HP Star Shining
Chapter 138
"So, don't worry about it, kid. I'm such a coward, afraid of death and pain, how could I possibly do something that would hurt myself?"
That's true, Harry thought.
but……
"You are younger than me, Xingchen." He is almost five months younger. How can you have the nerve to call him a child?
Su Xingchen was choked. She had forgotten about this. Harry knew her birthday.
The embarrassed expression and the timely rumbling of his hungry stomach made Harry laugh. "Let's go have dinner."
Su Xingchen felt embarrassed but also inexplicably toughened up, "If it weren't for you, I would be sitting at the dining table now."
"Yes, yes, it's my problem." Harry knew that Xingchen would only get angry when she felt guilty. This was what was called "making excuses", but it didn't stop him from thinking she was adorable.
Thinking that she was still keen on rubbing her head, he actually wanted to try it too, it should feel good. But he didn't dare.
Seeing the two of them walking into the hall together, Hermione looked at Ron with an expression of "I knew it", and the two seemed to have a tacit understanding.
When Neville returned to Gryffindor, he was holding a copy of "Magical Aquatic Plants of the Mediterranean and Their Properties".
Hermione, who had been busy all week, came to the three of them holding a jingling box.
When I opened the box, there were about fifty badges of different colors inside.
Su Xingchen's expression was hard to describe. Although she and Hermione were very close, that didn't mean she was willing to carry this thing around.
"Vomit?" Harry picked up one. "What does that mean?"
"It's not vomit." Hermione glared at him. "It's spew, the House-Elf Rights Association."
"Never heard of it," said Ron.
"Of course you didn't. I just started this."
"Huh?" Ron said with a slight surprise, "How many members do you have?"
"Well, there will be four if you join," Hermione said flatly.
"Are you kidding me?" Ron's mouth dropped open. "You think we want to wear a badge that says vomit on it?"
"It's SPEW!" Hermione was very annoyed.
There was a knocking sound on the window, and a snow-white owl landed on the windowsill in the moonlight.
"Hedwig!" Harry jumped up from his chair and, in two steps, opened the window.
Hedwig flew in and landed on his Divination homework.
"It brought a letter," Ron said excitedly, pointing to a crumpled piece of parchment tied to Hedwig's foot.
Harry quickly untied it and sat down to read the letter.
Hedwig flapped her wings, landed on his knees and chirped softly.
"What does it say?" Hermione held her breath, her attention drawn to the letter.
Su Xingchen secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thanking Hedwig for not having Hermione nagging her to wear the "badge".
The letter was short, as if it had been written in a hurry.
Harry read aloud:
-Harry, I'm heading north soon. I've been hearing a series of strange rumors lately, and the pain in your scar is the latest in a series. If it hurts again, please contact Dumbledore immediately. I hear he's using Mad-Eye Moody again, which means he's understood the signs. I'll contact you soon. Give my regards to Ron, Hermione, and Star. Stay alert, Harry-
Harry looked up at everyone; Hermione and Ron were looking at him too.
"He's flying north?" Hermione whispered. "He's coming back?"
"What sign did Dumbledore get?" Ron looked puzzled.
Perhaps it was a sign of Voldemort's resurrection? Su Xingchen thought.
Harry pounded his fist on his forehead, startling Hedwig into jumping off his lap.
"I shouldn't have told him!" he said angrily. "My letter made him think he had to come back. He thought I was in trouble, but I'm not at all."
"Harry," Hermione said in a soothing tone.
"I'm going to bed." Harry didn't want to say any more. "Good night."
Hermione turned her gaze to Su Xingchen and shook her head.
Harry returned to his dormitories, changed into his pajamas, and went to bed. He wasn't tired at all, and all he could think about was what he would do if Sirius was taken back to Azkaban because of him.
After a while, Harry heard Ron enter the dormitory. He didn't say anything, but lay on the bed for a long time, staring at the dark bed curtains.
The dormitory was completely silent. If Harry hadn't been so preoccupied, he would have noticed that Neville's usual snoring wasn't happening, meaning he wasn't the only one tossing and turning in bed.
Early the next morning, Harry went to the Owlery to deliver a letter to Sirius, asking him not to come back.
"You're lying, Harry." Hermione's tone was sharp at the breakfast table. "The pain from your scar isn't psychological at all, you know."
"So what?" Harry looked over. "He can't go back to Azkaban because of me."
"Stop it." Ron stopped Hermione when she opened her mouth to argue.
For the first time ever, Hermione obeyed Ron and said nothing more.
For the next two weeks, Harry tried not to worry about Sirius, though he could still glance around anxiously each morning when the owl arrived.
However, he also encountered the Hogwarts Room of Requirement during the two weeks.
Su Xingchen stroked the smooth door and couldn't help but sigh. The protagonist's treatment was truly excellent. She had previously suspected that the door she had seen three times was the Room of Requirement, but that door was ancient and heavy. The one she now held was completely different; it was the true "Room of Requirement" door.
So what kind of door is that?
What surprised Harry was that he thought Xingchen would be able to master the Patronus Charm easily, at least easier than him. After all, she had always been the fastest spell learner in Gryffindor, even faster than Hermione.
But in this matter, she seemed to be cursed and couldn't even cast the silver light of the Patronus Charm.
Su Xingchen grabbed the collar of his shirt and gasped, no, it still didn't work.
As soon as she chanted the spell of the Patronus, she couldn't think of anything happy at all.
Whether it was life in China with the Su family or life in Hogwarts with classmates, none of it was imaginable.
Only an overwhelming and endless nightmare came rushing over her, with Mr. Roberts and his family hanging upside down, and even Cedric's cold body, whom she had not yet seen.
"You know, the Patronus Charm is a difficult spell," Harry tried to comfort her. "It took me a whole semester to learn it."
But Harry knew that the first time he cast the spell, there was at least a faint silver light, unlike now, as if he was practicing on the air.
"I know." Su Xingchen nodded and accepted his comfort. "I won't be anxious."
In this way, the difficulty of learning the Patronus Charm also occupied part of Harry's mind, so that he no longer worried about Sirius all the time.
