Rebirth of the Star God Agent

Chapter 25 Lance Kate and His Light——Song Mo

Song Mo's family was middle-class. Both his parents were scholars, with two professors in the family. This was considered a very good situation outside of China, and Kate's family didn't mind such a cultured family. The key issue was Song Mo's gender.

Although they have entered the interstellar era for so many years, the Kate family is still a very traditional family.

Lance's parents also struggled with his sexual orientation for quite some time. The reason they were so insistent back then was because of the complex family dynamics behind Lance's family.

Lance's parents only have a pair of children. Lance's mother was frail when she gave birth to Jane, and she is unable to have children again. However, the Kate family owns dozens of uninhabited mining planets and the huge profits behind the energy company, making it impossible for Lance's parents to ignore the family heritage.

Lance is not the only one in the Kate family. Other members of the Kate family have been eyeing such huge benefits.

Back then, Qi Ji and Song Mo were young and ambitious and fearless.

Between Song Mo and Lance, it was Song Mo who took the initiative to pursue Lance. Lance was handsome and well-educated, and he was very graceful, which made Song Mo fall in love with him at first sight.

Lance was initially troubled, then helpless, until he was assassinated by a member of Kate's family. When Lance was injured and fleeing, he was met by Song Mo, who often blocked Lance's way.

Young Song Mo did not stop Lance from fleeing, but hid in the dark and secretly called the police. He attacked the killer who was chasing Lance from behind.

The assassins were a team of four, and Lance, unaware of this, desperately escaped danger despite being injured.

The sneak attack only caused some minor injuries to one of the assassins. Song Mo wanted to stop the four assassins from chasing Lance, so he gave up running away.

He fought a desperate battle with four killers.

When the four killers were about to kill Song Mo, federal armed police arrived.

However, the killer's dagger still pierced Song Mo's chest.

The killer's hand was deflected because of the warning shots fired by the armed police officer.

Song Mo almost lost his life.

Song Mo was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Qi Ji went to the hospital to visit Song Mo, who had been unconscious for a day and a night. When Song Mo woke up, he saw Qi Ji and asked him: "Where is Lance? Where is he?"

Qi Ji learned the whole story from Song Mo.

Qi Ji told Song Mo: "Lance doesn't even know that you saved him. He didn't make any movement during the two days you were in the hospital."

Song Mo was silent. Yes, Lance didn't know that someone had helped him trip the killer from behind, leaving him a way to escape.

And there is a high possibility that that person will die in obscurity after Lance escapes.

Even the people he rescued were unaware.

Qi Ji felt very uncomfortable, mostly because he felt it was not worth it for Song Mo.

He asked Song Mo whether he should tell Lance that it was Song Mo who saved Lance?

Song Mo shook his head. He smiled bitterly and said, "This is all my personal choice. It has nothing to do with him. I took the initiative, so why should he bear the guilt? If I were implicated by him, I would probably pester him as a matter of course. But..."

Song Mo closed his eyes. He said softly, "Isn't this all just wishful thinking on my part? He's still alive and well, so there's no need to mention it anymore."

Qi Ji always remembered that after Song Mo finished speaking, he pulled the quilt and buried himself.

Qi Ji knew that Song Mo was really sad.

Under the bulging quilt, there were the soft sobs of a young man.

Qi Ji made up an excuse to leave the ward. He knew that Song Mo needed some space to calm down.

When Qi Ji walked out of the ward, he saw Lance, wearing a hospital gown and bandages on his forehead and arms, standing at the door of Song Mo's ward.

Lance looked at him, his eyes red. He said nothing, brushed past Qi Ji, and entered Song Mo's ward.

Qi Ji glanced at the ward door closed by Lance and thought that he would probably be gone for a while.

No one knows what Lance and Song Mo said.

However, Lance was discharged from the hospital not long after. Lance did not come to the hospital to visit Song Mo again.

Song Mo's emotions seemed to have stabilized since then, but in reality, only Qi Ji could sense it.

Song Mo seemed to have buried all his emotions. He would occasionally lose his mind and look into the distance.

Qi Ji didn't know what Song Mo was thinking. He also didn't ask what Lance and Song Mo said after he left the ward that day.

