wounded wild boar in the open space in front of me, and we made eye contact.

There was a fierce look in the wild boar's eyes, and it was about to charge forward with a low growl.

Wei Qinglang quickly took out his crossbow from the space and shot an arrow at the wild boar's forehead.

The wild boar was already injured and bleeding profusely, so it fell to the ground.

He put away his crossbow and stuck the torch into the ground, then fired another arrow at the wild boar's head with the bow on his back.

Then he went over and pulled out the short arrow made of special material from the wild boar's forehead and put it back into the space.

Then he turned back and brought the three people who were waiting there.

Cheng Zhengyi looked at the wild boar on the ground with his mouth wide open. "Qing Lang, did you just kill this?"

Wei Qinglang said, "This wild boar was already injured. It might have been bitten by another beast deep in the forest. I shot an arrow at it when it tried to pounce on me."

"We still need to find Tie Niu. This wild boar weighs about 150 kilograms. It's up to you to decide whether to take it with you."

Wei Qinglang gave the decision-making power to them. In fact, he could also throw the wild boar directly into the space and take it out.

But the wild boar is already dead. If I keep it in the space and wait to secretly take it out to sell in town tomorrow, the meat will have gone bad after too long and the restaurant will definitely not buy it.

After discussing it, the three of them felt it was a pity to leave it here, so they tied up the wild boar's legs with a rope and found a thick stick. Cheng Jinshan and Xu Daqing carried it and continued to look for the person.

Wei Qinglang continued to lead the way to find people. After walking around the outer circle of the old forest, he finally found Cheng Tieniu who had rolled down the gentle slope.

At first, when they heard the crying, they thought there was a ghost in the woods and were scared. When they shone the torch, they found that it was Tie Niu curled up on the ground crying.

"Iron Ox." Cheng Jinshan left the wild boar behind and ran down the slope.

Cheng Tieniu realized that it was the villagers who came looking for him, and he cried, "Dad, Dad, my legs are broken and I can't stand up."

Wei Qinglang followed after hearing this and checked Tie Niu's legs. His pants were torn and there were scratches and bleeding on his legs, but they were not serious. His ankle was red and swollen, so he must have sprained it.

"It's not broken, just sprained." Wei Qinglang said.

Cheng Jinshan breathed a sigh of relief, slapped his son on the back of the head and cursed, "You little bastard, who told you to run around? You even ran into the old forest and got eaten by a tiger. What a disaster!"

Cheng Tieniu just kept crying. He wanted to find his father at first, but he walked in the woods for a long time and couldn't find him. He wanted to go back but found that he couldn't find the way.

Then he thought that if he killed someone, he would go to jail, so he might as well hide in the mountains.

He ran around everywhere, but regretted it when it got dark. He was tired, hungry, and scared. Finally, he rolled down the hillside and lay there for a long time, not daring to move.

Cheng Zhengyi advised, "Let's go back to the mountain first. If you want to scold the child, do so when you get back.

Cheng Tieniu's leg was injured and he couldn't walk, so he needed someone to carry him.

It takes two people to carry the wild boar. Wei Qinglang is responsible for identifying the direction and leading them in front, and the job of carrying the person falls on Cheng Zhengyi.

The four of them walked very slowly. Wei Qinglang was in front, taking out a compass and taking a peek at it from time to time.

Cheng Zhengyi was walking in the middle with Tie Niu on his back. He had been cutting bamboo all day and was very tired. It was also very strenuous for a twelve-year-old child to carry Tie Niu on his back. When he was going up a gentle slope, he slipped and fell.

"Wait, wait, don't help me yet."

Wei Qinglang turned back to support him, but Cheng Zhengyi felt something on his hand. When he saw that it was growing in the ground, he thought it was ginseng, so he put down Tie Niu and started digging with his bare hands.

Wei Qinglang used a torch to look around and was a little surprised to see that it was a Gastrodia elata.

Xu Daqing and the others also gathered around and stretched their necks to look. "What is that? Is it ginseng?"

"It's not ginseng, but it should be a medicinal herb from the mountains. You can take it back first." Wei Qinglang replied.

Cheng Zhengyi dug the thing out with his bare hands, and wiped the dirt off it with his clothes with a simple smile. "It's quite big. I think I can exchange it for some money at the pharmacy."

This Gastrodia elata was only slightly smaller than Cheng Shuang's. Wei Qinglang didn't say it was more valuable than ginseng. He smiled and said, "If it's a medicinal herb, it should be worth a lot of money. Uncle can take it to the county pharmacy and ask."

"Okay, I'll ask some other day." Cheng Zhengyi said as he stuffed the thing into his arms.
