Chapter 514 It’s Okay to Say Nothing

"Some people simply don't want us to live too well." Liu San finally spoke, his tone somewhat desolate. "Perhaps all this is not accidental."

Qin Cang turned his head and looked at Liu San. He could sense the deep fatigue in Liu San's eyes. Liu San was a very intelligent man. Everyone had always regarded him as a think tank, relying on his judgment and insight. But today, Liu San seemed to be a little overwhelmed.

"You mean, someone is planning all this behind the scenes?" Qin Cang's tone suddenly became much calmer. Although he was still full of confusion in his heart, he knew that anger alone could not solve the problem.

Liu San nodded and said slowly, "There are some people in this world who never allow others to surpass their brilliance. And Xiaohu, his brilliance is too dazzling." He paused, "They don't want to see anyone's ideals conflict with their own interests, even if it's for a better future."

Qin Cang's heart suddenly trembled. He heard the deep meaning in Liu San's words. Perhaps all this really was a huge conspiracy, and the dark forces hidden behind it were quietly approaching.

"What should we do?" Qin Cang finally asked, his eyes as sharp as a knife.

A flicker of hesitation flashed across Liu San's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure and resolve. "The situation isn't optimistic right now. Xiao Hu's grievances are becoming increasingly severe. If we don't act quickly, I'm afraid it will become truly irreversible."

"Do you have a solution?" Qin Cang's eyes became more focused.

"There is a solution, but we need more evidence and more support," Liu San said solemnly. "Now, not only Xiaohu's fate, but the fate of every one of us hangs in the balance in this chess game."

Qin Cang's mind raced with complex images. Yes, Liu San was right. This wasn't just about Xiaohu; it was a crucial decision for the entire team and everyone's future. If this game was truly manipulated by a greater force, as Liu San had suggested, how could they fight back?

He took a deep breath, a sneer gradually appearing on his face. "No matter who is behind this, I will not sit idly by. Xiaohu is innocent, and he will be cleared of all charges."

Liu San didn't say anything else, but just looked at Qin Cang deeply, with a barely perceptible hint of gratitude flashing in his eyes.

Qin Cang stood there, his heartbeat accelerating. He knew his relationship with Liu San had always been close. As comrades fighting side by side, they consulted and collaborated on almost every decision. Countless nights had they sat back to back in the small tent, silently gazing at the stars, exchanging visions for the future and their trust in each other. Once upon a time, they had never doubted each other.

However, everything that happened today suddenly made him feel doubtful.

"Some people simply don't want us to live too well," Liu San said, his low voice like an invisible thread, entwining Qin Cang's heart and sending a chill down his spine. Liu San was a man of deep thought, having seen countless intrigues and deceptions. He was also quite intelligent, having made accurate judgments at many crucial moments. However, today, his eyes seemed to hold an inexplicable struggle, as if he were hiding something.

Qin Cang took a deep breath. He recalled the lonely figure of Liu San standing outside the house that night, and the complex expression on his face. Those subtle expressions were originally something Qin Cang would not care about at all, but today, they were particularly glaring.

He thought back to the days he'd spent with Liu San. He remembered doubting him when they were little—they were still young, easily dismissive and making decisions on the spur of the moment. But those doubts seemed to have faded with time, until today, when this hidden confusion suddenly surfaced.

"Xiao Hu can't possibly betray us." Qin Cang unconsciously clenched his fists, whispering softly in his throat. His voice was hoarse, as if he was trying to force these words out from the depths of his heart. All the evidence pointed to Xiao Hu, but he just didn't want to believe it. Xiao Hu's eyes seemed to illuminate every corner of the darkness. How could he become a pawn of the enemy?

"Xiao Hu..." Qin Cang murmured his name, his eyes locked on Liu San's. "What are you hiding? Why do you want me to doubt you?"

Liu San didn't answer, his face still calm. His eyes seemed to have already seen through Qin Cang and the invisible fog in the distance. What was hidden in this fog made him feel uneasy.

"Liu San, you are not... deliberately making me suspect him, are you?" Qin Cang suddenly spoke in a low voice, his voice filled with unspeakable pressure.

Liu San's body stiffened slightly for a few seconds, then he lowered his head to look at the pipe in his hand and fiddled with it quietly.

"Qin Cang," he finally spoke, his voice a little low. "Some things, if you get too close, it's easy to lose your way. You said Xiaohu was fine, but the facts are right in front of you. You shouldn't keep deceiving yourself." He paused, as if to emphasize his words, "Those accusations are not groundless. We have experienced countless life and death together. You know what I say is not empty talk."

"Are you trying to convince me?" Qin Cang's voice turned colder, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes. He looked at Liu San, and doubts surged in his heart like a flood. "Tell me the truth, Liu San, is there anything I don't know?"

Liu San finally raised his head and looked directly into Qin Cang's eyes, as if trying to discern something. But Qin Cang's gaze was too sharp, and his heart ached as if it had been cut by a knife.

"If you don't believe me, Qin Cang, it doesn't matter if you say nothing." Liu San whispered, as if a kind of fatigue welled up from the depths of his heart, "Anyway... everything will be revealed."

Qin Cang's heart was swirling with mixed emotions. Once trust collapsed, it was like a collapsed dam, impossible to restore. In the past, Liu San had always been his most reliable partner. But now, the Liu San standing before him seemed unfamiliar, even unsettlingly distant.

"What are you hiding?" Qin Cang gritted his teeth and almost squeezed out these words from between his teeth.

"Hide it?" Liu San raised the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a hint of sneer. "Don't you realize that Xiaohu's problem is the one that deserves more attention?"

"Then tell me... who is behind all this?" Qin Cang practically roared, "Xiao Hu is innocent! He's been framed!"
