Flash Marriage with Dr. Huo

Chapter 59: Mother Huo Enters the Hospital

"Huo Chenyuan, can you just drop me off at my sister's house? It's very close to your Mengxi Pavilion home, okay? Even if it's just an ordinary colleague asking you for something, it's not too much, right?" Ning Tingnan pleaded again.

Ning Tingnan missed Huo Chenyuan so much in her heart. Even if they couldn't be together forever, she would feel satisfied even for a moment longer.

"Even if we can't be together forever, even just for a moment is fine." Ning Tingnan thought to himself, his eyes revealing endless attachment.

She recalled the moments she had spent with Huo Chenyuan. Those simple times, even the quarrels or silences, had become the most precious part of her heart.

But she is also very aware that there are many insurmountable obstacles in reality.

Huo Chenyuan's family, responsibilities and other complex factors are like an invisible wall that separates the possibilities between them.

Despite this, the longing did not diminish in the slightest, but instead became even stronger as we were at an unreachable distance.

At this moment, Huo Chenyuan received Ning Tingbei's message. He looked down at the text on his phone screen, his brows furrowed. He remembered that Ning Tingnan's sister's home was in Menghai Pavilion, not far from where he lived. Logically, sending her there would be a piece of cake.

However, Huo Chenyuan wanted to go back to Qianyue Jiayuan tonight. Of course, more importantly, he wanted to avoid the rekindling of old feelings.

After much thought and considering their old friendship, Huo Chenyuan contacted his family's driver and asked him to pick up Ning Tingnan. After receiving the order, Master Wang responded quickly and drove the familiar black Bentley to the hotel entrance.

After the banquet, Ning Tingnan saw that her driver, Master Wang, was already waiting for her downstairs. Although she was a little disappointed, she didn't say much. She sighed softly, composed herself, and got in the car.

Inside the car, Mr. Wang, as professional and respectful as ever, started the vehicle and drove away smoothly. Along the way, there was no extra conversation other than the necessary safety instructions.

Ning Tingnan looked out the window, the scenery on both sides of the street passed by quickly, and his heart was filled with emotions, both nostalgia for the past and helplessness towards reality.

Soon, the car stopped at the door of Ning Tingnan's sister's house. Before getting out of the car, she thanked him softly and said, "Please give my regards to Huo Chenyuan." Her words were filled with a hint of politeness and distant intimacy.

After watching Ning Tingnan walk into the house, Master Wang drove away.

Huo Chenyuan was driving home, feeling calm and focused. At this moment, his cell phone suddenly rang, breaking the silence in the car.

The screen showed an incoming call from the hospital's emergency center. His heart tightened and he answered the call immediately.

"Hello, Director Huo. Your mother was in a serious traffic accident and is currently receiving treatment," the nurse said. "Also, her blood type is RH negative, which is relatively rare, and the blood bank is short of supplies."

Huo Chenyuan was shocked when he heard about his mother's car accident. He remembered that his ex-girlfriend Ning Tingnan had said that she and her sister Ning Tingbei both had RH negative blood.

When he arrived at the hospital, Huo Chenyuan stood in the hospital corridor, and the phone in his hand seemed to weigh a thousand pounds.

Taking a deep breath, he dialed Ning Tingnan's number. While waiting for the call to be answered, his heartbeat was deafening.

A familiar yet slightly puzzled voice came from the other end of the phone: "Are you looking for me?" Ning Tingnan never expected that Huo Chenyuan would call her.

"Tingnan, I'm sorry to bother you, but there's an emergency. My mother was in a car accident and is in the hospital in critical condition. She needs RH negative blood, which is a relatively rare blood type and the hospital doesn't have enough in stock. I remember you said that you and your sister both have this blood type. I wonder if it's convenient for you..." Mr. Huo said with a hint of pleading.

After a brief silence from Nan, Ning responded, "Sure, I'll be right over with my sister."

In the living room, Ning Tingnan finished the call with a serious expression.

The sunlight shines through the window onto the floor, creating mottled light and shadows.

Huo Chenjun happened to be passing by the living room and caught a glimpse of Ning Tingnan's expression, sensing something unusual. He stopped and asked with concern, "Little sister, what happened? You don't look well."

Ning Tingnan gently put down the phone, turned to face Huo Chenjun, and spoke a little quickly: "Huo Chenyuan just called and said that your mother was in a serious car accident and is now in the hospital for emergency treatment. Her blood type is very special, RH negative, and the blood bank is in urgent need. I have this blood type, so I plan to go to the hospital to see if I can help."

Huo Chenjun frowned, clearly shocked by the news. "So you're going now? I'll drive you there. I'll go get Ning Tingbei."

"I don't want to go." Ning Tingbei said.

Huo Chenjun's eyes swept towards Ning Tingbei, with a hint of imperceptible dissatisfaction hidden between his brows.

He didn't say anything, but behind that silence was a silent protest against Ning Tingbei's decision to refuse to donate blood.

Ning Tingbei lowered his eyes, holding a cup of warm milk in his hand, his fingers trembling slightly.

She could feel Huo Chenjun's gaze, and the confusion and disappointment contained in it.

"I know what you're thinking," Ning Tingbei said softly, breaking the silence. "I understand how critical Mom's condition is, and I really want to help her. But you also know that I'm in a special period right now, and the doctor has told me to avoid any form of stress and risk. This is a difficult decision, but I must first ensure the health of the fetus."

Soon, the outline of the hospital came into view.

While driving, Huo Chenjun looked at Ning Tingnan in the passenger seat with indescribable gratitude in his eyes: "Thank you so much for your help."

Ning Tingnan turned her head to look at Huo Chenjun, understanding flashing in her eyes: "This is a matter for all of us. Family members should support each other. You don't have to say more, I understand how you feel."

After entering the hospital, Ning Tingnan walked into the blood donation area without hesitation and completed all the procedures.

An hour later, Mrs. Huo's operation was completed.

When Mrs. Huo was pushed out of the operating room and into the ward, she saw her relatives surrounding the bed, especially Ning Tingnan, and a flash of gratitude appeared in her eyes.

"Ms. Ning, thank you so much," she said, holding Ning Tingnan's hand tightly. "If it weren't for you, I really don't know what I would do. You saved my life."

Lin Yunzheng also rushed to the hospital, her eyes fixed on Huo's mother lying on the hospital bed.

"Mom, I rushed here immediately after receiving Chen Yuan's message. Let me take care of you tonight." Her voice was gentle, trying to dispel the coldness in the air.

Mother Huo's eyes shifted slightly, her gaze fell on the window beside her, and she replied lightly: "Well, I'm fine, thank you for your concern." This alienated attitude was obviously a silent response to the previous incident, which made everyone present feel a distinct chill.

For a moment, the ward fell into a suffocating silence. Lin Yunzheng's face paled slightly; she had clearly not expected to be treated so coldly.

However, as a member of the family, she quickly adjusted her mood and maintained a calm appearance.

"You go back and rest early." Huo Chenyuan said to Lin Yunzheng, "Mom, I'll be here tonight, and I've also hired a nurse who will be here soon." Seeing his mother's attitude, Huo Chenyuan didn't want to make things difficult for Lin Yunzheng.

Lin Yunzheng nodded.

Huo Chenyuan knew that his mother's attitude stemmed from the fact that the knot in her heart had not yet been untied, and this could not be changed overnight.

He whispered to his wife, "When Mom is in a better mood, I'll arrange a time for us to have a good chat."

"Well, you should take care of yourself too." She said goodbye softly, and before turning away, she didn't forget to leave a message to Mrs. Huo, "Mom, if you need anything, feel free to call me and I'll come right over."
