My wife is too strong, Mr. Chu can't stand it
Chapter 20: A Lake Hidden in the Mountains
The people arranged by Chu Heng acted quickly and started sending photos one after another the next day.
Su Jin looked at the photos and the voice messages sent by the other party. They were all local legends. Su Jin flipped through the photos one by one and finally said, "I know where it is."
"Then when will we go find it?"
Su Jin stood up and picked up her phone, "Now."
Chu Heng was speechless. Didn't we agree to tell him in advance? Why did he just leave like that?
But after waiting for a long time for Su Jin to remember to go look for him, Chu Heng didn't want to waste time, so he immediately told Chu Yan'an, arranged his itinerary on the way to the airport, and rushed to Yucheng as quickly as possible.
They took a plane to Yucheng, and then took an off-road vehicle to the place in the photo. Su Jin asked Chu Heng to start from the stone wall and head east.
Although they were driving on the highway, they could see every landmark. Su Jin looked at the map on his phone and pointed to a lake sign on the map after driving for two hours. "Here."
Chu Heng immediately entered the target location and started navigating, from the cement road to the dirt road, and finally the dirt road was cut off.
Several cars were forced to stop, and the bodyguards hired by Chu Heng asked local villagers to lead the way. It took more than an hour to reach the destination.
It is a lake hidden in the mountains. According to local people, there are water ghosts in the water. The surrounding area is also eerie and very cold in the summer. No one has lived there. In previous years, when the land was reclaimed, the area was planned to be used for farming, but people who went there would get sick and could always hear strange noises.
When they got nearby, the villagers refused to go in. After all, the sun was about to set and they were afraid of something happening.
Chu Heng did not force them. Even though they knew the place, they did not know the way and might take a long time to get around. Since they were already there, there was no need to keep the villagers.
Chu Heng gave them the reward and let them leave, then continued to lead his men forward.
The lake, surrounded by cypress trees, is about the size of two football fields. No one knows how deep the water is. Just as the villagers said, it is eerie and makes people feel uncomfortable.
Su Jin looked around and confirmed that this was where he hid his things. He sat down on the shore, closed his eyes and felt the surrounding atmosphere.
There is a lot of yin energy, but it is hidden and will probably not appear until night.
Su Jin opened her eyes and looked back at Chu Heng who was holding up his phone. She asked him curiously, "What are you doing?"
"No signal." Chu Heng put down his phone and walked over. "This place is too remote. It's a protected area. If you want to move anything here, you must contact the local authorities. Besides, it's very late now. We may have to leave first and come back tomorrow."
Su Jin frowned and said unhappily, "There are my things in there, I want to take them first."
"I can coordinate and get your things back."
"It's very important, you can't take it away." Su Jin made the decision unilaterally. He would take these away at that time, and there were people escorting him, which proved that these things were very important and there were people willing to sacrifice their lives for them. Chu Heng could not make this decision.
Chu Heng hesitated, "But you hid the thing down there, so you can't get it even if you want to."
"Of course I have my own way." Su Jin continued to stare at the lake. "Take your people away. I will go back by myself after I get them."
"It's too dangerous for you to be here alone." Chu Heng disagreed. "Not to mention the large wild beasts in the mountains, the wild boars alone are dangerous enough."
Su Jin raised an eyebrow, "Could anyone be in danger?"
"Can you be more serious?" Chu Heng said helplessly, "If you want to stay here, I can ask the bodyguard to go farther away. If you encounter danger, there will always be someone to take care of you."
"It's up to you. I'm not responsible for scaring them to death."
"What do you mean?"
Su Jin didn't say anything. He could feel that there were at least dozens of wronged souls here. He couldn't be sure whether these wronged souls were the ones who transported these cultural relics back then, but it was very troublesome to have such a large number of wronged souls gathered together.
Seeing that he didn't say anything, Chu Heng also thought of what the villagers had said before. Could it be that there really is a ghost here?
Chu Heng's eyes darkened, and he immediately turned around to give orders to his bodyguards, asking them to set up the tent, leave two portions of food, and return immediately to stay at a nearby villager's house. He should call the local authorities to mediate the matter the next morning and prepare for the salvage operation.
The bodyguards acted quickly and set up the tent in just a few minutes. They also left them with two high-powered flashlights and stun batons for self-defense.
Chu Heng took the food and sat back down next to Su Jin. "The bodyguard will contact the local authorities tomorrow morning and will arrive around noon. Can you get the things during this time?"
Su Jin nodded. He would be able to get it in the evening, but it would be more troublesome.
Soon the sun set and the surroundings became quieter and colder.
Chu Heng couldn't bear it any longer, so he took two coats from the backpack in the tent. After both of them put them on, Chu Heng asked, "Are those things here?"
"Your great-grandfather might be here. You'd better bring something that can prove your identity." Su Jin narrowed his eyes and looked at him. "Maybe he can protect you."
Chu Heng blinked and looked at him, "I thought you would protect me."
"You are a burden, and I never protect burdens."
Chu Heng was even more embarrassed. He said helplessly, "You have such a bad temper, you must be someone of status, right?"
"I told you already, but you still ask? You really deserve to be punished."
After Su Jin finished arguing with him, she stopped talking and just waited quietly until it was completely dark. He took out a lighter and lit it, but it went out instantly when the cold wind blew past.
Su Jin raised his eyes and looked in the direction where the cold wind was blowing. A head was floating on the water.
Ghosts usually stay at the time of the body's death. The head was covered in blood, and a piece of the left ear was cut off. It was looking at him very vigilantly.
Su Jin continued to light the lighter, and the flame rose. The head on the water blew over again, extinguishing the fire.
Su Jin raised an eyebrow and suddenly asked, "What was your great-grandfather's name?"
"Chu Yuandong."
Su Jin stared at the head, his eyes cold, "I heard it, call Chu Yuandong out."
The head was confused for a moment, and the next second it sank into the water. Half a minute later, heads floated out of the lake one after another. Some were clean and looked like human beings, but some were already bloody.
Su Jin took a quick glance and counted thirty-six people. He was very confused because he remembered there weren't so many people.
Chu Heng stood quietly by without saying a word. After looking in the direction Su Jin was looking several times, he finally took off the necklace from his neck.
The moment he put down the necklace, the coldness around him became more and more obvious. When he looked over, dozens of heads in the lake had already reached them.
This scene was a bit too exciting. Chu Heng shivered uncontrollably, his heart pounding.
He looked at Su Jin in disbelief, "Why did they all die? All of them died here?"
"You should ask them. I didn't kill them." Su Jin rolled his eyes at him and said to the thirty-six heads, "Is the thing down there still there?"
When the ghosts heard Su Jin's question, they immediately perked up and started talking at once.
"How do you know there's something underwater?"
"Are you here to take us home?"
"Have we completed our mission? Can we go home now?"
