Ultra: Dragon Sword Journey

Chapter 51 The fog is coming

(The shadow of childhood is coming)

Since the Demon God incident, the members of the Victory Team finally enjoyed a rare period of peace and quiet. With no more special incidents to report, everyone began taking turns taking leave, enjoying this 24-hour luxury.

During their vacation, the team members each chose different ways to relax. Some chose to go home to reunite with their families and enjoy the joy of family life; some chose to sleep in the base and explore the unknown world in their dreams; and some chose to stay at the base to improve themselves and train.

However, this tranquility didn't last long. Late that night, a meteorite plummeted from the sky in a remote mountainside. It landed in the mountains, causing a massive explosion and sending a cloud of dust and dirt burying it. The peculiar magnetic field it carried interfered with communications, severing the connection between the TPC and the cosmic observatory hidden within the mountains.

At D, a facility under the Space Development Bureau at TPC headquarters, the atmosphere was unusually tense. Every staff member was like a bowstring stretched to its limit, their nerves on edge. They worked relentlessly on various instruments, their eyes glued to the data and images on the screens. Beads of sweat formed on their foreheads, yet their hands dared not pause for a moment. Everyone had a single goal in mind: to quickly restore contact with the Space Observation Center.

Not long ago, they received news from the Space Observation Center: a massive meteorite was rapidly falling toward Earth! Since then, communication with the Space Observation Center has ceased, and no matter how hard they try, they cannot re-establish effective contact. This sudden change caught everyone off guard, and the once orderly work situation suddenly turned into chaos.

In the mountains where the meteorite had crashed, the scene was even more bizarre. A mysterious light, like the brightest star in the night sky, suddenly burst forth from the deep crater. The light was so intense that it illuminated the surrounding mountains and forests as brightly as day. Then, clouds of mist, as white as snow, slowly drifted out of the crater. These mists danced softly, like a veil, drifting away in all directions across the mountains and forests.

As the mist spread, it seemed to possess life and consciousness, swiftly and nimbly swarming towards the nearby villages where people gathered. Wherever the mist passed, the grass and trees trembled, and even the birds and animals that inhabited the forests fled in terror.

Even more terrifying, as the mist invaded the village, the terrifying parasites it carried began to reveal their hideous features. These parasites, resembling tiny demons, silently attached themselves to the unsuspecting villagers, then frantically devoured their hosts' bodies and souls. For a time, the entire village was plunged into endless panic and despair...

At the Space Observation Center, not far from where the meteorite had landed, several researchers in white coats were like ants on a hot pan, their anxiety flaring up after hearing the noise. They had intended to report the meteorite fall immediately to TPC headquarters, but the unique magnetic field created by the meteorite acted like an insurmountable wall, ruthlessly blocking radio signals. Faced with this sudden predicament, they were at their wits' end.

Suddenly, a piercing alarm blared like thunder, and the entire observation center flashed a frightening red light. A strange white mist, like a ferocious, venomous snake, slowly slithered in from the tiny ventilation vent above the observation center. Within it lay a strange parasite brought by the meteorite. Like hungry tigers pouncing on their prey, it attacked the researchers frantically, clinging to their necks like a demon.

Seeing the terrifying white fog approaching, the researchers were terrified and fled the entrance of the cosmic observation center like headless flies. But the white fog, like a cunning hunter, swiftly drifted in pursuit like a ghost, eventually swallowing them all up in the vast mountainous area, controlling them like puppets.

After a week of contact loss at the Space Observation Center, like a kite with its string cut, the Space Development Bureau reported this puzzling incident to the Victory Team. The Victory Team, enjoying their rotating leave, quickly assembled and launched into action. Da Gu and Ju Jing, piloting the Feiyan-2, sped like a bird toward the mountainous area in the direction of the Space Observation Center, attempting radio contact.

"I'm Dagu. Headquarters received this message, please reply. So far there is still no news from the Space Observation Center." The big screen was clearly showing the real situation inside the cabin of Feiyan II. Dagu's eyes were as sharp as an eagle. He was vigilantly watching the slightest movement around the mountains and forests, while reporting the situation in detail to the base command room via radio.

"It may be closely related to the meteorite incident that disappeared like a shooting star in that area a week ago. In short, we must be extremely alert!" In the command room, Zong Fang said with a solemn face and a serious expression.

"I understand!" Dagu replied firmly.

"Da Gu, you have to pay more attention to Dijing recently. That guy was dumped by his girlfriend again recently and just suffered a heavy blow of heartbreak." At this time, Xincheng suddenly teased like a child.

"What do you care? Just worry about yourself!" Jujing replied, his eyes widening as he scrambled over to the video chat. He'd just hit his head in the cabin and was feeling the pain, and suddenly Xincheng was exposing his shortcomings in front of everyone. It was really too much. Besides, people in their line of work don't have the luxury of spending time with their girlfriends on a romantic date. It would be strange if he didn't break up with you after breaking up so many times!

"Don't worry, after all, I have a handsome face that can charm everyone." Xincheng said to Jujing with a smug smile on his face.

"And I, Jujing, also have an extremely intelligent brain. Just wait and see, I will definitely invent a fascinating miracle drug and win the Nobel Prize." After saying that, Jujing hung up the video call.

Digging a well's bold words caused everyone in the command room to burst into laughter. Xincheng laughed so hard that he fell backwards and shouted, "What a fool to invent a fascinating medicine!"

"Do you really want to develop a charming drug?" Dagu in the cabin couldn't help laughing and asked.

"For me, the word 'impossible' doesn't exist at all," Jujing said confidently.

