After traveling through time, I was raised by a little brat
Chapter 32: Tit-for-Tat
Tang Wenshu waited like this, day after day passed, but the goodwill she expected from Song Ke'er did not appear. She began to realize that perhaps Song Ke'er had made a choice and decided to continue to stand by Tang Zigui and stick to her position.
This fact made Tang Wenshu feel a little disappointed, but she quickly adjusted her mindset and thought nonchalantly, "Having someone like you in the class is good, but if they're stupid, it's worse than not having them at all!" After all, in this era, intelligence and talent are what matter most. Furthermore, Tang Wenshu knew that there would eventually be a bigger dispute between her and Tang Zigui.
Thinking of this, Tang Wenshu couldn't help but recall what her brother Tang Qi had once taught her. He had said that if the time really came, Song Ke'er might be a breakthrough point in dealing with Tang Zigui. Because Tang Zigui and Song Ke'er had been together for so long, Song Ke'er might know her private matters. Even if she didn't, it didn't matter. If they could use Song Ke'er to spread misinformation, they might be able to find an opportunity to deal with Tang Zigui.
Although Tang Wenshu grew up in modern society, she is still unfamiliar with the ancient family disputes and needs to constantly learn and adapt. However, she believes that as long as she remains calm and resourceful, she will be able to cope with various challenges.
However, these past few days have not been peaceful. Within the class, various open and covert struggles and tit-for-tat have been constantly unfolding. While not all conflicts are directed directly at Tang Wenshu, she can sense the tense atmosphere around her. Relationships between classmates have become delicate, and everyone seems to be secretly competing for more attention and status.
At the same time, other things were happening in the class. Some students were deliberately making things difficult for others out of jealousy, while others were clashing for personal gain. Although these small actions seemed insignificant, they created an uneasy atmosphere in the class.
Tang Wenshu watched all this and couldn't help but sigh. She had originally thought that the intermediate class would be a harmonious and friendly place, but she didn't expect the reality to be so complicated.
Perhaps her brother was right. Tang Qi once told Tang Wenshu: "Wherever there are people in the world, there will be disputes." This sentence was deeply imprinted in Tang Wenshu's mind, making her begin to think about the nature of the world and the complexity of human nature.
That day, Tang Wenshu arrived at the classroom as usual. As soon as she sat down, she noticed a strange gaze. She looked up and saw a girl in her class staring at her with ill intent. Tang Wenshu's heart tightened, realizing she might be facing trouble again.
Sure enough, when the teacher asked a question during class, the girl suddenly raised her hand and said, "Mr. Du, I think Tang Wenshu should be able to answer this question." Her tone was challenging, drawing glances from the other students. Tang Wenshu took a deep breath, stood up, and tried to remain calm. She looked at the question, realized she knew the answer, and answered it clearly. Mr. Du nodded in satisfaction, but the girl pouted in dissatisfaction.
Similar situations occurred repeatedly throughout the following classes, and Tang Wenshu clearly felt she was being targeted. She knew this was intentional on the part of Tang Zigui and the others, but she wasn't panicked. Instead, she found it somewhat amusing. Since that was the case, let's muddy the waters even further!
Tang Wenshu had already answered two questions in a row, both correctly, but the subsequent ones grew increasingly difficult, exceeding her knowledge. Unable to continue, she remained silent. However, whenever another student challenged her to answer, she would unhesitatingly say "no" and then point to a random student who had nothing to do with the question. This approach avoided embarrassment while also disrupting Tang Zigui and the others' plans.
Of the many students Tang Wenshu singled out, Tang Zigui was undoubtedly the most frequently mentioned. After all, there was a significant conflict of interest between them. Tang Wenshu secretly rejoiced, feeling that his strategy was quite effective.
However, to everyone's surprise, even Tang Zigui encountered a question she couldn't answer. When Tang Wenshu called her name, she stood there without saying a word, her face looking very ugly.
However, the master insisted that she answer the question before she could sit down, and this led to a stalemate between the two. She couldn't bring herself to admit that she didn't know the answer, as doing so would undoubtedly embarrass her as the eldest daughter of the royal family. Finally, Song Ke'er stood up, stating that the master's question was too difficult and that no one knew how to answer it. This move successfully provided Tang Zigui with an opportunity to back down, and the master finally allowed her to sit down.
After sitting down, Tang Zigui glared at Tang Wenshu fiercely, nearly tearing the handkerchief in her hand. Despite her anger, she didn't do anything else extreme. After all, she was a true lady from a noble family.
Tang Wenshu felt that the teacher actually knew everything, but was happy to laugh at them. Perhaps this was also related to the elite education in his Duke's Mansion. After all, survival of the fittest is the law of nature.
Just when everyone thought the class was over, the teacher suddenly posed a difficult question: "Through this lesson, I think you have fully demonstrated how well you understand your new classmates. Next, please write a poem titled 'Tang Wenshu' and hand it in to me tomorrow. Remember, this poem will be posted on the classroom wall."
"Ah! No! We're not familiar with each other!" As soon as the teacher finished speaking, a chorus of complaints echoed through the classroom. Everyone knew they were completely unfamiliar with Tang Wenshu, and their previous treatment of her was simply to intimidate her. However, now, they had found themselves in a difficult situation.
As soon as Mr. Du left, Tang Zigui pointed at Song Ke'er and said, "All this is because of your bad idea! Now, you have to complete the poems for the whole class." The other classmates echoed her agreement and asked her to imitate everyone's handwriting to complete the task.
Song Ke'er felt the pain of being abandoned by Tang Zigui all over again. However, rebelling and playing the fence-sitter wasn't an option. She didn't know how to handle the situation, lacking her mother's guidance. She felt trapped, as if one wrong step would lead to all the wrong ones.
She was filled with remorse and self-blame, realizing that her actions in aiding Tang Zigui in targeting Tang Wenshu had not only caused trouble for everyone but also put herself in an awkward position. However, she was even more disappointed by Tang Zigui's attitude. As a friend and a sidekick, Tang Zigui should have taken responsibility, but now he chose to evade responsibility, placing all the blame on himself.
This left Song Ke'er deeply disappointed, feeling that Tang Zigui hadn't truly taken on the responsibility she deserved. In reality, if Tang Zigui had bravely stood up, explained the truth to the students, and expressed his willingness to take responsibility, the students wouldn't have been so embarrassed by him. Unfortunately, Tang Zigui chose to remain silent, making the situation even more awkward.
At this moment, Song Ke'er deeply felt the fragility of friendship and the complexity of human nature. For a moment, she didn't know what to do. She wanted to ask for help but didn't know who could help her. However, things soon took a turn for the better.
