My wife is too strong, Mr. Chu can't stand it
Chapter 58: Tongtong, Don’t Say Anything
Su Jin reluctantly accepted it, put down his hand, sat back and waited.
Chu Heng didn't waste any words and explained concisely, "We found this child last night in the mountains in the suburbs. No one reported him missing, so he might have been abandoned. You are his mother, so you should understand the situation in your family and whether there is anyone who dislikes him.
If we wait until the police find the family and send the child back, no one can guarantee what will happen to your child in the future."
The simple words had a huge impact on the woman. She lowered her head to look at the thin child on the sofa. Before she could say anything, Chu Heng had already found the screenshots of the live broadcast room.
Seeing Tongtong so dirty, with his face covered with food after eating just a few small pieces of bread, the woman covered her face in pain and almost collapsed.
This is a reasonable reaction of a mother's love for her child. Chu Heng wanted to give her some time to calm down, but Su Jin was already impatient.
Su Jin sighed, "Will crying be of any use?"
Chu Heng looked back at him and was confused about Su Jin's temper.
You could say Su Jin is cruel, but she's willing to take the time to care for a child like this. You could say Su Jin is kind, but most of the time she's cold and doesn't care about other people's feelings at all.
However, Chu Heng did not intend to correct anything, and could only persuade him, "Calm down first, because it was a live broadcast and the situation should spread quickly. I need to understand it clearly before I can prepare.
If we can find evidence that your child was abused and abandoned, we can keep him. Otherwise, if we send the child back, no one can guarantee that he will be so lucky again."
The woman had obviously thought of this. She took a deep breath to suppress her emotions and spoke anxiously, "I am an orphan. My husband is the son of my father-in-law's ex-wife. He had an accident when I was pregnant with Tongtong."
The woman choked up as she spoke. "They don't want to recognize Tongtong and me, but this is our child, and I can't bear to let him go. I've been looking for Tongtong, but I can't find him anywhere."
The words were said and the relationship was almost clear, but a lot of key information was missing.
Chu Heng frowned and could only continue to guide her, "What's your name? Which characters are there? And the names of your husband and his family."
The woman explained it in detail, and Chu Heng typed it out on his phone and then made a call. "I'll have someone check it out first. If we can confirm that they abandoned the child, then we can ensure the child's safety for the time being."
After saying that, Chu Heng walked away and gave Rong Qing a look, asking him to calm the woman down. In short, it would definitely not work to leave it to Su Jin.
Rong Qing's head was buzzing. He couldn't see a thing, let alone hear anything. He could only pretend to be able to see and said a few words of comfort to the woman. Whether he got any response was none of his concern.
Su Jin didn't care. He picked up the water cup and took a sip. He was just waiting for the result before going back to sleep.
Chu Heng walked to the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room and made a phone call, asking someone to investigate. They needed to first determine the situation there so that they could give the police information to ensure that Tongtong would not be sent back after the police investigation.
After dealing with it, Chu Heng hung up the phone and came back, "I have asked someone to investigate. As long as the information is correct, there will be no problem."
Su Jin hummed indifferently, waved his hand and sent the woman away, then stood up and went upstairs in one go without saying a single extra word.
Rong Qing was a little confused. He leaned close to Chu Heng and muttered softly, "Shouldn't we wake the child up so he can see his mother for the last time?"
Chu Heng pursed his lips tightly and said nothing. He didn't know what Su Jin was thinking. At this moment, he couldn't ask any more questions. He simply picked up the sleeping Tongtong and walked upstairs. "You go back by yourself."
"Boss Chu, I'm your disciple now, right? Can I stay?"
"No, he didn't agree."
Chu Heng refused bluntly and went back to his room without caring about Rong Qing.
Su Jin went to bed too late and wanted to sleep soundly, but was disturbed early.
He looked at the person standing at the door with a cold face, holding a silent child in his arms, and felt very angry.