However, at this moment, radio communication suddenly ceased. Alarms blared from the Feiyan II fighter, like the tolling of a death knell. Sparks flashed like meteors, as if from a mechanical failure. The entire fighter was engulfed in arcs of electricity, and like a bird with broken wings, it careened and plummeted towards the forest below. "Headquarters, this is Dagu! We're out of control!" Dagu frantically manipulated the control stick from his seat, but it was all in vain.

The entire fighter plane plummeted like a falling meteor, continuing its downward spiral toward the forest. At the critical moment, Dagu unleashed his magic like an angel descending. The Shield of Holy Light shone with a warm glow, like an indestructible shield, tightly enveloping him and Dijing, shielding them from the violent storm.

"Dagu, that's a truly masterful move! Talent or not, I'm determined to learn magic like you!" Dijing said enviously. Protected by the Holy Light Shield, Dagu and Dijing felt a powerful surge of strength, and a blazing fire of hope ignited in their hearts.

However, the fighter plane's descent accelerated like a wild horse, leaving them like a small boat in a raging storm, facing immense danger. BANG!!! Fortunately, the fighter plane wasn't flying very high. After colliding with the ground for a distance, it crashed through some trees and came to a sudden stop, raising a cloud of dust and smoke that obscured the sky.

Dagu, slumbering in the cabin, like a vigilant cheetah, keenly heard heavy footsteps around him, and suddenly, the deafening roar of a monster. He jolted awake instantly, looking at the still-sleeping Jujing before him. Relieved, he stepped out of the cabin, only to discover that the sky outside had already brightened to the color of dawn.

Inside the command room, Daiko and Hori, crew members of Unit 2, vanished like kites with their strings cut. Iruma Kei acted decisively, dispatching Shinjou in the Hiyan-1 to search for them. However, surprisingly, Hiyan-1 also lost contact in the mountainous area, as if under a spell. Iruma Kei realized that some mysterious magnetic field, like an invisible hand, had abruptly severed the wireless communication.

So, she decisively dispatched Zong Fang and Lina to conduct a ground search. Since science was powerless at this point, she could only resort to the power of magic! She had Ye Rui notify Zhao Ming and request his assistance in locating the two.

Beep, beep, beep… A burst of rapid PDI communication sounds suddenly rang out, and Zhao Ming, who had been sleeping soundly, jumped up instantly like a lion awakened. After understanding the situation, he stood up without hesitation and sprang into action like an arrow from a bow.

"What's wrong?" Maya asked with concern after waking up from sleep.

"It's okay, just a small problem. I have to temporarily help the Victory Team carry out a search mission, which will be done soon." Zhao Mingyun said calmly.

"Then you must be careful." Maya stood up and, like a gentle wife, carefully helped Zhao Ming tidy up his clothes.

Zhao Ming leaned over, placing a gentle kiss on Maya's forehead, then concentrated on casting his search magic. The Dragon Slaying Sword in his hand shone with a mysterious and brilliant light, seemingly resonating with the light of Ultraman Hero and Ultraman Achilles, both of whom share the same origin as Tiga. Through this close connection, Zhao Ming, as if possessing clairvoyance, successfully determined Daiko's location.

The light guided him like a beacon. Zhao Ming used Apparition to quickly locate Dagu and Jujing, like a ghost. They were fleeing like frightened birds, accompanied by a girl in yellow. A strange white mist followed them closely, like a shadow.

"What happened to those people just now?" Dagu asked, dreading the thought of the maddened crowd. They seemed possessed by a strange, onion-like creature, controlling their movements, and they attacked with weapons like hungry wolves. He didn't want to unleash his ultimate on the innocent crowd; perhaps he could rescue them from the demon's clutches!

"Are you asking me? There's no way to investigate now, so how would I know? What an idiot!" Dijing responded unhappily.

"Stop, the group of people just now didn't catch up." Dagu looked back and saw a group of strange creatures like ghosts mixed in the white mist, flying towards them with their fangs and claws bared.

"Da Gu, use water magic quickly! These guys are afraid of the power of water elements!" Zhao Ming's voice reached Da Gu's ears from afar.

Hearing Zhao Ming's warning, Dagu began to concentrate on gathering the magic power within his body. His hands trembled slightly as he moved them in a specific gesture, while he whispered an ancient and mysterious spell.

As Dagu continued to chant the spell, magical power seemed to be drawn in, continuously flowing out of his body, and gradually gathered around him into a dazzling blue light. This light became increasingly stronger, and finally turned into a surging, majestic and powerful stream of water.

Dagu suddenly opened his eyes, his eyes were firm and sharp, and he shouted loudly: "Go, Waterfall Technique!" Then, he waved his arms, and the water stream like a giant dragon roared and rushed into the air.

The stream of water streaked through the air, carving a graceful and spectacular arc. Wherever it passed, the air seemed to rip apart, emitting a deafening roar. In the blink of an eye, the water slammed into the strange, onion-shaped creature dancing freely in the air with the force of a tidal wave.

With a resounding "bang," the water and the onion-like creature collided with a thud. The immense force of the water instantly engulfed the strange creature, making it completely unable to escape. Under the fierce impact of the water, the onion-like creature's body began to shake violently, and cracks appeared on its once hard skin.

Just a moment later, with a terrifying hissing sound, the onion-like creature's body finally couldn't withstand the powerful force of the water and completely shrivelled up. Its body, once filled with evil aura, now became limp and lifeless as it fell from mid-air.

Dagu watched the strange, onion-shaped creature vanish into thin air under his attack. A heavy weight finally settled on him, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He gently wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead, turned to look at Zhao Ming, and a triumphant smile spread across his face, like a flower blooming in the sun.

After seeing the flying monster being defeated by Dagu's ultimate move, Jujing walked over quickly with the girl in yellow. His face immediately filled with joy and he couldn't wait to ask, "Zhao Ming, why are you here so suddenly?"
