The next stop was Jingzhou, a place famous because of the Emperor Liu Bei during the Three Kingdoms period who borrowed Jingzhou but never returned it. So this time we made a special trip to Jingzhou for a day.

After leaving the hotel, we quickly left the three towns of Wuhan behind. Heading west, we could only see the Yangtze River looming on one side of the road.

The older brothers and sisters in the live broadcast room were full of curiosity about the Mimi RV, because they didn't know whether the hybrid RV usually runs on oil or electricity.

Mimi answered this question for everyone. Mimi usually uses electricity, and the solar panel on the roof can generate electricity when there is sunlight. As for new energy, Mimi has achieved it. It has a strong power storage capacity and is not dangerous.

Generally, the oil can be used to charge the car during long journeys. If you are stuck in traffic, the energy stored in the car can usually guarantee the basic use time of air conditioning and cooking for a day and a night.

This answer amazed many people. It is really convenient. When traveling, I am afraid of traffic jams. Even if it is a gasoline car, I dare not turn on the air conditioner for a whole day.

The livestream room was abuzz with conversation, and more than three hours passed. They were not far from Jingzhou.

This time, Zhang Bei booked a B&B in advance. He thought since he was going out for fun, he should relax.

A big hotel is too restrictive and doesn't have the friendly atmosphere of a B&B. He can also take Xiao Xing out for some fun. Hee hee!

Jingzhou is not far away, the distance is getting closer and closer.

Just ahead is the ancient city of Jingzhou! Built during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it originally served as a dock for official ships. After more than three thousand years, most of what remains today is reconstruction from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Even though it was rebuilt during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has stood by the river for hundreds of years.

The city walls are majestic, upright and solid, and the whole city has its own unique style. Familiar stories here, such as Liu Bei borrowing Jingzhou and Guan Yu's careless loss of Jingzhou, can be seen in novels and TV shows.

The B&B was not far from the food street. They drove to the B&B and went for a walk around the food street.

There's a kind of fish cake that's quite good and everyone loves it. The owner explained that the most interesting thing about fish cakes is that they're so delicious you can't even see the fish!

Fragrant, tender and with the taste of meat!

Fish cakes are made from pork and fish!

Jingzhou fish cake is mainly made with fish and pork.

Fresh grass carp is usually selected, the fish meat is removed and mixed with a small amount of fatty pork, and then egg white, starch, and appropriate amounts of ginger, garlic, salt and other seasonings are added.

Egg white makes the fish cake more tender and smooth, starch helps to shape it, and seasoning is used to remove the fishy smell and enhance the flavor. To make it, these ingredients are first mixed and stirred into a paste, and then steamed and other processes are carried out to finally make the delicious Jingzhou fish cake.

Whether it's cooked in a dish or used to make soup, fish cakes are a delicious meal. Xiao Tao immediately asked the boss to pack it up and send it to the elderly people in Shanghe Village to try.

Then the boss introduced the local specialty Jingzhou Eight Treasure Rice.

The main reasons why Jingzhou Eight Treasure Rice is famous are as follows:

- Rich in historical and cultural heritage: Legend has it that this dish originated from the celebration banquet held by King Wu of Zhou during his conquest of King Zhou. It was later refined by Empress Dowager Cixi's imperial chef Xiao Dai in the late Qing Dynasty and spread to Jingzhou. With a thousand-year history, it is known as the "Eight Treasures of Imperial Cuisine," carrying a rich historical and cultural heritage.

- Unique production process: High-quality glutinous rice is selected and combined with eight ingredients including red dates, lotus seeds, coix seed kernels, longan meat, candied cherries, candied winter melon strips, and candied osmanthus. It is first steamed into a dough, and then cooked with sugar and lard.

This production process makes the eight-treasure rice pudding bright in color, rich in taste, not greasy, and sweet but not cloying.

- Rich and delicious taste: Glutinous rice is the main ingredient, and each grain is plump and soft. The various ingredients provide different tastes and flavors, such as the sweetness of red dates, the fragrance of lotus seeds, and the crispness of nuts. The distinct layers of flavor are endless.

