Love and choices across time and space
Chapter 139 Family Trip
After a busy and fulfilling series of community activities and charity work, Lin Wan'er and Li Ming felt it was time to take their children on a relaxing and unforgettable family trip to enjoy some warm time just for them.
One quiet evening, the family of three sat on the sofa in the living room and began discussing their travel destination. The child waved excitedly, his eyes sparkling with anticipation: "I want to go to the beach! I want to see the ocean!" Lin Wan'er smiled at the child, then turned to Li Ming and said, "The beach is definitely a great choice. It allows us to relax and enjoy the sun and sand." Li Ming nodded, pulled out his laptop, and began searching for information about seaside trips.
After much discussion, they finally decided on a beautiful coastal city with endless golden beaches, clear blue waters, and a rich variety of seafood. After deciding on their destination, the family began making detailed plans for their trip.
Lin Wan'er was in charge of packing. She meticulously made a list, packing the family's clothes, swimsuits, sunscreen, and other essentials into the suitcases. Li Ming was in charge of booking flights and hotels, carefully selecting from a wide range of options, taking into account both convenient transportation and comfortable accommodations. The child wasn't idle either, having gathered his favorite comic books and toys to entertain himself during the trip.
On the day of departure, the family woke up early and embarked on their journey, filled with anticipation and excitement. On the plane, the children looked out the window at the white clouds with curiosity, asking a lot of questions, which Lin Wan'er and Li Ming patiently answered.
Finally arriving at our destination, the moment we exited the airport, a warm, salty sea breeze blew across our faces. We boarded a taxi and headed straight to our booked hotel. The hotel was right by the sea, and we could see a beautiful ocean view from our room windows.
After dropping off their luggage, they eagerly changed into their swimsuits and rushed to the beach. The children excitedly ran across the sand, leaving behind a trail of tiny footprints. Lin Wan'er and Li Ming held hands and strolled along the beach, feeling the soft sand beneath their feet.
"Wow, the sea is so beautiful!" the child shouted, dashing into the water. Lin Wan'er and Li Ming followed closely behind, playing in the sea together. They built sandcastles and collected shells, their laughter echoing across the beach.
In the evening, the sun gradually set, and the sky was dyed orange and red. The family sat on the beach, admiring the beautiful sunset. "This scenery is so beautiful, like a painting," Lin Wan'er said with emotion. Li Ming hugged her and the child and said, "This is a wonderful time for our family."
The next day, they decided to explore the surrounding area. Taking a local sightseeing bus, they visited ancient fishing villages, mysterious islands, and a magnificent lighthouse. The children were filled with curiosity and kept asking questions.
In the fishing village, they tasted fresh seafood, and the delicious taste left them with an unforgettable aftertaste. "This seafood is so delicious, much fresher than what we eat at home," the child said contentedly.
On the island, they hiked and explored together, seeing many rare plants and animals. Li Ming explained the characteristics and habits of these creatures to the children, which greatly enriched their knowledge.
When we returned to the hotel in the evening, although the family was a little tired, they were in an extremely happy mood.
On the third day, they chose to relax in the hotel swimming pool. The child was like a happy little fish in the water, while Lin Wan'er and Li Ming watched from the side, their faces filled with happy smiles.
"Mom and Dad, can we come here again next time?" the child asked.
"Okay, as long as our family is together, we'll be happy wherever we go." Lin Wan'er replied.
On the fourth day, the family participated in local folk activities. They wore unique costumes, danced and sang with the locals, and experienced the unique cultural charm.
During the activity, the children made friends with some local children and played together. Although they had some language barriers, they all shared the same smiles.
"This trip not only allowed us to see beautiful scenery, but also allowed the children to make new friends. It was great," said Li Ming.
On the fifth day, the trip was coming to an end. The family spent their last moments at the beach, strolling along the beach again, reminiscing about the past few days.
"This trip will become the most beautiful memory for our family," said Lin Wan'er.
Li Ming nodded: "Yes, we will go to more places together in the future."
After returning home, the children posted photos of the trip in their rooms and often shared interesting stories with their friends. Lin Wan'er and Li Ming also often recalled this unforgettable trip during their spare time, cherishing the time they spent together as a family even more.
On the sixth day of the trip, the family decided to rent bicycles and ride along the coastal road. The morning sun shone on the sea, making the waves sparkle, and the breeze caressed our cheeks, bringing a hint of coolness.
