HP Star Shining

Chapter 134

Su Xingchen blinked and put a mouthful of fried rice into his mouth. He respected but did not understand. It was a matter of mutual consent.

Although the rights of house-elves should indeed be improved, can this be changed simply by not eating?

"Alright." Headmaster Dumbledore looked at everyone with a smile, "Please pay attention, I have a few announcements to make."

"Mr. Filch, the caretaker, has asked me to inform everyone that there are a few more items prohibited in the castle this year. They include Screaming Yo-Yos, Spike Saucers, and so on. The entire list is approximately 473 items. Anyone interested can go to Filch's office to check."

Dumbledore's mouth twitched a few times. "As before, the Forbidden Forest on the other side of the grounds is off-limits to students, and students below third year are not allowed to go to Hogsmeade."

Harry glanced at Su Xingchen, but she was concentrating on eating and her expression could not be seen.

"I also have to regretfully inform you that this year's Quidditch tournament has been cancelled."

"What?!" Harry was so surprised that he couldn't think of anything else. He turned to look at George and Fred, who were also staring at Dumbledore with their mouths wide open, as if they were too excited to speak.

"This is because a major event will begin in October," Dumbledore continued. "This event, which will last for the entire school year, will occupy a lot of teachers' time and energy, but I think you will definitely have a lot of fun from it. I am very happy to announce to everyone that this year Hogwarts..."

At this moment, a deafening thunder sounded and the door of the auditorium was pushed open with a "bang".

A man stood at the door, holding a long cane and wrapped in a black cloak.

Everyone turned to look at the stranger as a flash of lightning streaked across the ceiling, illuminating him. He removed his hood, revealing his long, graying hair, and walked towards the faculty table.

"Thump, thump, thump," he walked with a limp, and with every step a hollow sound echoed in the auditorium.

Another flash of lightning streaked across the ceiling, illuminating the man's face with incredible clarity.

Hermione gasped. Harry had never seen such a face.

It looked like it was carved from a piece of rotten wood. The sculptor seemed to have only a vague concept of the human face and his craftsmanship was not very good.

Every inch of his skin looked scarred, his mouth was crooked with a big gash, and the ridges on his nose were gone.

The most terrifying thing about him was his eyes. One of his eyes was small and shiny black, while the other was large, like a round coin, and a distinct bright blue.

The blue eye did not blink, and moved up and down, left and right, completely unrelated to the normal one. Later, it even flipped into the head, leaving only a big white eyeball.

Su Xingchen raised his head while eating and almost choked on the fried rice grains. It seems that the movie still takes the audience's feelings into consideration.

Mad-Eye Moody walked up to Dumbledore and held out his hand, which was as scarred as his face. The two shook hands and spoke quietly for a few words.

Dumbledore seemed to be asking a question. Mad-Eye Moody shook his head expressionlessly and sat in the empty seat next to him at Dumbledore's gesture.

"Please allow me to introduce the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher for this school year," Dumbledore said cheerfully, breaking the silence. "Professor Moody."

Generally speaking, when a new teacher meets everyone, everyone will applaud and welcome him.

But today, apart from Dumbledore and Hagrid, no teacher or student applauded. Everyone else seemed stunned by Moody's strange appearance and just stared at him intently.

Dumbledore and Hagrid clapped their hands a few times, then realized their applause was lonely and echoing in the silent hall, so they tactfully lowered their hands. Moody seemed indifferent to everyone's cold reaction, his blue eyes constantly rolling in his sockets, observing the students in the hall.

As he raised his arm to drink from the curved flagon he had pulled from his cloak, Harry saw the trailing cloak being pulled up to reveal a carved wooden leg with a clawed foot beneath.

Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued the conversation where he had been interrupted.

"As I was saying, we will be very proud to host a wonderful event in the coming months. This event has not been held for over a century. The Three Gun Tournament will be held at Hogwarts this year."

After Dumbledore finished speaking, the silence in the hall was broken, and almost everyone laughed out loud and started chattering.

"The Triwizard Tournament was founded over seven hundred years ago as a friendly competition between the three largest wizarding schools in Europe: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. Each school selected a champion, and then the three champions competed in three magical disciplines. It was held every five years, with the three schools taking turns hosting. It was considered a great way for wizards from different countries to build friendships. However, the number of deaths later became too high, and the tournament was discontinued."

"Death toll?" Hermione looked around in astonishment.

But most of the students in the auditorium were not as nervous as she was. Most of them were whispering excitedly.

Su Xingchen was not interested in listening carefully to what Dumbledore said. She looked towards the Hufflepuff table, looking for Cedric's seat. Sure enough, he was listening very carefully to the matters concerning the Triwizard Tournament.

"We've done a lot of work this summer to ensure that no Warrior's life is in danger."

Su Xingchen mechanically began to poke her fried rice with a spoon. She believed that the professors of the school must have spent a lot of energy to ensure the safety of the competition. Unfortunately, the old man Voldemort was going to be resurrected this year.

My mood, which had eased, became depressed again.

No matter how much the students complained, Dumbledore announced the age limit of seventeen and sent the students to bed.

George and Fred were still complaining about this inhumane rule and discussing how to deceive the "truly fair referee".

Ron had a dazed look on his face. "There's a 1,000 Galleon prize for winning the competition."

"Let's go." Hermione urged, "If we don't leave now, we'll be the only ones left here."

Harry, Ron, Hermione, Su Xingchen, Fred and George walked out of the Great Hall and started walking up the stairs.

"What do you think?" Ron asked Harry. "It would be great to be able to join, wouldn't it? I imagine they want someone a little older, and I wonder if we've learned enough..."

"But so many people died." Hermione said in a worried tone.

"Yeah," George said nonchalantly, "but that was years ago, wasn't it? And what's the fun without a little adventure?"
