Tang Wenshu was an ordinary girl, like one of the many stars in the night sky, not dazzling at all. Her academic performance was below average, with nothing to boast about. Yet, during that crucial high school period, her mother resolutely quit her job to be with her wholeheartedly, hoping she would achieve excellent results. After all, the hope of raising a son or daughter to be a successful person has always been every parent's fondest wish.

In this day and age, many parents put aside their careers and personal lives to devote their entire lives to their children's education. Tang Wenshu's mother did the same, meticulously preparing nutritious meals every day to ensure her daughter had enough energy for her intense academic life. Tang Wenshu, deeply aware of her mother's dedication, studied diligently, but the results were less than satisfactory.

Despite her best efforts, her Gaokao scores were only good enough to get into a third-tier university. Faced with the high tuition fees, Tang Wenshu felt incredibly anxious. She knew her family's financial situation was limited, and continuing her education would place a heavy burden on her family. So, she began to consider other options.

At this time, her parents made two suggestions: one was to repeat a year and retake the college entrance examination to strive for better scores; the other was to choose a junior college for teachers. After graduation, she could directly become a teacher. This was also a stable and respectable job for a girl. It also provided benefits such as winter and summer vacations. More importantly, it would be a plus for her future marriage. However, Tang Wenshu was unwilling to give up. She longed to change her fate through her own efforts, so she resolutely chose to repeat her studies.

After 365 days and nights of hard work, Tang Wenshu took the college entrance examination again. Unfortunately, due to excessive psychological pressure, she performed poorly on the exam and was only admitted to a junior college. In desperation, she had no choice but to accept the reality and enrolled at the junior college.

However, although she knew that being a teacher was a stable career option, she had no interest in the profession. She knew that she was just an ordinary person, so how could she possibly be qualified for the important task of teaching and educating people? Therefore, she firmly stated: "How can someone as ordinary as me be a teacher? How can I inspire children to become successful?"

Tang Wenshu chose logistics as her major. During her three years at university, her roommates and classmates often skipped classes to play games or read novels. They were just slacking off on their diplomas, as they would eventually get them. Inevitably, she became one of them. Tang Wenshu particularly enjoyed reading novels about time travel and rebirth. She also wanted to travel back in time one day, ideally with a portable space, to live a different life in another world and build a career, rather than being stuck in mediocrity like herself.

However, imagination is only imagination. Even after graduating from university, Tang Wenshu was unable to travel back in time or be reborn as a child. After graduation, Tang Wenshu looked for countless jobs, selling clothes, handing out flyers, making phone calls, doing door-to-door sales, and even working as a teacher at a training school, but she still couldn't find a satisfying job.

During every job interview, the interviewer would always ask, "Why did you choose our company?" This left Tang Wenshu perplexed, as she had no idea how to answer the question. She simply needed a job to make ends meet. As for why she chose this company, it was because other companies didn't like her, and she had already interviewed with many. Sometimes, Tang Wenshu felt like a failure, unable to answer such a simple question. She couldn't just say it was because others looked down on her. But she knew she couldn't give up. She had to keep looking for a job that suited her and work to support herself.

Eventually, Tang Wenshu found a job as an accountant. It seemed stable and respectable, but in reality, she knew nothing about accounting. On her first day, her supervisor taught her how to balance the accounts and quietly told her that the boss needed someone who didn't know accounting because they were easier to control and could learn anyway.

The job seemed easy, requiring only a comfortable office every day—undoubtedly the dream job for many parents. However, the reality was far from simple. For Tang Wenshu, a recent career starter, it was a nightmare. Despite her best efforts to complete all tasks, colleagues constantly pushed tasks onto her that weren't hers.

Especially at the end of each month, she was faced with endless overtime and a heavy workload. Her headaches were agonizing, as if countless needles were pricking her head, leaving her nauseous and wanting to vomit. However, her body felt as if it had been drained out. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't vomit anything, only retching. Worse still, the dense numbers seemed to constantly be against her; no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't adjust them correctly. Every attempt was like groping in the dark, unable to find a glimmer of light. She felt like she was trapped in a bottomless pit, sinking deeper and deeper, unable to extricate herself.

In order to maintain sufficient energy, Tang Wenshu made a cup of Nescafe coffee, hoping to continue working overtime and strive to complete the data adjustment as soon as possible. Since she started working, Tang Wenshu has suffered from chronic gastritis due to irregular diet and her preference for drinking coffee on an empty stomach to refresh herself. She returned to her seat with the coffee, and half an hour later, the feeling of nausea became more severe. The takeaway food she had eaten in the evening began to reflux from her stomach. She was extremely uncomfortable and bent down to the trash can to try to vomit it out, but nothing came out. Instead, due to her posture, the food got stuck in her throat, and she began to have difficulty breathing. She touched her neck to breathe, but the breath still did not come out, and she slowly fell down, and no one paid attention to her in the office late at night.

Tang Wenshu felt her body grow heavier, and her consciousness gradually faded. She tried to call for help, but no sound came out of her throat. She felt a wave of fear and helplessness, unsure of what to do. Just then, she saw a figure appear at the door—it was the company's patrolling security guard. Upon noticing Tang Wenshu's condition, the guard immediately called the emergency number and rushed her to the hospital.

However, Tang Wenshu ultimately died despite life-saving efforts. The moment her consciousness left her body, she suddenly realized how ridiculous and foolish her previous behavior of working so hard and neglecting her body had been. However, it was too late; she could no longer go back and change anything.

If she had another chance, she would cherish her body and stop letting work dominate her life. She would learn to relax and savor the beautiful moments. Instead of constantly exhausting herself, she would choose to go on a mad spree and hurt those who have hurt her. In this way, perhaps she wouldn't leave this world with endless regrets, as she does now.