- High nutritional value: Glutinous rice nourishes the middle and replenishes Qi, warms the spleen and stomach, and ingredients like red dates and longan nourish the blood, calm the mind, and strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness. Rich in nutrients, it's suitable as an everyday dessert or a festive delicacy.

- Emotional and Cultural Embrace: As a traditional delicacy in the Jingzhou region, it is an indispensable delicacy for locals during festive occasions. It represents reunion, good fortune, and the yearning for a better life, and carries the deep emotions and hometown memories of the Jingzhou people.

This is the favorite of several girls, and everyone tried it together.

It had not been long since we left Wuhan, and since we were not too hungry, we decided to visit the special attractions in the ancient city area together.

Here, you can visit Zhang Juzheng's former residence. Inside the east gate of the ancient city, there's a must-go street for entering and leaving the city. Zhang Juzheng's former residence was actually rebuilt in 2007. It's a replica of a Ming Dynasty building, consisting of four courtyards.

It consists of an east room and a west garden. Inside the courtyard there are buildings named after Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty, namely, the Sun-Holding Building, the Chunzhong Hall, the Wenchang Pavilion of the Grand Secretary's Mansion, the Divine Turtle Pond and the Zhang Wenzhong Temple.

There are also poems and inscriptions in the garden praising Zhang Juzheng by his descendants. Speaking of Zhang Juzheng, Xiao Taojie thinks of this. As the most famous prime minister of the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Juzheng has always been controversial, but it is generally recognized that he extended the life of the Ming Dynasty for nearly 100 years.

Zhang Juzheng, a first-rank official, not only rectified the administration of officials and practiced strict economy, but was also honest and dedicated himself and had very strict requirements for his family members.

Even on his father's birthday, the servants brought back birthday gifts and rode a donkey back to his hometown to celebrate.

Whenever his son returned to Jiangling to take the exam, he had to hire a car himself.

When his younger brother was seriously ill and returned to his hometown for treatment, he was not allowed to use the government post station. He also wrote to local officials, saying that if he wanted to make laws for the court, he had to set an example himself. When he was in the cabinet and his political life was in jeopardy, he wrote that he was willing to serve the world with a deep heart and not seek personal gain. He did it. For the Ming Dynasty in troubled times, Zhang Juzheng was indeed a rare talent for governing the country.

When he arrived at Zhang Juzheng's former residence, Li Fugui was quite interested in the calligraphy and paintings inside.

We took a lot of photos together. Li Fugui said to everyone that Zhang Juzheng came to Beijing from here and finally returned here, which can be regarded as a kind of reincarnation.

He dared to rectify the government, enrich the country and the people, and ensure the security of the border. He can be regarded as an upright and good official, worthy of respect from future generations.

Li Fugui knew quite a bit about Zhang Juzheng, because there was a Scripture Banquet in the Ming Dynasty. The so-called Scripture Banquet was when university scholars or ministers explained scriptures to the emperor, and the banquet was actually a meal between the emperor and the ministers.

This Jingyan was actually the place where Zhang Juzheng used to influence Emperor Wanli. Usually, Jingyan was held every 10 days.

However, the Wanli Emperor was very interested in the Jingyan, so Zhang Juzheng established a noon lecture for him and compiled a richly illustrated enlightenment textbook, the Emperor's Mirror, which was divided into two parts. The first part included 81 stories of wise rulers who were eager to seek talents and worked hard to govern the people. The second part included 36 stories of rulers who wasted money and labored for the people, wasted money and property, and killed talented people and refused to accept advice, which led to their downfall.

Each story was accompanied by vivid illustrations, which won the favor of Emperor Wanli and the emperor's absolute trust. It was this that gave Zhang Juzheng the opportunity to carry out reforms.

This incident shows Zhang Juzheng's foresight. As the country declined, the Ming Dynasty was in a state of decline and needed good ministers.

At this point, no one can save the situation.