However, Song Mo never blocked Lance again. He even deliberately avoided the activities of the seniors who were two grades higher than him.

He no longer mentioned Lance all the time. Qi Ji thought for a moment that they were really over.

Lance rarely appeared again after that, because Song Mo almost perfectly avoided all areas where Lance would appear.

Until Lance graduated.

On the day of the graduation ceremony, the younger students in the two grades below had a day off, and only the graduates celebrated the ceremony.

In the auditorium, the graduates took turns to come on stage, described their future, thanked their instructors and teachers, and thanked their classmates.

Lance stood in front of the podium and looked blankly at the students and teachers below.

He instinctively wanted to find the lively and noisy junior.

He looked for a long time but couldn't find the man until the instructor came to him and reminded him.

He suddenly came back to his senses.

Lance didn't see that there were two people hiding in a corner far away.

Song Mo, who was pulled here by Qi Ji, was very quiet.

The two stood quietly in the corner. Qi Ji knew in his heart that graduation was a very important day for Lance.

For Song Mo, this was probably his last chance to see the person he had buried in his heart.

Qi Ji didn't want him to have any regrets, so he dragged him here.

Song Mo looked at the handsome young man on the stage, tears falling silently. But he said nothing, and did not leave the hidden corner.

Lance's voice rang out from the stage.

He said: "Some time ago, I was being chased and a boy saved my life."

The audience was in an uproar.

Lance lowered his head, and no one could see his expression. He continued speaking in a calm voice, saying what he wanted to say.

"He saved me. But I didn't even realize it was him who saved me. I just ran away, leaving him alone to face four assassins."

There was a loud bang from the audience and everything went haywire.

The classmates were talking about it, and some even stood up from their chairs, questioning why Lance abandoned his savior and ran away alone.

Song Mo's eyes widened in horror in the corner. Why? Why did Lance say that? It's obviously not true!

Lance clenched his fists. The instructor frowned and glanced at Lance, signaling the students to be quiet.

Lance didn't argue. He just continued, "After escaping, I was hospitalized."

"Then." Lance raised his head, his eyes red and tearful. "I met the boy who was almost killed in my place and is also in the hospital."

The students in the audience were listening very carefully, they wanted to know what would happen next.

"I used to be afraid of him. Even though he was lively and sunny, making a lot of noise every day, like the sun, I was really afraid of him." Lance smiled. It was a bitter smile.

The audience was still very quiet, and everyone was listening to him quietly.

"Because," Lance's hands trembled a little, and there was a slight tremor in his voice, "I found that I couldn't refuse him, who was like light."

Lance's smile began to brighten, but the tears in his eyes revealed his inner sadness.

"I think he's so intense and so warm. So, I can't imagine it."

He said: "I can't imagine if I had the warmest and best sunshine, but then I would lose it. I am afraid of this outcome. I can't even imagine what I would become."

He spoke more fluently.

"So, while I was enjoying the warmth he brought me, I told him that I didn't need him to do this."

He lowered his head again.

“I’m terrible.”

"Today, I am leaving the academy. I will walk towards my own future."

He laughed. He laughed until tears came to his eyes.

"I finally lost my light. From now on, I..."

Lanston was stunned.

He stared blankly at a familiar figure running out from the corner.

The light rushed towards him.

The boy moved toward him, determined and eager.

He lunged towards him and jumped into his arms.

Lance caught the boy who jumped on him out of inertia.

The boy buried his head in his shoulder.

He only heard him crying.

The boy cried and said, "You didn't even know I was there! I hid on purpose because I wanted you to be alive and well. I didn't want you to be in danger."

Lance smiled. He hugged Song Mo tightly in his arms.

He smiled at the audience and said, "From now on, I will never let him down again. My life plan will also end with him."

The audience was silent for a long time, and finally a classmate stood up.

He said: "I wish Kate a happy life with her boy."

As soon as he finished speaking, thunderous applause, screams, cheers and whistles rang out from the audience.

Song Mo and Lance started their relationship in the most brilliant way.

No one could have known that two people who had started their love relationship with such a bang would end up breaking up so decisively.
