My Mr. Monster

Chapter 40 Cooling down

"Did you really move all the things here?" Lu Xuan looked at Wu Yang in disbelief.

Wu Yang sat aside and nodded, "We live on the floor closest to the roof. I will clean the largest room at the back of that floor."

"Why?" Lu Xuan looked at Wu Yang.

He knew Wu Yang didn't like being around so many people and didn't like moving, but why did he move so suddenly? And without any warning, without even a second thought.

"No reason." Wu Yang said.

"Really?" Lu Xuan looked at Wu Yang suspiciously.

"Yeah." Wu Yang looked at Lu Xuan's slightly thin face and felt inexplicably uncomfortable.

Before Lu Xuan could ask anything else, Wu Yang covered his mouth with his hand. "Don't ask anymore. I'm really fed up with your endless stream of questions. Can you please rest for a while?"

Lu Xuan pried Wu Yang's hand apart, looked at him dissatisfiedly and said, "I'm just asking..."

"Are you hungry? How is your health now? Are you still dizzy?" Wu Yang ignored Lu Xuan's question.

"It's okay... I'm a little hungry. I want to go out for a walk." Lu Xuan said depressedly, "I've been feeling suffocated in the room these days."

"The temperature has dropped. It's estimated that it will snow soon, so don't go out."

"Snowing? Here?" Lu Xuan was shocked when he heard it. "Wouldn't it be even harder to find food then?"

"Well, I originally wanted to make a rabbit or some birds to make soup for you, but I searched for a long time and didn't see any trace." Wu Yang sighed.

When the weather gets cold, those who can run run away, and some hide and cannot be found at all. It is not worth it to run to a farther place.

"There's no need to do all this. We brought so many cans, which should be enough." Lu Xuan said.

Wu Yang frowned at Lu Xuan. "You took that precious food and just threw it at others... How long do you think that many people could eat even if they were stingy?"

Faced with Wu Yang's accusations, Lu Xuan remained silent. He had problems everywhere and he really had no reason to refute Wu Yang. He had not expected that he would become like this. To be honest, he had not expected the temperature here to change so quickly.

"I...I'll listen to you." Lu Xuan lowered his head.

Wu Yang was very satisfied with this answer. He nodded and said, "Since you set the time to seven days, then you should take good care of yourself. What would your family think if you suddenly fell seriously ill when you return?"

When Lu Xuan heard this, he thought it made a lot of sense. If he got injured for no apparent reason, something might really go wrong. He would definitely feel guilty if he made his whole family worry.

"How long will it take before you can go back?"

"There are probably still three days left..."

"I'll clean up the house in the next few days. Do you have any requests or anything?"

"Just make sure it's livable and not drafty. Clean it up if possible. I'm going to get a broom when I get home."

Wu Yang nodded, closed the door and walked out. Lu Xuan lay on the bed and touched the wound that made him feel a dull pain. Wu Yang would help him change the dressing and clean it every once in a while, which touched him very much.

He felt that it was a bit too much to ask a rough man to do delicate work, but what Lu Xuan didn't know was that Han Song originally wanted to help Wu Yang, but was forced to give in under Wu Yang's coercion and inducement, and also taught him how to deal with it.

The wind outside must be very cold, so Wu Yang only left a small gap in his window for ventilation, although the effect was not great.

Lu Xuan, who had been lying in bed, felt that his body was about to deteriorate. He wanted to get some fresh air and go for a run. In order to let him recuperate in peace, Wu Yang even stopped Jiang Jiang from coming to play with him. In the end, he had no chance to relieve his boredom.

The mobile phone announced its retirement early.

Lu Xuan sighed sadly and looked at the gloomy weather outside the window. He felt lucky to be alive.

"Will these soups taste good?" Wu Yang looked at a pot of meat stewed with radish.

"To ward off the cold." Han Song was speechless, but he didn't know what to say.

"Is it cooked yet?"

