Traveling through Thailand
Chapter 5 The End of High School Life
Noticing someone approaching, he came back to his senses and saw two claws reaching out. Without saying a word, he kicked them with both feet.
"what!"
"Sigh~"
The sudden kicks startled everyone, but then they all looked amused: "I thought he was a cool person, but he's actually quite fiery! It's okay, it's more fun to play with someone who has personality."
As soon as he finished speaking, his lackeys burst into laughter. Their laughter made Xiao Zhou's body pressure drop again. If Sky saw his eyes at this moment, he would know that this group of people was finished.
To prevent being kicked again, several people surrounded and attacked him this time. When Xiao Yi was caught on purpose, Gun walked up to him with an arrogant step and reached out to take off his mask and hat: "Let me see what you look like under the mask."
When his hand was about to touch the edge of the mask, their faces were full of excitement. Unfortunately...
A scream pierced the air, and everyone looked in shock at Gun, who was clutching his crotch, and at passersby A and B, who had just been holding the man and were now wailing while clutching their dislocated arms. They then looked at Xiao Yi, who stood still, and in unison took a few steps away.
"You bitch, you're so shameless." Gun endured the piercing pain and stood aside like a shrimp, shouting to the other group: "Why are you hiding? He's alone, everyone come with me. Mada, I want you to know that there is no good end to offending me."
With the benefit, the group of people surrounded him again, shrinking the circle even smaller. Gun saw the encirclement getting closer and closer, and the pained expression on his face became a little fierce, and he was even more looking forward to what would happen next.
It's a pity that the idea is good, but the reality is...
He stopped in front of a closed toilet door and knocked on it: "Sky, it's safe outside. You can come out."
With a click, the door opened.
What caught his eye was a pair of eyes as red as a rabbit's from crying, followed by a pale face. Xiao Yi looked at him gently: "I'm here to pick you up."
Sky came out of the bathroom and hugged Xiao Yi tightly, so hard that it felt like his waist was about to break. Xiao Yi patted his back comfortingly: "It's okay, it's okay."
Three minutes later, Sky tugged at his clothes, head lowered, following closely behind him. When he passed his ex-boyfriend and his group of friends, he only glanced at them briefly before immediately looking away. He tugged harder at the hem of his clothes, and followed even closer, so close that he felt like he might step on someone's foot if he wasn't careful.
He let him sit on the sofa and poured him a glass of water. Xiao Yi glanced at the watch on his wrist and estimated that the police would be here soon.
"Who of you called the police?"
Xiao Yi raised his hand: "I reported it."
"Is it them?"
"Yes. I still have videos of them threatening and destroying public resources." He shook the phone in his hand after saying this.
"Okay, but you still have to come with us."
The rest of the story was easy. With enough evidence and the other victims' accounts, they wouldn't be released for seven or eight years. When the trial was over, Gun left with a vicious look in his eyes, as if he wanted to drink their blood and eat their flesh.
Why was the sentence so low? Was it because someone's family had spent a fortune? He heard the family had generously compensated the victim in the hope of securing a written agreement of forgiveness. He'd learned that eight families had signed, while the remaining ten were financially secure and determined to bring justice to the perpetrators of their children's crimes. But...
Xiao Yi rubbed his fingertips as he walked out of the courtroom. "It's the same in every country, except... sometimes, paying more doesn't guarantee satisfaction." He believed that during their time in prison, those people would receive better labor reform.
Because of this incident, Xiao Yi met Sky's father. He looked at his child with red eyes, opening his mouth to say something before closing it again. In the end, he just gave him a hug. Seeing them silently shedding tears and comforting each other, Xiao Yi walked away, giving them enough space.
After this incident, life returned to normal. From that day on, Sky followed Xiao Yi to and from school every day, picked up his martial arts homework, and never took off the red string chain on his hand.
Time flies, and high school graduation season has finally arrived. Those who did well on their exams are beaming with energy. Xiao Yi, sitting in his seat, continues to read novels as usual. Over the past year or so, he's changed not only the books, but also the genres. This time, he's reading a novel about the prehistoric world. I heard the heroine was chosen by the author's number one coin.
To avoid a book shortage, Xiao Yi posted an ad online asking for recommendations for good Longguo novels, regardless of genre. He would collect offline books for himself when his parents returned home, or when he returned for the Lunar New Year. He chose to ignore his parents' objections.
Compared to what he saw online, he still prefers paper books. So, he now has a room filled with books he bought from Dragon Country, of all kinds. He especially likes the popular novels, which he even divides into several categories, such as danmei, time travel, interstellar, and apocalyptic.
He also had a section of his apartment reserved for novels, but mixed in with some introductory Chinese books, the color of which suggested they had been read a lot.
Sky, who was living in Xiao Yi's living room, held the pinyin he had just memorized in his hand and asked: "Yi, which university are you going to choose?"
"Same school as you."
"Really? Are you going to choose architecture with me?"
"What else can you learn in architecture school if you don't study architecture?" I took the dictation paper from his hand and said, "Now that you've passed the pinyin dictation, you can learn simple Chinese characters next."
Sky took the paper and said, "Then let's go sign up together."
"Ah."
Sky wasn't worried about whether his overall score was good enough; he was the only one in school who knew how talented his deskmate was. Having successfully passed the Gaokao, after the graduation ceremony, many left the school in groups of two or three, but most of the students were saying their final goodbyes. The walk home was bustling with activity, as boys and girls scrambled to hand over envelopes and handmade jewelry, and Sky, who had followed along, also grabbed quite a bit. Upon returning to the classroom, he saw a mountain of envelopes and handmade items.
"I didn't expect such a crazy wave to come after graduation." Sky put the things in his hand on another empty seat: "Did you bring a bag today?"
Xiao raised an eyebrow and said, "Why don't we leave these to the next grade?"
"No," Sky righteously rejected this unreliable approach: "They will be sad if you do this."
Xiao Yi was speechless: "It's not me who is sad, why think so much."
Sky put his hands on his shoulders and said seriously, "No way, you wait here for me, I'll go buy the bags."
When most people on campus had left, Xiao Yi and Sky looked at the two large bags and fell into deep thought.
"Sure enough, I'd better just leave it here. I can't move it anyway."
"No, I will never agree to that."
Xiao Yi was frustrated by his insistence and ultimately called his father's assistant to help him move the "junk." Yes, that's right, to him, these things were just junk, useless except for easing his longing for them. With the assistant's help, the bags were quickly loaded into the car. Back at his newly rented apartment, at Sky's insistence, he took the bulging bag of envelopes upstairs.
"You are really boring. If you have so much free time, why not come to my company and do odd jobs?" Seeing him opening the envelopes with great interest, she felt disgusted when she occasionally got letters that gave her goose bumps.
Sky put down the letter in his hand: "Don't you feel happy? They have liked you for more than a year, and they wrote to you on the day of graduation. How much courage did it take! Aren't you touched at all?"
