Traveling through Thailand
Chapter 177 Missing
Tucha looked up at the lush, leafy tree overhead, thinking that if he chose to stay, she would bless him. If he chose to leave and return to his original world, she would have Tay introduce him to the wealthy second-generations he knew, so that he could quickly forget him.
"Tu, if I choose him, will you be angry?" Jom said after a long moment of contemplation, not daring to look up at Tucha's expression. He was worried that if he said that, he would make her think that his lover was above all else.
But Jom's idea was different. He thought that since he was here, if he had the same idea about himself, he would love and live a good life in the limited time. When he really left, he would return to the modern world with such beautiful memories.
If he doesn't have it for himself, then he will do his job as a steward until he leaves.
When Tu Cha heard him say this, she didn't get angry as he thought. She asked him if he would choose to stay or go back if he had the chance to go back.
"will not."
"?" Jom couldn't believe what he heard.
Tu Cha looked at him softly: "I respect your choice."
"Don't you think I'm selfish?"
Tucha shook her head. "As long as I won't regret the choice I make now, I believe every decision Jom makes is carefully considered."
"Well, thank you." Because of your company, I don't feel lonely and afraid.
"Okay, let's not talk about these things that ruin the mood." Tu Cha picked up a piece of chicken feet and put it in his mouth: "Why don't you take some up to him? It will save him from always looking down through the window."
"Hmm?" Hearing him say that, Jom subconsciously turned around and looked towards the windowsill where Yai would peek.
But how could Yai, who had been paying attention to his movements, be caught so easily? He was able to be caught before because his attention was completely focused on Jom. Now that he made the move to turn around, he would definitely be able to react in time.
So Jom turned back several times but failed to catch his little tail. Seeing them playing hide-and-seek like this, Tucha felt that this claw was in no mood to eat.
He looked up at the sun in the sky, estimated the time, and then stood up and brushed off the leaves stuck to his butt. "Okay, you can continue your battle of wits and courage with your young master. I've been out long enough, so I'll go back first."
Hearing that he was going back, Jom gave up the game of hiding from me.
"So early?"
"It's getting late. The sun is already halfway west."
I waved goodbye to him and turned to leave.
After everyone left, Jom cleaned up the leftovers and carried the unopened jar to Yai's office.
"Master Yai."
He had already heard the footsteps and picked up the documents, pretending to be working hard. But Jom had already seen through his flaws, but to save face as his host, he tried hard to keep the corners of his mouth raised.
"Well, Master Yai, this is something Tu specially gave you. Do you want to try it now? Or should we wait until dinner?"
"Keep it for yourself."
"???" Jom paused unraveling the rope and looked at the young master, who had been acting strangely for a few days. Now, he wasn't even eating the pickled shrimp he'd said he wanted. He'd sent Tu to deliver this yesterday. What was going on? Who had offended him again?
Jom was puzzled. But he still obediently picked up the jar and replied with a puzzled look, "Then I'll put it in a cool place and take it out when you want to eat it." Then he carried the jar to the kitchen.
I have been wondering why the young master is like this. Jom didn't notice the person behind him, who looked like he wanted to say something but hesitated. Especially the eyes that kept staring at the trajectory of the jar. If he turned around now, he could see his desire.
Unfortunately, Jom didn’t have eyes on the back of his head, so he just carried it back to the kitchen.
After putting his things down, he sat down next to Prik.
Prik looked at the extremely depressed Jom and asked, "What's wrong?"
He took a deep breath and exhaled: "It's not your young master, I don't know what's wrong, he never tells me what he wants to do or say directly, always making me guess. I'm not a worm in his stomach, how can I guess what he's thinking. Huh~ really..."
Jom propped his chin up in his hand. "Now he won't even eat the pickled shrimp. He said he wanted to eat them after Christmas. Why are you saying you don't want to eat them now that you have them?"
Prik glanced at the jar beside him and asked, "Is this where the pickled shrimp that's been all the rage lately are stored?"
"Hmm." Jom leaned over and whispered, "Auntie Prik, do you want to try it?"
"How can this be? This is the young master's share."
Jom said he didn't care: "It's okay, Tu brought an extra portion this time, let's eat it together at dinner time."
"May I?"
"Of course." Jom said with a bit of embarrassment. "But, can Aunt Prik tell me what Master Yai likes to eat the most?"
"no problem."
Tucha was walking back from Jom's place when he realized someone was following him. He squatted down several times, pretending to pick wildflowers, but his heart skipped a beat when he caught a glimpse of someone's clothes peeking out from behind a tree.
His heart pounding, he clutched the flowers tightly in his hands, trying to control his trembling body. But the more he tried to stop it, the more it shook. The observers, hiding nearby, also noticed something was amiss with him. From his violent trembling, they knew they had been discovered.