The child, sitting in a child seat, excitedly pointed at the wildflowers and seabirds flying by the roadside. Lin Wan'er and Li Ming rode their bikes, admiring the scenery along the way and occasionally stopping to let the child observe something interesting up close.
"Look, the color of that flower is so special!" the child exclaimed in surprise.
Lin Wan'er stopped the car, walked to the edge of the flowers, and patiently introduced the names and characteristics of the flowers to the children. Li Ming took out his camera to record this heartwarming moment.
After riding for a while, they arrived at a small ocean park. The park displayed specimens and introductions of various marine life. The children curiously shuttled between the various exhibition halls, their eyes full of curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
"Dad, why are whales so big?" the child asked, holding Li Ming's hand.
Li Ming squatted down and answered seriously: "Because whales are giants in the ocean, they need a large body to survive in the ocean."
Lin Wan'er watched the father and son with a smile, enjoying this moment full of knowledge and exploration.
At noon, the family spread out their picnic blanket on the lawn near the park and enjoyed the food they brought with them. Bread, fruit, and drinks—simple food seemed particularly delicious in such a beautiful setting.
"Mom, I feel so happy today!" The child said incoherently with his mouth full of food.
Lin Wan'er smiled and wiped the child's mouth: "As long as you are happy, we are happy."
In the afternoon, they continued riding and passed a small fishing village by the sea. The architecture of the fishing village was full of local characteristics, with stone houses, fishing nets drying outside, and fishermen repairing their boats by the sea.
The family walked into the fishing village and interacted with the villagers, who enthusiastically told them stories and traditions of the fishing village and invited them to taste their homemade fruit wine.
"The taste of this wine is very special, with a light fruity aroma." Li Ming exclaimed after tasting it.
As we left the fishing village, the sun was already setting, and the sunset glow painted the sky a brilliant array of colors. We cycled back to the hotel, enjoying the beautiful day.
On the seventh day of their trip, they decided to try some water sports. Lin Wan'er and Li Ming put life jackets on their children and boarded a sailboat. The captain expertly maneuvered the boat, heading out into the depths of the sea.
The sea breeze whistled in his ears and the waves hit the side of the boat. The child was a little nervous at first, but with the encouragement of Lin Wan'er and Li Ming, he quickly adapted.
"Wow, we're flying!" the child shouted excitedly.
After sailing on the sea for a while, they tried rowing. The whole family worked together to row the boat on the sea, feeling the joy of teamwork.
"Come on, we are about to overtake that small boat!" Li Ming encouraged everyone.
Lin Wan'er and the child were also full of energy and paddled hard.
In the evening, they enjoyed a sumptuous seafood feast in the hotel restaurant, including lobsters, crabs, shellfish, and a variety of other delicacies that satisfied their appetites.
"This is the most delicious seafood I have ever eaten!" The child touched his belly contentedly.
On the eighth day of their trip, the family decided to relax, soaking up the sun and reading on the hotel's beach chairs. Lin Wan'er pulled out a novel and immersed herself in the story; Li Ming flipped through a travel magazine, planning his next trip; and the child drew his vision of the sea.
"Mom and Dad, do you think my painting is good?" The child ran over with the painting.
The painting shows a blue sea, a golden beach, and the figures of the three of them holding hands.
"The painting is great, baby!" Lin Wan'er and Li Ming praised in unison.
On this day, they did nothing but quietly enjoy each other's company and feel the flow of time.
On the ninth day, they decided to go to the local market to buy some souvenirs. The market was bustling with all kinds of handicrafts and special snacks.
The child picked out a small wind chime made of shells, Lin Wan'er bought a beautiful silk scarf, and Li Ming picked out some wooden carvings.
"These souvenirs will help us remember this trip forever," said Li Ming.
On the last day of the trip, the family got up early and went to the beach to watch the sunrise again. The sun slowly rose from the sea level, and the golden sunlight shone on them, warm and beautiful.
"This trip is really unforgettable." Lin Wan'er said with emotion.
Li Ming held her and the child's hands tightly and said, "Yes, this is the most precious memory of our family."
After returning home, the child wrote about the trip in an essay and shared it with his classmates. Lin Wan'er and Li Ming also compiled the photos from the trip into an album, which they would look through together in their free time, reminiscing about those wonderful times.
In the days that followed, whenever they encountered difficulties or felt tired, they would think of this trip, the happiness and warmth of being together as a family, and thus be filled with strength to move forward.