"If we had prepared it this way before, it definitely wouldn't have tasted good, but you brought a lot of seasonings, so it should be good." Han Song took a small spoonful and tasted it, then said with a hint of satisfaction, "Just wait a little longer and it will be ready."

"Send it to Lu Xuan when it's done. I'm going out for a while." Wu Yang said after taking a look.

"Where are you going?" Han Song asked in confusion.

"Look for wood. I'll lend you my axe later. Although the wood here is not good, we have to make do with it." Wu Yang was helpless. There was no ready-made big bed and no good wood, so he could only go and chop down trees.

"Okay." Han Song nodded and continued to fiddle with the delicious food in the pot.

"Remember, don't let Lu Xuan run around. Don't let him act like a spoiled brat. If he's really bored, just throw that brat in there. And keep a close eye on that girl. I think she has bad intentions towards Lu Xuan!"

"Um... I understand." Han Song continued seasoning awkwardly.

"If anything goes wrong... I'll come find you." Wu Yang left after saying this harsh word, without giving anyone a chance to argue.

Shi Tou, who was trembling beside him, asked Han Song: "Brother Han...will anything happen to us?"

"It's okay, just take good care of Lu Xuan. Call Jiang Jiang over to play and tell her that Wu Yang is gone." Han Song sighed, feeling that the taste of the soup had faded a bit.

"Let me add some firewood first." said Shi Tou.

Han Song continued to season the meat and check whether it was cooked through. Only when he was satisfied did he realize that Shi Tou was still controlling the heat. Just as he was about to speak, he caught a glimpse of Lu Xuan.

"Do you need... help?" Lu Xuan felt that Han Song's eyes were a little strange.

"Why did you run out?!" Han Song was shocked. "Aren't you feeling unwell?"

"How could I lie down for that long? I only got up after seeing Wu Yang leave. He felt like a prison warden to me." Lu Xuan smiled bitterly, "Besides, we're still inside the building, so what's there to be afraid of?"

"Then come over here and warm yourself by the fire." Han Song pointed to the stone. "Don't catch a cold sitting there. Wu Yang said you're too weak to run around."

Lu Xuan twitched his lips when he heard this. He could be said to be strong, but Han Song obviously didn't look as strong as him. It was strange to hear these words coming from Han Song's mouth.

"What kind of meat are you cooking?" Lu Xuan sat next to Shi Tou naturally, then skillfully took out candy from his pocket and handed it to him.

"Thank you, Brother Lu Xuan." Shi Tou's eyes lit up when he looked at Nai Niu Tang.

"You're welcome. As long as you like it, I don't like it anyway." Lu Xuan smiled gently. He looked at the fire and stretched out his hand to roast it.

The sound of whistling wind could be heard in the corridor. Grandma Wang didn't come out. It must be too cold and Han Song didn't want her to catch a cold.

"Will the temperature continue to drop?" Lu Xuan asked Han Song.

"Yes, it's not so bad now. A few years ago, there was a sudden heavy snowfall, and we couldn't see anything overnight," Han Song recalled. "Many people starved to death at that time. It was very desperate."

"Then you are..."

Han Song looked at the meat in the pot and said in a deep voice, "This is all thanks to Wu Yang. It's interesting to say that every time around this time, a group of wolves would appear, and Wu Yang would kill them and not eat them much, leaving them where they were.

It was like he had left it for us on purpose. Now that I think about it, he must have left it for us on purpose. We all knew it, and although we were afraid of him, we also respected him.

"Then... why did he say that some people called him a monster?" Lu Xuan asked with a frown, his tone full of dissatisfaction.

Han Song fell silent upon hearing this, still thinking something was up. He said helplessly, "Anyone who called him that is already dead. Why do you think there are so few people here? We, the beneficiaries, only learned of his nickname when we heard others call him a monster."

……

"Just pretend I didn't ask..."

The flame that had just been ignited was extinguished in an instant. If Wu Yang had helped them so much, but they still called him a monster, then he had to speak a fair word for Wu Yang, but the reality was so cruel.