They walked slowly forward with weapons in their hands. Tu Cha heard the voices behind him and wanted to escape but his feet seemed to be rooted and he did not react at all.
"Since you have discovered us, please come with us."
Without waiting for his reply, she was held by both arms and walked in another direction.
Ming, who was washing crabs at home, looked up at the sky and frowned in the direction where Tucha had left in the afternoon: "It's already this late, why hasn't she come back yet?"
Man, carrying washed shrimps and crabs, passed by his son and saw his son staring at that direction. "What's wrong, Ming? He looks worried."
Ming's hands subconsciously bathed the crab, and he said worriedly: "Tu said he would be back before three o'clock, but now it's already this late and he's still nowhere to be seen. I'm a little worried."
Man's heart began to worry after hearing his son's words. After all, Tu was no longer the same person he had been when he first arrived. He was now a small business owner, and the success of this shop was all thanks to the sauce he had personally prepared.
I don't know why, using the same steps and seasonings, the sauce they created just wasn't as delicious as his. Otherwise, such a common dish wouldn't be so popular.
"If I had known earlier, I should have let you go with me."
"Or I'll go along that road and see if he's on his way back."
"Okay, then go and come back quickly."
Ming put down his work and ran in that direction. Because he was running so fast, he didn't notice the cloth bag left in the grass. If he had paid more attention, he would have found that this cloth bag was the one Tucha was wearing today.
He ran to where Jom was working and saw him sitting there scraping coconut flesh with his hands.
"Jom."
Jom stopped what he was doing when he heard someone calling him.
"Ming? Why are you here??"
Ming looked around and didn't see any familiar figures, and his uneasiness deepened.
"Where's Tu? Isn't he here?"
"Tu? He went back a long time ago. Didn't you see him?"
Ming's brows furrowed when he heard his reply: "Something must have happened to him. I should have followed him if I had known." After saying this, he immediately went back in the direction he came from.
Seeing him so anxious, Jom also began to feel uneasy. He stopped scraping the coconut meat in his hand and ran to Yai and said bluntly, "Master Yai, Tu is missing. I need to go find him."
Yai, who was still arguing unilaterally, frowned when he heard him say that: "I'll go with you."
"Okay, thank you, Master Yai."
With that, the two of them immediately ran out the door.
They walked along the path Tu might have gone, searching and calling out as they went. Finally, Ming found the bag halfway back. He immediately came to Jom's side and said, "Something must have happened to him, otherwise the bag wouldn't have fallen in the bushes."
Jom took the cloth bag from his hand, opened it and saw that all the money inside was still there.
"It's not a robbery."
"Let's look around again. I'll go back and get some help. It'll be faster if we all look together."
"it is good."
Tu Cha was blindfolded and stumbled along the way. He walked for an unknown amount of time, until he could barely walk anymore, when he finally felt the guide stop.
The blindfold was removed, and Tu Cha blinked several times before finally seeing clearly where she was.
Seeing the man with a face full of flesh sitting on the chair, his heart trembled: "Who are you? I don't think I have offended you?"
"You haven't offended me, but since we invited you here, it means you have something we want."
Tucha swallowed his saliva, his brain working rapidly, trying to think of what treasures he had that he would want. But after thinking for a long time, he could only think of the schoolbag that could produce food, and nothing else.
"You, you want my bag?"
After hearing what Tu Cha said, the man opposite him looked stern, and it immediately made people feel that he was not someone to be trifled with.
Seeing him like this, Tu Cha trembled even more violently, thinking that he was right. He had nothing else important except that schoolbag!
"You really don't know what I want?"
Seeing how scared he was, the other party frowned and looked at him with disdain.
"Please, please tell me clearly." Tu Cha uttered these words with difficulty. He felt that if he had not been kneeling on the ground when he came, he might have prostrated himself on the ground.
"Hmph, secret recipe."
Secret recipe? Tucha was confused.
When Tu Cha heard that what he wanted was a secret recipe, she stood there in a daze, and even forgot to tremble as she looked at the man opposite her.
"Hasn't the secret recipe been spread out?"
It was normal for him to be confused, because on the day the small workshop was established, he basically prepared the seasoning in front of everyone, and the seasoning was also made in front of them. So when faced with the problem at hand, he was really confused.
"I'm talking about the seasoning you didn't mention."
Tu Cha opened her mouth to say something, but facing that ferocious face, she couldn't utter the four words "no hidden seasoning".
The other party saw that he just opened his mouth but couldn't utter a word, and the expression on his face was not unpleasant.
"If you don't tell us, don't blame us for doing something to you."
As soon as he said this, the people standing on either side of him took a step closer to him. Tu Cha was even more frightened by their actions. His body, which had forgotten to tremble, began to shake, and his teeth chattered, making it impossible for him to utter a word.
Seeing that he was so scared that he couldn't speak, the people around him just spoke out their contempt.
