HP Star Shining
Chapter 45
Su Xingchen was speechless. Why was she so unlucky today? Cedric's smile looked like a devil's smile to her. She hadn't even been deducted points yet.
"I'm injured and can't walk."
"You just hit me, so you can't deduct points from me."
Cedric just smiled and said nothing, watching her performance quietly.
"I'll be back right away." Su Xingchen hurriedly closed the lid of the ointment and planned to put it in Cedric's hand and run away. Fortunately, this place was not far from the lounge.
Then, something magical happened.
Because she hadn't had time to roll down her trouser legs, she saw that the purple bruises where the ointment had just been applied were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
After a short while, it became the same skin as other parts of your body.
"Cedric..." Su Xingchen held the ointment jar tightly, his eyes burning.
Such a good thing! Such a good thing... She wanted it!
It is true that most of the wizards' potions have immediate effects, but they are of strange colors and have weird tastes.
This jar didn't look like something from a wizard, and Su Xingchen had originally thought it was just an ordinary ointment. But now, she was so reluctant to return it that she even forgot to run away.
Cedric coughed twice to cover up his mistake. Su Xingchen's eyes were shining. Although she didn't say anything, her intention was too obvious.
"Give it to you."
"Thank you!" Su Xingchen hurriedly put it in his pocket, not giving him a chance to regret.
Cedric stood up and pulled Su Xingchen up with him, "Let's go."
"Where are you going?" Still want to deduct points from her?
"Send you back to Gryffindor." Cedric sometimes really wanted to pry open her brain, but he heard that her grades were very good?
"I know the way."
Cedric glanced at his half-rolled trouser leg and said, "If you meet other prefects, they won't know that your leg is injured and you can't walk." After saying that, he walked towards Gryffindor without waiting for Su Xingchen's reaction.
That makes sense, she has no excuses now.
Su Xingchen quickly rolled down his trouser legs and happily caught up with Cedric.
She was in a very happy mood. She made a lot of money.
Cedric caught a glimpse of the little girl's joyful expression and curled the corners of his mouth slightly.
Stupid, he thought.
Fortunately, they did not meet other prefects or teachers, and Su Xingchen returned to Gryffindor safely.
As soon as she entered the lounge, Harry was there too, and the three of them seemed to be waiting for her.
"Harry, didn't you go to bed?"
"It was Hagrid," Harry blurted out eagerly; they were now alone in the common room. "It was Hagrid who opened the Chamber of Secrets fifty years ago."
Su Xingchen was stunned. The final episode of the second year began.
Harry told everyone how he discovered the abnormality in Riddle's diary and how Riddle told him the truth.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron had been discussing this constantly; they all knew how much Hagrid loved large monsters. In less than two years at Hogwarts, they had already witnessed Hagrid raising a dragon and a three-headed dog named Fluffy, which had left an indelible impression on them.
They all agreed that if it were a young Hagrid, he might feel that it was too pitiful to lock a monster in the Chamber of Secrets and would want to let it out to move around.
Harry could even imagine thirteen-year-old Hagrid putting a collar and a leash on the monster, but he was also sure that Hagrid would never intentionally kill anyone.
But...what if he hadn't done it accidentally? Harry wished he hadn't discovered how to read Riddle's diary.
"Riddle might have found the wrong person," said Hermione. "Perhaps another monster did the harm."
Su Xingchen nodded and said, "Girl, you are right."
"How many monsters do you think are imprisoned in this place?" Ron asked listlessly.
No more, no less, just two.
A spider raised by Hagrid and a basilisk raised by Voldemort.
"We all know that Hagrid was expelled." Harry was also distressed, "And since Hagrid was expelled, the attacks stopped. Otherwise, Riddle wouldn't have won the school's special contribution award."
Ron bit his lip and asked Harry tentatively, "You met Hagrid in Knockturn Alley last time, right?"
"He's buying medicine to get rid of flesh-eating slugs," Harry answered quickly, and all three children fell silent.
Su Xingchen noticed that the atmosphere was a bit dull, so he said, "You know, Hagrid won't hurt anyone."
"Of course we trust Hagrid, but Star, the monster did hurt people." Hermione hesitated and asked the last question, "Do you think we should ask Hagrid?"
"That would be a lovely conversation," said Ron. "Hello, Hagrid, we were wondering if you'd let that wild, hairy thing out."
Finally they decided not to ask any questions unless there were further attacks.
Su Xingchen felt that maybe she could indirectly guide Hermione to think about the basilisk.
