I'm Dreaming of a Journey to the West

Chapter 398 Everyone stays in their own place and waits for the disaster to end!

The images displayed by the system clearly showed the figures of Tang Sanzang and his four disciples. However, what was shocking was that each of their bodies was covered in scars of varying sizes, crisscrossing each other, as if slashed by countless sharp blades. Not a single piece of undamaged skin could be found. Clearly, the fierce battles with the demons had left indelible scars on the master and disciples on their journey westward.

Tang Sanzang and his disciples knelt before the Buddha, and Sun Wukong, known for his fiery temper, spoke without hesitation. His eyes widened, his face filled with rage as he shouted, "Buddha! Demons and devils are rampant and wanton these days, their crimes too numerous to count! I beg you to show mercy and personally eradicate these demons and monsters, restoring peace and tranquility to the Three Realms!"

The Tathagata Buddha, seated on the lotus platform, nodded slightly, first slowly clasping his hands together, and then responded slowly: "Wukong, it's not that I don't want to help, it's just that all this is destined."

"Fate?!"

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong's rage instantly soared to its peak. He stood up abruptly, pointed at the Buddha, and roared, "No matter what kind of calamity, those innocent people shouldn't have to endure suffering! Is it just because they're powerless? I, Sun Wukong, will never tolerate such injustice!"

Faced with Sun Wukong's indignant questioning, Tathagata Buddha remained unmoved. He simply shook his head, then turned to the silent Tang Monk and said in a gentle voice, "Xuanzang, now that things have come to this, it's clear that this calamity is beyond your power to resolve. It's best for you all to remain in your own places and wait for the disaster to be resolved!"

"What?!!!"

Li Chen and the Monkey King in the image uttered the same words almost in unison, a line that contained not only confusion but also anger. How could one not be infuriated when the gods and Buddhas, faced with the suffering of the common people, responded with words like "end it and wait for the disaster to be resolved"?

After hearing these words from Tathagata Buddha, Sun Wukong in the picture said nothing. He just stood up angrily, produced his own golden cudgel from his ear, and then turned around and left the Great Leiyin Temple.

Tang Sanzang, Zhu Bajie, and Monk Sha exchanged glances, then nodded in understanding. Then, they all reached out to grab their weapons and walked through the majestic gate of the Great Leiyin Temple with firm and steady steps.

At that moment, behind the numerous Buddhas and Bodhisattvas at Lingshan, a figure dressed in a snow-white robe slowly emerged. This young man was as handsome as a jade, and the pair of shimmering dragon horns atop his head added a touch of mystery. His clenched fists emitted a heart-pounding, creaking sound, like bones rubbing and colliding. Along with this sound, an invisible pressure gushed out from his body. He was like an enraged dragon, radiating endless majesty and rage.

"Buddha!"

Suddenly, the young man shouted loudly and quickly emerged from behind the Lingshan Saints. In the blink of an eye, he was on his knees, respectfully prostrating himself before the Buddha.

"So it's the Bodhisattva of the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Beings and Dragons, Guangli Bodhisattva."

The Tathagata Buddha narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze fixed on the kneeling youth before him. With a hint of doubt, he asked, "I wonder why the Bodhisattva has come here today?" His words betrayed his bewilderment at the Bodhisattva's actions. After all, the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons Bodhisattva Guangli was usually taciturn and rarely appeared before the public.

However, facing the Buddha's question, Little White Dragon Ao Lie did not answer immediately. He took a deep breath, then raised his head, staring intently at the Buddha, and said in a resolute and powerful voice, "I, your disciple, wish to follow my master and fellow disciples into the mortal world to quell the demonic plague that wreaks havoc on mankind! For this reason, I have come to tender my respects to you, the Buddha!"

After saying this, he did not wait for the Buddha to respond. He gently waved his right hand, and a cold light flashed. A beautifully shaped and powerful spear instantly appeared in his hand.

Little White Dragon Ao Lie suddenly leaped up, spear in hand, and dashed forward like an arrow. At the same time, he shouted, "Master, brothers, wait for me!"

In this way, he resolutely followed Tang Seng and his three disciples who had already gone ahead, and together they embarked on the road of slaying demons and eliminating evil, which was full of difficulties and dangers, but also full of justice and hope.

In the end, a heartbreaking scene unfolded—Tang Sanzang and his disciples perished tragically at the ruthless clutches of Tongtian Patriarch! Meanwhile, Little White Dragon was not spared either, falling to the brutal attack of Wu Rushou, the Forefather of Gold in Chang'an City.

Faced with such a tragic situation, people realized that if the situation continued to deteriorate, no one would be able to escape this terrible disaster. At this critical moment of life and death, the mysterious Heavenly Dao used its magical powers to bring Li Chen from another world into this chaotic world.

"Everyone stay in your own place and wait for the disaster to be resolved!"

The moment these solemn words reached Li Chen's ears, an uncontrollable surge of rage washed over him. He clenched his teeth, his facial muscles twisted and deformed with extreme resentment, his teeth grinding against each other with a harsh, creaking sound, as if he were chewing up all the hatred and resentment and swallowing it whole. Even a trace of blood oozed from his gums, but he completely ignored the pain, feeling only anger and helplessness at the situation before him.

Li Chen was very familiar with this sentence. He recalled the time when he was immersed in the exciting plot of a TV series, and the solemn words of Tathagata Buddha still echoed in his ears.

However, what was astonishing was that this Tathagata Buddha, supposedly transcendent and detached from worldly affections, was actually caught up in a lingering love affair in the lower realms, and in this one conversation, he developed an emotional entanglement with three women! Such a shocking act truly exceeded people's imagination.

Even more incredible is that when disaster struck, everyone looked forward to the Buddha stepping in to turn the tide and save the people. But who could have foreseen that it was not the Buddha himself who ultimately averted the catastrophe, but the Tang Monk and his four disciples who had endured 81 trials and tribulations.

Specifically, it was the powerful and fearless Sun Wukong who became the key figure in turning the tide. In the series' finale, facing the ruthless demon, Sun Wukong undauntedly sacrificed himself, risking his life in a desperate struggle. After a thrilling battle, Sun Wukong ultimately defeated the demon, allowing the Tathagata Buddha to return to his throne.

But in the world we now inhabit, the situation is completely different. Despite the utmost efforts of Tang Sanzang and his disciples, even at the cost of their own precious lives, they were ultimately unable to prevent the onset of the great catastrophe. This catastrophe caused the tragic loss of countless innocent lives, leaving the land in mourning.

Yet, the Buddhists, possessing supreme divine power, chose to remain inactive in the face of this life-or-death battle, each guarding their own little corner of the world, turning a blind eye to the suffering of the world. This callous and heartless attitude is truly chilling and infuriating!
