HP Star Shining
Chapter 140
One day, a new notice was posted in the entrance hall, and a large group of students gathered around the notice at the bottom of the marble staircase.
Ron was the tallest of the four. He stood on tiptoe, craned his neck, and read the notice aloud for his friends to hear:
Triwizard Tournament
Representatives from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will arrive at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30th. Afternoon classes will end half an hour early. Students are requested to return their backpacks and textbooks to the dormitories and gather in front of the castle to welcome our guests.
"Great!" said Harry. "Friday afternoon is Potions, so Snape can't poison us all."
"It's only two weeks away." Ernie Macmillan of Hufflepuff squeezed out of the crowd, his eyes sparkling. "I wonder if Cedric knows about this too? No, I'd better go and remind him!"
Since the start of the school year, Su Xingchen's busy schedule has left her with very few opportunities to interact with people from other colleges, such as Cedric and Draco, and she almost forgot about it.
"Cedric?" Ron was a little confused after Ernie hurried away.
"That's Diggory," said Harry. "He's definitely going to the Triwizard Tournament too."
"That idiot wants to be a Hogwarts Champion too?" said Ron.
At this moment, they were pushing through the chattering crowd and heading towards the Gryffindor common room.
As soon as Ron finished speaking, Harry immediately looked at Su Xingchen's expression. Sure enough, he saw her glaring at Ron and was about to say something.
"He's not an idiot. You don't like him because he beat Gryffindor in Quidditch." Hermione spoke before her. "I heard he's a very outstanding student and a prefect."
Su Xingchen nodded. That's right. Cedric is very smart.
Harry smiled. She wouldn't allow anyone to say anything bad about her friend, even if that person was another friend of hers, a friend she knew better. In that sense, Diggory was also considered a friend, just like Malfoy.
It's really not a good thing.
"You like him because he's handsome!" said Ron sharply.
"I'm sorry, I won't like someone just because he is handsome!" Hermione was very angry.
Ron pretended to cough, and the sound was odd, making him sound a lot like Gerald Lockhart.
Oh my god, these two are arguing again.
The appearance of this notice in the entrance hall had a significant impact on the people in the castle.
First, the entire Hogwarts Castle was thoroughly cleaned.
Several dirty portraits were cleaned, and the people whose faces were being cleaned were very dissatisfied. They huddled in their frames and grumbled sullenly, wincing in pain every time they touched the pink tender flesh on their faces.
The armor in the corridor became shiny and no longer made a creaking sound when moving.
Filch, the caretaker, would fly into such rage if he saw a student not clean the soles of their shoes that he scared two first-year girls into hysterics.
Even the professors at Hogwarts seemed particularly nervous.
"Longbottom, please do me a favor and don't show up in front of the people at Durmstrang and let them see that you don't even know a simple transmutation spell." Professor McGonagall shouted.
Her Transfiguration class was not going well, and Neville accidentally attached his ear to a cactus.
Su Xingchen squatted in a corner of the atrium, fiddling with a cosmos flower with her fingers. Harry, Ron, and Hermione all went to elective classes, leaving her alone.
She touched the petals with her finger, and the gorgeous cosmos began to tremble violently. After a while, when the trembling stopped, she touched it with her finger again, and the cosmos began to tremble again, looking really boring.
But in fact, Su Xingchen's mind was not on the flower at all. She was thinking about the Patronus spell and a vague but hesitant thing in her heart.
She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't even notice someone approaching from behind.
"Are you waiting for me?"
Su Xingchen moved his ears. The voice sounded familiar yet not quite familiar. It should be someone he knew but not familiar with. Who was so inconsiderate?
She stood up and turned around to see that the person who was nine or ten steps away from her and who had just spoken was Marcus Flint from Slytherin.
Thinking of what she just said, she suddenly felt nauseous as if she had eaten a fly.
"Don't talk nonsense, I didn't even know you would pass by here." Su Xingchen said expressionlessly.
Stop kidding, okay? She's crouching in this remote corner. How can she be waiting for someone? If she knew Flint would come here, she would never appear in this area alone.
"Really? You did the same thing last time."
"It was a misunderstanding last time. The person I was waiting for was not you." Su Xingchen wanted to step back, but unfortunately she was already squatting in the corner and had nowhere to retreat.
It would be foolish of her not to realize by now that Flint had come here on purpose to cause trouble.
"I'm leaving now, please make way for me, thank you."
Su Xingchen didn't know Flint very well, but she wasn't completely unfamiliar with him. Since there weren't many students around right now, she didn't intend to argue with him about this and put herself in an unsafe situation.
"Well, I agree to let you be my girlfriend." Flint took two steps forward with a slightly ferocious smile, blocking the way more effectively.
"What did you say?" Su Xingchen couldn't believe what she heard. She suspected that her ears were broken.
"I said I agree to have you as my girlfriend," Flint said again.
This was the most speechless time in Su Xingchen's life. She even forgot to be afraid. She really wanted to say to Flint: Do you want to listen to what you are saying?
The two of them were not on the same level in terms of appearance alone. Although love should not be judged by appearance, the premise is "true love"! She had no love for Flint at all.
Now the feeling was no longer something that could be described as eating a fly, it was like handfuls of maggots were stuffed into her mouth.
"Get out of the way!" Su Xingchen's tone became sharper, "I don't want a boyfriend."
"Don't be so cold. I think you need it." Flint took two more steps forward.
This distance is very unsettling.
"I told you to get out of the way, or I'll be rude!" Su Xingchen was anxious and angry.
Although she said so, she had no intention of giving Flint another chance to speak, and she reached directly into the pocket of her robe. However, as soon as she raised her hand holding the wand, someone grabbed her wrist tightly.
Flint's face showed that creepy grin again. "I've been prepared for this trick of yours. I'm not like those kids who can be easily manipulated."
Su Xingchen's face changed drastically as he was restrained, and a wave of fear came over him.
Flint knew what she would do. Pansy Parkinson had told him!
