Traveling through Thailand
Chapter 187 Extra 5-2
Ever since that encounter, their relationship had begun to change. From that day on, Pete hadn't been seen around school. Walking around campus, I'd occasionally hear people say that Pete was only there to experience student life. Others said he was there for a mission.
He had no interest in knowing the truth of the matter. After this incident, whether he came to school or not had nothing to do with him, let alone being his deskmate for just half a month.
only...
Tu Cha heard a knock on the door, looked silently in the direction of the door, then got up helplessly and went to open the door.
I opened the door and saw the expected face. I stepped aside to let him in, then expertly took out a larger medicine box and placed it in front of him. After that, I ignored him and went to the kitchen to make some red date porridge, a blood-tonifying drink.
Staring blankly at the porridge in the pot, he wondered why things had turned out like this between them. Normally, their relationship should have ended after that day. So why, two months after that incident, did he start coming over?
And for all the anti-inflammatory drugs, hemostatic drugs, painkillers, anti-inflammatory water, etc. that he used up, shouldn't he ask him for some medical expenses?
Before Pete returned, he sent a message to someone to check all of Tucha's information. All the information they found showed that he was just an ordinary person. Furthermore, after two months of surveillance, they confirmed that he had no connection to any faction.
Therefore, when Pete was injured several times during missions and could not get timely help, he would come to this unremarkable residence. He didn't know why he chose to come here at that moment instead of running to a safe house to treat himself. But he knew one thing, that is, this person would not hurt himself.
This state continued until he graduated from university. On graduation day, he went to a bar with some close classmates. It was his first time in a bar and Tu Cha was very excited.
He had let himself go, unknowingly drinking several glasses of wine. Drunk, he struggled to steady himself, staggering to the bathroom. He found an empty stall and vomited profusely. Only after his stomach was almost empty did his groggy mind regain some clarity.
After flushing away the vomit, he leaned against the wooden door for a long moment, waiting until he heard someone calling him. Only then did he open the door and walk out. With the cold water washing him back to consciousness, he looked in the mirror. The corners of his eyes were stained red from the intense vomiting.
The cold water splashing on his face couldn't dissipate the pain at all. He stopped wasting time and walked out of the bathroom.
He was walking with his head down and didn't notice the person leaning against the wall at the corner. When he passed by him and heard a familiar voice, he stopped and turned to look.
"Pete?"
Pete, who was leaning against the wall, glanced at him up and down: "Are you looking for those people who called you just now?"
Tu Cha nodded.
"Don't look for them. We've caught them."
"?" Caught? What does that mean?
He didn't explain much, just said: "If there is nothing, just go back. This is not the place for you."
Tucha watched him leave, then turned and walked obediently toward the bar entrance. After all, it's better to listen to advice and eat a full meal, right? Besides, his outfit and that invisible aura made it clear that she had to listen to him, otherwise the consequences would be serious.
He returned home, showered, and prepared for bed. After warming up his bed, he heard a knock on the door. He ignored it and closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep. After the knocking stopped, his phone rang.
The noise had completely wiped out his sleepiness. He picked up his phone in frustration, saw the name on the display, ruffled his already messy hair, opened the door and let the person in.
Pete came in and glanced around: "The house is still under renovation, why not stay there for a few more days?"
After graduating from university, he decided to stay here temporarily. He rented a house, using the first floor for his shop and the second floor for his sleeping quarters. Because the second floor was still under renovation, he built a nest on the first floor as a temporary residence.
Why not live? This is still the system, all of this is his fault.
The system, which hadn't popped up in years, suddenly popped up just as he was about to graduate, saying the house in the old district was being sold by the original owner. So, he had to move out quickly before this "relative" he had never met came back.
Initially, he planned to return to China after graduation, so he vacated his dorm room early. Unexpectedly, the system brought him this message the next day, stating that he couldn't return yet. When he asked why, the system simply said his permissions were too low to explore.
He had no choice but to use an agent to find an apartment. He figured he'd need to find work after graduation, but he didn't want to be a slave, so he decided to rent a shop. Once the shop was rented out, he moved out. It wasn't that he didn't want to wait until the renovations were complete, but the deadline given by the system was too tight, leaving him no way to delay.
“The house was sold.”
"That's it."
Pete thought about the latest news he had received recently. That area had been targeted by another force, and they were looking for those homeowners to buy their houses at extremely low prices. So his relative must have been threatened and sold the house.
"Even so, we can't live here. There's so much dust and formaldehyde from the renovations." He looked at the bed in the corner and said, "How about staying at my place first?"
"Your place?"
"Well, I usually live in my family. If you don't mind, you can stay at my place first."
Doubtful, Tucha tilted her head and asked, "Since you already have a place to live, why do you want to rent a new house?"
Pete didn't respond to this question, but just glanced at him: "Do you live?"
He certainly wouldn't refuse a place to stay. When he asked again, Tucha nodded firmly and said, "Stay."
He brought someone over that night to have Tucha look at this deserted house. He was certain that the house had never been lived in since it was rented.
Why are you so sure? Just reach out and gently wipe the shoe cabinet, and you can see clear marks on it.
Pete didn't stop his movements, and there was no embarrassment on his face. He pushed open the bedroom door and said, "Don't worry, there won't be any dust where you sleep."
Seeing the clean bed, table and chairs inside, he was sure that someone had lived here before, but just not for a short time.
After settling the people, Pete returned home and lay on the bed thinking back to the idea that had popped into his mind that day: to buy his own house.
When he learned that the old town had been targeted and the compensation was very low, the figure of the Taoist priest immediately appeared in his mind. He thought about the dormitory he had rented and how it might be forcibly bought... In a fit of rage, he bought this two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment.
It was not until he got the property deed in his hand that he realized what he had done.
After doing this, he even considered killing himself with a piece of tofu. He could have rented a new house or even stayed in a hotel; he could have easily found a place to live. But at the time, he didn't think about that and simply used the savings he'd accumulated over the years to pay for the down payment.
He'd already bought the house, but with his current status, the chances of him living there were slim. He'd thought about selling it back after a while. But when he went to see where Tucha was living today, he got carried away and took her there again.
Pete, regretting it afterwards, tossed and turned in bed, forcing himself not to think about it, but the scene of taking people back kept reappearing in his mind.
Not feeling sleepy at all, he sat up from the bed and walked to the fitness area. He decided that since he was not sleepy at all, he would use the time to exercise.