Days passed, and Harry was glad to never hear that creepy, ghostly whisper again.
In March, several mandrakes held a lively dance party in the third greenhouse, which made Professor Sprout very happy. "When they want to move to other pots, we will know that they are fully mature." She said to everyone, "Then we can save those petrified people in the hospital."
During the Easter holidays, the second grade students had something new to consider: they had to choose elective courses for the third grade.
"This will affect our entire future." Hermione seemed very cautious about this matter. Now the four of them gathered together to study the names of the new courses and make choices.
"I want to give up Potions," said Harry.
"Impossible." Ron was very depressed. "I have to continue with the original courses, otherwise I would have failed the Defense Against the Dark Arts class long ago."
"But that course is very important!" Hermione was surprised to hear Ron's words.
"If it's something like Lockhart's teaching, I don't think so. I haven't learned anything useful from him, except not to let the elves out."
Su Xingchen did not comment on Ron's statement.
Neville's family of wizards, both male and female, sent him letters, offering him guidance on how to choose a course. He was at a loss and nervously asked the person next to him which was more difficult: Divination or Ancient Runes.
Dean Thomas, like Harry, had grown up around Muggles, and he ended up choosing the courses he chose with his wand pointed out, eyes closed.
Percy came over eagerly and taught the four of them by example. Harry thought that Quidditch, which he was really good at, seemed to have nothing to do with the new course, so he chose the same course as Ron. This way, if the homework became difficult in the future, at least there would be someone to help each other.
Hermione checked off all the classes without following anyone's instructions.
Harry looked at Su Xingchen's class schedule again and found that there was only a lonely check mark behind the course "Care of Magical Creatures".
Just as he was about to ask, he saw Su Xingchen pitifully ticking the box behind "Divination" under Hermione's intimidating gaze.
Hermione was still not satisfied and continued to stare at her, but Su Xingchen pretended to turn her head away and refused to make a choice no matter what.
After the Easter break, Gryffindor's next game was against Hufflepuff.
Wood was so enthusiastic that the players had to train every day after dinner, so Harry had almost no time to do anything else recently except training and doing homework, but he felt that the Gryffindor team had never been as confident as they were now in winning the house cup.
The night before the match, Harry's cheerful mood vanished as soon as he returned to his dorm.
Neville said to him in a panic, "Harry, I don't know who did it, but you'd better go and check it out."
Harry pushed open the door and saw that the contents of his suitcase were scattered everywhere, his clothes were wrinkled and lying on the floor, the sheets had been pulled off the bed, the drawers had been opened, and everything inside had been turned out.
He walked towards the bed in surprise, stepping on several pages of "Walking with Monsters" that had fallen out.
As Harry and Neville made the bed, Dean and Ron came in.
"What's going on, Harry?" Ron looked carefully at Harry's clothes. All the pockets were turned inside out.
"Someone is looking for something." Harry picked up the things on the ground and threw them back into the box. He suddenly realized that something was missing.
"And he found it." He lowered his voice. "Riddle's diary is missing."
They hurried downstairs to the Gryffindor common room, which was now deserted.
Hermione was stunned to hear the news.
"But only Gryffindors would steal it. No one else could know the password."
"That's exactly right," Harry confirmed.
Xingchen was not surprised, but she didn't know who took the diary. She only knew that the diary later appeared in Voldemort's hands in the Chamber of Secrets.
Could it be Ginny?
During this period, Su Xingchen would occasionally pretend to mention casually that she hated spiders and snakes, and jokingly told Hermione that she wondered if spiders and snakes also hated each other, and hoped that they could find clues sooner.
Saturday morning was sunny and clear with a pleasant breeze blowing gently.
It was perfect weather for a Quidditch match.
Harry looked around the crowded Gryffindor table, wondering who had taken Riddle's diary.
Hermione asked him to report the theft to the school, but he didn't want to. If he did, he would have to bring up why Hagrid was expelled fifty years ago, and he didn't want this to be known to everyone.
The four of them walked together through the corridor towards the Quidditch pitch.
Harry suddenly shouted as he stepped onto the marble steps.
Su Xingchen was frightened and trembled. Ron and Hermione also jumped away from him in horror.
"That voice!" Harry turned his head in panic. "I heard that voice again! Did you hear it?"
Ron opened his eyes wide and shook his head vigorously, and Hermione suddenly slapped her forehead.
"I suddenly realized something. I need to go to the library!" Hermione said and hurried upstairs.
"What did she understand?" Harry asked panickedly, still looking around for the source of the sound.
