HP Star Shining

Chapter 144

Dumbledore was a tall man, but he didn't have to bend down at all to kiss that large hand.

"Dumbledore." Madam Maxime's voice was a little low. "I hope you are well."

"Excellent, thank you," said Dumbledore.

"My student." Ms. Maxime raised a huge hand and waved it casually behind her.

A dozen students had already gotten off the carriage and were standing behind her.

They looked to be around eighteen or nineteen years old, dressed in fine silk robes, and were looking up at Hogwarts castle with awe on their faces.

Su Xingchen looked at them and saw that each of their bodies was trembling slightly.

Of course I would shiver. It was very cold in Hogwarts in late October and early November.

She subconsciously wrapped her cloak tightly around herself, preferring warmth to elegance.

"Is Karkaroff here?" asked Madam Maxime.

"He will be here any minute," said Dumbledore. "Would you rather wait here to greet him, or go inside and warm up first?"

Madam Maxime chose to lead her students inside, and the Hogwarts students made way for them so they could walk up the steps.

Su Xingchen looked at the group of boys and girls, thinking that she was still misled by the plot. Beauxbatons also had male students, and it was not the girls' school she thought it was.

Several students had their faces covered with scarves. I wondered which one was Furong? She had always admired strong women.

"How big do you think the Durmstrang horses are?" Seamus leaned forward and asked Harry and Ron from between Lavender and Parvati.

"If it's bigger than these horses, even Hagrid wouldn't be able to handle it," said Harry. "I mean, if he hadn't been bitten by the Blast-Ended Skrewt, I wonder what happened to them?"

Yes, Hagrid didn't come because he had some problems with his blast-end skrewt.

"Maybe he ran away," said Ron hopefully.

For the first time, Su Xingchen sincerely hoped that Ron's "crow's mouth" would work this time.

"Don't say that!" Hermione shuddered. "Think about it, those guys were crawling all over the grounds."

It seems... to make sense.

Everyone continued to wait for Durmstrang's arrival, and there was silence for a while.

Everyone was looking at the sky, and some people were already shivering with cold.

"Where?" Harry asked quietly so that only the two of them could hear.

Su Xingchen was confused. Where was that thing?

"Durmstrang," said Harry again, with a rare playful look on his face.

"I don't know." Su Xingchen pretended to be angry. It seemed that she was discovered when she looked at the sky first. What a cunning guy.

Having said that, her eyes still involuntarily turned towards the Black Lake.

Harry smiled, not caring at all about her duplicity.

Almost as soon as he looked over, he heard Ron suddenly ask, "Did you hear any noise?"

A loud, strange sound came from the darkness, a muffled rumbling sound, like a giant vacuum cleaner moving along the riverbed.

"In the lake!" Lee Jordan shouted. "Look at the lake!"

The dark water surface suddenly became no longer calm, huge splashes rose under the water in the middle of the lake, and waves hit the wet shore.

A whirlpool appeared in the center of the lake, and a long black pole slowly rose from the center of the whirlpool.

Slowly, a magnificent ship emerged from the water, shining in the moonlight.

The big ship was sailing towards the shore on the choppy lake. A heavy plop was heard, which was the sound of the anchor being dropped.

Then there was another "pop" sound, and a piece of plank was placed on the shore of the lake.

The people on the boat are coming ashore.

Silhouetted against the light from the portholes, Harry saw that these people were all roughly the same size as Goyle and Crabbe.

When they got closer, they found that they were all wearing fur cloaks, which made them look so tall and strong.

The man who led the Durmstrang students towards the castle was wearing a silvery-white fur that looked soft and downy, much like his hair.

"Dumbledore," the man called warmly as he walked up the slope. "How are you, my dear old fellow?"

"Excellent, thank you, Professor Karkaroff," Dumbledore replied.

Karkaroff's voice was mellow and sweet. He was tall and thin like Dumbledore, and his goatee with small curls at the ends did not completely cover his thin chin.

He shook Dumbledore's hand with two hands.

"Dear old fellow Hogwarts." Karkaroff looked up at the castle, his yellow teeth showing when he smiled.

Harry noticed that although Karkaroff was smiling, his eyes were not smiling at all, and remained cold and sharp.

"It's good to be here, Viktor. Come here and warm yourself up." Karkaroff motioned a student forward. "Do you mind? Dumbledore, Viktor has a slight cold..."

The striking hooked nose and thick black eyebrows made Harry recognize who it was even without Ron poking him hard in the arm.

Showing off, absolutely naked showing off.

Su Xingchen dared to guarantee that no matter who caught a cold among the crowd of people here, it couldn't be Viktor Krum.

"Harry, it's Krum!" said Ron in a tone of great shock. "I can't believe it!"

"For heaven's sake, Ron, he's just a Quidditch player."

"He's just a Quidditch player." Ron stared at Hermione in disbelief. "Hermione, he's one of the best seekers in the world. I didn't expect he's still a student."

As the Durmstrang students and Hogwarts students joined each other through the entrance hall and into the Great Hall, Lee Jordan was jumping up and down, trying to get a better look at Krum's back.

Several sixth-grade girls were walking while frantically rummaging through their pockets.

"Oh, I can't believe I didn't have a quill with me."

"Do you think he would be willing to sign my hat with lipstick?"

"That's ridiculous!" Hermione said haughtily as the four of them passed by another group of girls arguing over a lipstick.

Su Xingchen didn't dare to say anything. Hermione probably forgot what it was like when she was chasing Lockhart in her second year.

"If possible, I want to get his autographed photo." Ron vowed.

They went to sit at the Gryffindor table, Ron choosing a seat near the door, as Krum and the Durmstrang students were gathered there, seemingly unsure where to sit.

The students of Beauxbatons had already taken their seats next to the Ravenclaw table, looking around the hall with unhappy expressions.

Three of them still had their heads covered only with turbans.
