Love Guide for Childhood Sweethearts

Chapter 49: Ordinary Family Background

"What's your father's attitude?" Zina asked curiously, looking at Lian Ximei with bright eyes.

Lian Ximei prepared herself mentally before speaking, "My dad is a simple man, and he's a nobody. Now that he's laid off, he becomes withdrawn whenever my mom talks about divorce. He was interesting a few years ago, but now I don't dare to think about anything."

"Then haven't you found a way to find another job?" Lin Jingzhe asked with concern.

"A few years ago, I won a swimming prize and borrowed some money to sell women's headdresses. I found some laid-off women to make handmade beads, and they sold quite well in the scenic area," Lian Ximei couldn't help but sigh. "Now I live a stable life and don't think about anything else."

"Doing handicrafts?" Ye Zhenzhen looked at her in surprise.

"My dad used to work at a cotton mill, where he was a foreman. My colleagues lost their jobs, so we decided to make hair ornaments for women." Lian Ximei smiled at them and said, "Don't underestimate them. They're small investments with big profits." She added, "Women love playing with their hair." She looked at them intently and said, "If anyone needs hair ornaments, rubber bands, or anything else, just come to me."

"I can't tie up my short hair." Lin Jingzhe said as he blew up his bangs in front of his forehead.

"We can only tie our hair into ponytails and wear swimming caps all day long. We can't wear hair ornaments." Zina pulled and pulled her short hair.

"That's right." Lian Ximei took out a colorful rubber band from the drawer, unwrapped it, and threw it to Qi Na and Ye Zhenzhen, saying, "Take it and use it!"

"How much?" Ye Zhenzhen asked with a smile.

"This thing is not valuable, just take it if I give it to you. If you talk to me about money, I will be angry!" Lian Ximei said angrily.

"Then we won't be polite." Ye Zhenzhen smiled and put the rubber band into the drawer.

Lin Jingzhe glanced at them gently. They were all children from ordinary families.

"Take a shower, take a shower, and go to bed." Zina stood up and looked at them and said, "I'll take a shower first!"

"Go! I'll be the last one to go. I'll read for a while first." Lin Jingzhe pointed to the textbook on the desk.

"You're still reading!" Ye Zhenzhen looked at her in surprise.

"It's not lights out yet!" Lin Jingzhe looked at her with his bright dark brown eyes, and said, looking at his phone, "We can still watch for an hour."

"I'm really impressed by you." Ye Zhenzhen admired sincerely.

"If you don't read books, what are you reading? Let's just stare at each other!" Lin Jingzhe looked at them with amusement and said, "Do whatever you want, don't worry about me."

"I'm going to take a shower." Zina took her spare clothes and went into the bathroom.

It seems like there’s nothing to do outside except reading. There’s a washing machine for dirty clothes!

After taking a shower, they would study with textbooks and exercise books.

Lin Jingzhe curled up the corners of his lips and smiled, hoping that they could hold on.

The autumn wind was blowing, and the south of the Yangtze River finally became much cooler. Lin Jingzhe and his companions also set out on their journey.

It was a very novel experience for Lin Jingzhe. They took a bus to Jinling.

It was a journey of more than 200 kilometers and more than three hours’ drive, and we arrived three days ahead of schedule.

We checked into the guesthouse at noon so we didn’t miss lunch.

After eating and drinking, I took a short rest, went to the swimming pool to adapt to the venue, and continued training.

After dinner, Lin Jingzhe and Qi Na returned to the room, sharing a standard double room.

Zina sat on the bed still training, "Are you nervous?"

"It's okay!" Lin Jingzhe said cheerfully while exercising.

"You usually have good grades, no wonder you are not nervous!" Zina said enviously.

"There's no point in being nervous! Just swim." Lin Jingzhe blinked his clear peach blossom eyes and looked at her. To ease her nervousness, he said truthfully, "I'm also trying to overcome it."

"Have you thought about what to say when you get the gold medal?" Zina asked her curiously.

"No!" Lin Jingzhe looked at her with pure eyes and said with a smile on his lips, "You still want this! It's a youth competition, who would ask us?"

"That's right!" Zina said sheepishly, "What if we don't win the gold medal? The others are also very strong."

"Of course I'm happy if you got it. If you didn't, you'll try harder next time." Lin Jingzhe looked at her with clear eyes and said.

"You have such a good attitude." Zina's mouth twitched when she heard that. "Don't forget, if you miss it, it's gone."

Lin Jingzhe blinked and said embarrassedly, "I forgot that I'm getting older. I won't be able to participate next time."

"Haha..." Zina looked at her and smiled, "You are really good."

"Then keep working hard and participate in other competitions." Lin Jingzhe looked at her with his bright amber eyes.

"I'm afraid I'll lose too much and have no chance." Zina looked at her anxiously and said.

"This..." Lin Jingzhe's glaring black eyes looked at her nervously. This wouldn't do. "Is anyone coming to watch your game?"

"No, I haven't told my family." Zina shook her head slightly. "What's the point of telling them? It won't help, and on the contrary..." She slammed on the brakes and changed the subject, "What about you?"

"I told my family, but they didn't let them come over. I was scared and nervous under their gaze." Lin Jingzhe shivered as he shrank his neck.

"Haha..." Zina was amused by her appearance.

"Don't think too much. Just think of it as daily training. If we perform normally, our results will not be bad." Lin Jingzhe comforted her.

"Oh!" Zina took a deep breath and tried to relax herself.

After a simple aerobic exercise, I was covered in a thin layer of sweat. It was almost time, so I took a shower, turned off the lights, and went to bed.

Zina was like a pancake, tossing and turning and unable to fall asleep.

"I can't sleep!" Lin Jingzhe said, turning sideways to face the bulge on the bed in the dark.

"I'm sorry for waking you up. Go back to sleep! I won't move anymore." Zina said embarrassedly, moved a little, and lay down.

Lin Jingzhe turned off the lamp on the bedside table, stood up, grabbed her arm and said, "I'll press this acupuncture point for you to help you fall asleep quickly."

Zina looked at her with wide eyes and said, "Really? Fake?"

"I haven't used it. I've always had good sleep quality." Lin Jingzhe sat on the edge of the bed and looked at her and said, "You'll know if you try it." He said while pressing the acupoints.

About a quarter of an hour later, Zina yawned and fell asleep.

Lin Jingzhe tiptoed back to bed, covered himself with a thin blanket, and said in surprise, his eyes bright in the darkness, "So effective?"

"Of course, this system can't fool you." The system's electronic voice appeared in Lin Jingzhe's mind, and then it continued seriously, "Haven't you tried it? It relieves the soreness after training. Let you be full of energy the next day."

"You are finally of some use!" Lin Jingzhe said casually.
