I'm Dreaming of a Journey to the West

Chapter 73: The two demons’ greed for money led to internal strife, and Li Chen designed a plan to d

Benboerba and Baboerben opened other boxes, and the items inside those boxes were all the villagers' most precious things. Among them were the precious catches they had spent a whole year fishing for; the precious furs of wild animals they had hunted in the mountains; and the food they had grown day after day, working hard from sunrise to sunset.

Li Chen watched as these two demons defrauded the villagers of Ping'an Village of so much wealth and possessions. He couldn't help but feel a surge of intense resentment, a nagging itch. No wonder the villagers of Ping'an Village wept day and night, even losing the will to live and desiring death. If these demons hadn't robbed them of all their wealth, who would willingly die? Who wouldn't want to live a good life?

At this moment, the two demons looked at the mountains of gold, silver and treasures as well as those priceless treasures in the box, with greed flashing in their eyes.

Benboerba looked at the mountains of gold, silver, and treasures before him, and a surge of greed surged in his heart. However, faced with such a huge amount of wealth, how to properly distribute it became a thorny problem. He frowned, cast his gaze at Baboerben beside him, and asked softly, "Brother, with so much gold, silver, and treasures, how should we divide them up?"

Ba Boerben was secretly delighted when he heard this. He certainly hoped that he could get more money and treasures, after all, these money and treasures were earned through his hard work.

Then, Baboerben smiled slyly and said to Benboerba, "Do you even need to ask? You play the good guy and I play the bad guy, so of course I'll get more money!"

Upon hearing this, Benboerba's eyes widened and he roared angrily, "Why? It was clearly me who came up with the plan and tricked the villagers' money into coming here. You're just a supporting role, how can you get more than me?"

Ba Boerben responded calmly, "Hmph, don't forget, without my cooperation, could you have succeeded? I've been helping you the whole time! Therefore, I should get more in return."

Benboerba was so angry that he stamped his feet. He felt that all his efforts were in vain. He glared at Baboerben and shouted, "No, this is not fair! I want a bigger share of the money and treasures, otherwise I will not give up!"

Seeing this, Ba Boerben was not willing to be outdone and threatened, "Don't go too far. We are good brothers. We can't quarrel over such a small matter. If you insist on doing this, I will take action!"

Upon hearing this, Benboerba became even more furious. He hadn't expected Baboerben to be so heartless and ungrateful as to challenge him for the money and treasures. He gritted his teeth and said, "Well, you dare to threaten me! It seems there's no brotherhood between us anymore. Don't blame me for being rude!" Then, he prepared to fight.

Seeing this, Ba Boer Ben knew that the battle was irreversible. He clenched his fists and thought to himself, "I must defeat this beast and get more money!"

"You heartless fellow, I'm going to fight you!"

Baboerben's eyes flashed with anger. He decided to fight Benboerba to get more money and treasures. So, he clenched his fists and rushed towards Benboerba... A fierce battle was about to begin.

The two monsters exchanged fistfights, a fierce fight, then each drew their weapons, preparing for a life-or-death duel. Benboerba muttered something, and suddenly a long black whip appeared in his hand. It shone with an eerie light, clearly no ordinary item. Not to be outdone, Baboerben swung his hands and conjured a pair of sharp hooks, their gleaming cold light sending chills down his spine.

Each raised his weapon, a fierce glint in his eyes, and without hesitation, they engaged. For a moment, whips swung, hooks clashed, and the air around them seemed to rip apart. It truly lived up to the saying, "People die for money, birds die for food!" The two monsters, so close just moments ago, were now killing each other over a mere sum. It was a profound irony.

However, they were unaware that Li Chen and Fairy Hibiscus were quietly standing not far from them, silently observing their every move. Li Chen watched the farce unfold before him, his lips curled slightly as he secretly rejoiced, "I didn't expect them to start fighting amongst themselves. This is great! I've saved a lot of energy. This will also save me some mana when I deal with them later."

Fairy Hibiscus looked at the two monsters with a cold expression, without a trace of pity in her eyes. She knew that these monsters had committed many evil deeds in their daily lives, and they deserved the fate they suffered today.

At this moment, she was extremely anxious, hoping that Li Chen could resolve these two problems as soon as possible to avoid any more trouble. Fairy Hibiscus used magic to ask, "Master, shall we start now?"

Li Chen shook his head and said telepathically, "Don't you see that they're fighting over the villagers' property? If we act rashly, they might get desperate and destroy the villagers' property. That would be very difficult to deal with!"

"So, we have to find a way to make them hand over the money!"

Fairy Hibiscus nodded, indicating that she understood. Li Chen continued, "How about this! You transform into the King of Inspiration, and I transform into the Nine-Headed Insect. Together, we can trick the villagers out of their money and get it back!"

As he spoke, Li Chen transformed himself into the form of a Hydra. He was clad in sturdy armor gleaming with mysterious runes, and in his hand, he held a blood-stained halberd, emitting a frightening aura. His hair transformed into the nine heads of the Hydra, each with a different expression and demeanor: some ferocious, some cold, some sinister, and some cunning. It looked strange and insane!

Fairy Hibiscus also transformed into the King of Inspiration, emitting a powerful demonic aura. In her hands, she held the two enormous nine-petaled copper hammers. Clad in blood-red armor, the two exchanged a smile, ready to begin their deception.

Li Chen thought to himself: To make the trick convincing, I must do it right. So, with a decisive wave of his arm, countless beans suddenly appeared in the yard like raindrops. These beans quickly gathered together, as if drawn by an invisible force, eventually converging into a well-organized army. This was the magical spell that Li Chen had cultivated in Jiuhua Mountain—the sowing of beans into soldiers—which could transform ordinary beans into powerful soldiers.

After everything was ready, Li Chen and Fairy Hibiscus looked at each other. They understood each other and decided to break through the door without hesitation.

With a loud bang, the tightly closed door was instantly shattered. Immediately afterwards, two angry shouts echoed throughout the courtyard: "Well, you two dared to hide money from the Grand Ancestral Water Witch?!!!"

Li Chen had transformed into the majestic Nine-Headed Insect, while Fairy Hibiscus had transformed into the ferocious and brutal King of Inspiration. The two of them, leading a dense and murderous army of demon soldiers behind them, stormed into the courtyard with great momentum.

Each of those demon soldiers held an extremely sharp weapon, with a serious expression and a strong murderous intent in their eyes.