Su Jin didn't want to talk, so he just remained silent.
Chu Heng was also embarrassed. "Tongtong is shy and refuses to be with others. The police came this morning and will stay at home temporarily until the case is concluded."
Su Jin still didn't say anything. Instead, she closed her eyes in disgust and turned over to show them her back.
Chu Heng was embarrassed for a moment, looked down at Tongtong who was silent in his arms, thought about it and walked in.
"He's very well behaved and quiet. Can you just let him stay in your room? He won't disturb your sleep."
Su Jin opened his eyes with a puzzled look on his face, "You mean don't disturb me?"
"I'm afraid you'll get angry when you wake up and see people, and knocking on the door is polite." Chu Heng put Tongtong on Su Jin's bed and bent down to touch his head. "Tongtong, be good. Brother is very tired. Don't disturb him to sleep."
Tongtong nodded with her big round eyes open. After being released by Chu Heng, she obediently crawled into the quilt and lay there very quietly, not moving at all.
Chu Heng glanced at Su Jin, and after making sure that he was not angry, he turned and walked out. He still needed to go to the company, and it was inconvenient to bring the child with him.
This interruption was just a small episode for Su Jin. After the room fell into silence, he fell asleep quickly and stayed asleep until almost twelve o'clock.
When he opened his eyes after a good sleep, he saw Tongtong lying next to him. He was looking at the ceiling quietly with his eyes open, his little hands outside the quilt, pinching his fingers. He was so quiet that he didn't seem like a normal person.
Feeling that Su Jin had woken up, Tongtong glanced at him sideways, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.
Su Jin ignored him, got up from the bed, washed, changed her clothes and walked out.
Tongtong followed behind him, stepping on the ground with her little feet, trying hard to catch up with Su Jin's pace, without saying a word.
It was lunch time at twelve o'clock, and the three old people had already sat down at the table. They were very enthusiastic when they saw Su Jin coming down, and they also liked Tongtong very much.
But Tongtong was too afraid of birth and didn't dare to get close to Su Jin at all. She just stayed close to Su Jin and ate with her hands, not even using the spoon next to her.
Su Jin was a little disgusted and frowned, ordering, "Don't use your hands, it's too dirty."
Tongtong was stunned, silently let go of the rice in his hand and put it back, then sat there motionless.
Chu Yan'an hesitated to speak and asked the servant to bring a new spoon. He slowly asked Tongtong to learn how to use it, but the little guy just stared at the food on the plate without even looking at him.
Su Jin ate half a bowl of rice before looking at Tongtong again. He made a disgusted sound, reached out to take the spoon and stuffed it into Tongtong's hand, then scooped a spoonful into Tongtong's mouth.
He demonstrated it once and then left it alone and continued eating his own food.
Tongtong hesitated for a long time before reacting. He gripped the spoon tightly and started to scoop up the food, eating it in big mouthfuls, as if he was afraid that he would not have the next meal after this one. He looked so pitiful.
But Tongtong was brought back by Su Jin and Chu Heng. Tongtong seemed to believe that these two people were unwilling to contact other people, and would not even look at them. These old people had no chance to get close to them.
After dinner, Su Jin went to wash up, and Tongtong followed him, so Su Jin asked him to wash himself as well.
Tongtong can do simple things like washing hands and rinsing mouth, and no one needs to worry about it. Su Jin was also happy to have some free time, so he lay down on the sofa.
So what Zhou Huihui and the others saw was Su Jin sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed, listening to a novel. Next to him sat a clean child, holding a big apple in his hand and chewing it, but his head was leaning on Su Jin, obedient like a doll.
Zhou Huihui didn’t like children, but she couldn’t help being happy about such a well-behaved child. She kept staring at the child and almost forgot what she was doing.
Zhao Anhui couldn't bear it anymore and tugged at her clothes. Zhou Huihui finally reacted and asked, "Mr. Su, do you want to start the live broadcast directly like this?"
