HP Star Shining
Chapter 154
"Miss Delacour, will you come first?" said Mr. Ollivander, walking to the center of the room.
Fleur walked over lightly and handed the wand to Mr. Ollivander. He twirled it around with his long fingers like a baton, and the wand sprayed out many pink and gold sparks.
"Nine and a half inches, very springy, maple, with a... Oh, my God..."
"A Veela hair," Fleur said. "My grandmother's hair."
Fleur was indeed part Veela, Harry thought about telling Ron when he got home, and then he remembered that Ron had stopped talking to him.
When he came to his senses, Mr. Ollivander had already handed the wand back to Fleur, "Mr. Diggory, it's your turn."
Fleur walked briskly back to her seat and gave Cedric a sweet smile as she passed him.
Harry had never seen her smile so happily. She shook her head, and her silver hair flashed with a dazzling luster.
"This is my product." Mr. Ollivander looked much more excited than before when Cedric handed him the wand. "I remember it very clearly. It contains a hair plucked from the tail of a particularly beautiful male unicorn. I plucked its hair and it almost poked a hole in me. It's twelve and a quarter inches long and in excellent condition. Do you take care of it regularly?"
"Just wiped it yesterday." Cedric said with a smile.
Harry looked down at his wand, which was covered with fingerprints.
He lifted the corner of his robe from his knees to try to surreptitiously clean his wand, but golden stars appeared on the tip of his wand and Fleur Delacour shot him a look so condescending that Harry stopped dead in his tracks.
Krum's wand is made of hornbeam wood, with a core made of dragon heart chords.
"The last one, Mr. Potter."
Mr. Ollivander's pale eyes suddenly twinkled with excitement. "Yes, yes, I remember it perfectly."
Harry remembered it clearly too.
Three years ago, on his eleventh birthday, he had walked into Mr. Ollivander's shop to buy a wand.
He felt like he had tried every wand in the shop before he found one that suited him—holly, eleven inches, with a phoenix feather inside.
The feather came from the same bird as the one in Voldemort's wand, but Harry told no one.
He loved his wand very much, and in his opinion, the relationship between this wand and Voldemort's wand was not its fault, just as he could not sever his kinship with Aunt Petunia.
However, if Mr. Ollivander let the secret slip, Rita Skeeter's shorthand quill would probably explode with excitement.
Thankfully, he only took much longer to examine it than the others before declaring the wand to be in excellent condition.
Harry took the wand and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Okay, let's take a group photo first," Rita Skeeter said, her eyes falling on Harry again. "We'll take a close-up of each of us later."
The photoshoot took a long time because no matter where Ms. Maxime stood, she blocked everyone else's view. The room was small, so the photographer couldn't stand far enough away to fit her in the frame. In the end, Ms. Maxime had to sit while the others stood around her.
After the group photo, Rita Skeeter pulled the warriors to take individual photos, and it took them a long time to get away.
The only good thing about today was that the get out of class was over for a long time and I didn't have to go back to the Potions classroom.
When Harry went to dinner, Hermione and Su Xingchen were not there. They had probably finished their meal and left.
When they returned to the dormitory, Ron pointed at Harry's pillow and said stiffly, "You have a letter."
"Okay, thank you." Harry saw the school owl waiting for him there.
"Also, we're in detention tomorrow night in Snape's dungeon." Ron said and walked out of the room without even looking at Harry.
For a moment, Harry considered whether to chase after Ron and talk to him or beat him up.
However, the letter from Sirius was too tempting for him.
Finally, he strode over to the owl and untied the letter from its foot.
"You mean, Sirius asked you to meet him on December 22nd, by the Gryffindor fireplace?" Hermione leaned over her plate and whispered to Harry.
Harry nodded.
"But how could he be in Gryffindor?"
"do not know."
"What do you think, Xingchen?" Hermione looked at the person who was eating and not participating in the discussion.
Su Xingchen knew how they met, "I think he must have his own way."
Hermione turned her head back and continued to discuss with Harry how to lead everyone away that day. Su Xingchen touched her nose embarrassedly. She knew that it was the same as not saying anything, but she couldn't say it, so it wasn't her fault.
Compared to that... She flipped through today's newspaper. The article about the Triwizard Tournament had already been published. It was more of an interview about Harry's personal life that was embellished than a report about the Triwizard Tournament.
The front page of the newspaper was almost completely occupied by Harry's solo photo, and the entire article took up four pages of his name. Fleur Delacour of Beauxbatons and Viktor Krum of Durmstrang were squeezed into the last line of the article, and Cedric didn't even have a name.
Su Xingchen snorted twice, so pitiful...
"I found an interesting report. Would you like to listen to it?" she said teasingly.
Harry and Hermione both looked over, so she cleared her throat and read aloud:
"Harry finally found his first love at Hogwarts. According to his close friend Colin Creevey, he and a girl named Hermione Granger were inseparable. Miss Granger was stunningly beautiful and was born into a Muggle family. Like Harry, she was also a top student at Hogwarts."
Harry had a bad feeling when he heard the report, and now his face was burning with shame.
"Let me see." Hermione snatched the newspaper. "I think it was my parents who gave me strength. I know that if they could see me now, they would be proud of me. Yes, sometimes I still miss them and cry at night, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. I know that nothing can hurt me because they will protect me in the dark..."
"Hermione, stop reading." Harry felt like he was going to explode with shame and anger. "I never said anything like that."
Su Xingchen buried her face in her arms, her shoulders shrugged. People who didn't know her would think she was crying, but in fact she was almost laughing to death.
She only knew that the report would be full of nonsense to attract attention, but she didn't expect it to be so nonsense to attract attention.
This report made Harry's life even worse. He had originally hoped to use the time he and Ron had spent together in detention to iron out the misunderstanding and reconcile. But that day, Rita Skeeter's report was published, and Ron was even more convinced that he was a person who loved to show off.
