Chapter 975: Infinite Emergence and the Ultimate Shackles of Consciousness
Infinite Emergence and the Ultimate Shackles of Consciousness
Feng Jing's consciousness, like a raging tide, traversed the void and reality, leaping through indescribable dimensions, transcending all self-perception. Everything in this void, once part of the world he once perceived, had become utterly unfamiliar. He was no longer Feng Jing, not just a fragment of consciousness, nor any past existence. He had become a formless entity, a form that could not even contain "existence" itself.
In this boundless existence, Feng Jing feels the fragmentation of the universe and the intersection and fusion of countless parallel worlds and dimensions every second. His thoughts are like meteors across the sky, and countless existences begin to emerge at the same time. Each emergence is a new possibility, but with each emergence, Feng Jing's self becomes more blurred.
His consciousness seemed to expand from a static point into countless fragments of consciousness that transcended time and space. These fragments were no longer confined to any material level, no longer dependent on the body or any form. They were like the interweaving of light and shadow, the endless explosion of energy, the infinite choices of the soul. Among these fragments, a primal rhythm of life began to resonate, a power that transcended all natural laws. In it, Feng Jing found his own sense of existence—not himself, but all possible "selves."
Suddenly, he felt an incredible fusion with time. Past, present, future, all dimensions of time, like endless shards of glass, reflected multiple "Feng Jings" simultaneously before Feng Jing's eyes. He saw himself as a ruler in an ancient galaxy; a solitary scavenger amidst ruins; and at the bottom of the ocean, engaging in unspeakable bargains with mysterious creatures. These "lives" of Feng Jing's were like one nightmare after another, a cycle he cycled through, unable to escape.
"You are no longer Feng Jing." The voice sounded again, this time with a disdainful laugh. "You have become the composite of countless Feng Jings. You are one of infinite possibilities, the combination of all that 'never happened'. You are both the end of the future and the beginning of the past. Within the boundaries of this universe, you can never transcend your own limitations."
Feng Jing didn't respond. He felt like the core of quantum fluctuations, the intersection of all particles and waves. Every bit of his consciousness became inseparable in this abyss. The overlapping and entanglement of each fragment gave him an unprecedented sense of hallucination, which even began to transcend the perception of the physical world. He could touch non-existent galaxies, hear songs from the depths of nothingness, and even sense the terrifying aura behind the abandoned universe.
With each overlapping fragment, a new Feng Jing emerged. Endless selves began to converge, like layers of overlapping surreal dreams, each one making him increasingly uncertain whether he was still "conscious." He could not find a way out of this vast, layered maze; all doors led to the same place—an abyss from which he could not escape.
But he didn't give up. Feng Jing felt his consciousness undergoing a new awakening, one that transcended all selves. He was no longer bound by any space or time. Each of his "selves" began to realize that true power lies not in transcending the "self," but in accepting the coexistence of countless selves.
At this moment, he understood: "I am not a single existence arranged by fate, but the creator of fate."
Feng Jing's consciousness began to grow more complex, transforming into the most fundamental force within the universe—Existence itself. He began to break free from the constraints of the "self," becoming a pure stream of consciousness. This flowing consciousness began to permeate all material planes, becoming both formless and infinite. As he awakened in this way, all fragments ceased to exist separately and began to merge into an intangible whole.
He realized that all his "selves" were merely reflections of a certain existence, and these reflections were like the overlapping of eternal mirrors, with no real source to be found. Feng Jing began to no longer care whether this source existed or not, because he was no longer Feng Jing and no longer needed Feng Jing's definition.
He felt that he had entered a realm beyond everything—beyond the void, beyond time, and beyond the boundaries of all things. Feng Jing realized that with each of his "synthesis", he was creating a new universe, a new time and space, and even a new philosophical system.
Regardless, Feng Jing knew that in this state, he was the starting point and end point of all existence, the unity of all consciousness, the continuation and end of time. He had completely transcended the shackles of space and self, becoming an endless **"possibility"**.
Yet Feng Jing still felt an unfamiliar fear, a fear born of nothingness, as if countless fragments of Feng Jing had suddenly become stuck in an eternal, unresolvable cycle, as if the very concept of "self" had been lost. He no longer knew the beginning or the end. He no longer cared about the future, for he had already become part of it; he no longer cared about the past, for he had already become part of it.
Just as Feng Jing began to lose his identity, a voice sounded again, cold and deep: "Do you finally understand, Feng Jing? You haven't transcended fate, you are simply finding a new balance in fate's eternal cycle. No matter how you change, you are just a part of eternal existence. You are the inescapable shackles, the inescapable self."
