Time Travel: He is My Dad!

Chapter 1: First Encounter

First meeting

When He Qingqing woke up, it was already dawn, and the sounds of insects and birdsong filled her ears. She slowly opened her eyes and found herself lying on an unfamiliar bed, surrounded by a very simple wooden house. The bright sunlight shone through the window, shining on her face with a slight warmth. She frowned, feeling dizzy, and her head was a tangled mess.

"Where is this place?" she whispered to herself, her voice a little hoarse.

This wasn't her first time traveling through time. A few months ago, she was still a struggling career woman in a modern city, her busy life filled with meetings, phone calls, and overtime. But then a sudden car accident thrust her into this unfamiliar world. She remembered nothing back then, only that when she woke up, she was no longer the He Qingqing she once was. Instead, she was a woman named He Qingqing, immersed in an ancient society that seemed utterly alien to the modern world.

Her head still groggy, she slowly recalled the night before: she had been escorted into this shabby little hut by a group of peasants in coarse cloth, their identities never even explained. A blurry face flashed through her memory—a middle-aged man in tattered official robes, his eyes piercing, as if he could see through everything. She couldn't quite recall what he had said to her, only vaguely remembering him mentioning "return home."

At this moment, He Qingqing had no idea where she was, only that she had become an ordinary peasant girl. She subconsciously reached for her chest, only to find that her clothes were shabby and buttoned tightly, clearly not fitting her "modern woman" temperament and habits. Her heartbeat quickened, and she finally regained consciousness.

She sat up and found the room empty. Sunlight streamed through the cracks in the window, illuminating the firewood piled in the corner and the simple furniture. She frowned slightly, wondering how she had arrived in this place from the modern era, but a sense of unease welled up in her heart.

Just then, there was a sound of footsteps at the door, and then a middle-aged woman walked in, her face full of concern: "Qingqing, are you up?"

He Qingqing was slightly startled, staring at the woman before her. Her features were ordinary, but her face held a familiar warmth. Before she could react, the woman had already walked over to the bed and touched her forehead with concern. "You fainted in the fields yesterday, so your grandmother and I brought you back to rest. You were unconscious all night. How are you feeling now? Are you still a little dizzy?"

"I..." He Qingqing's throat was dry, and she whispered, "I'm fine."

She tried to stand up, but her body felt heavy and her limbs weak, she didn't even have the strength to stand. The woman quickly reached out to support her: "Don't worry, take your time, your body hasn't recovered yet." After she finished speaking, she turned to the table nearby and brought back a bowl of porridge, saying softly: "Drink some hot porridge first to warm your stomach."

He Qingqing took the bowl, her mind growing more confused. She vaguely remembered being transported to a completely unfamiliar place and becoming a member of this family, yet she had no idea what was going on. She glanced around at the shabby rooms and furniture, feeling a sense of unfamiliar warmth and discomfort.

"I..." She hesitated, never asking about her true identity. She subconsciously felt that the answer to this question might be much more complicated than she imagined.

"What's wrong with you?" the woman asked worriedly, noticing her hesitation. "Are you having trouble remembering things? If so, take a break and let Grandma explain it to you later."

He Qingqing was stunned. Grandma? She seemed to remember an old woman who was always around her, caring for her and taking care of her, as if all the warmth in the world came from her. He Qingqing was silent for a while, and finally nodded: "Okay, I'll rest for a while."

She suppressed her inner doubts and swallowed the porridge. As each mouthful of warm porridge slid down her throat, her body gradually regained some strength. She began to carefully examine everything in front of her. This place seemed not as simple as she had imagined.

After a while, there was a quick knock on the door, and then an old lady walked in. Her hair was white, but her expression was still gentle and kind. She looked at He Qingqing on the bed, and a complicated look flashed in her eyes: "Qingqing, how do you feel? Are you dizzy?"

He Qingqing stared at the old woman in front of her. Suddenly, her heart trembled, and an inexplicable sense of familiarity surged over her. She didn't answer, but asked softly, "Grandma, what's my name?"

The old woman was stunned for a moment, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes. After a moment, she sighed and slowly said, "You are He Qingqing, the only granddaughter in the family. Your parents are... gone, and you only have me and your grandmother to rely on. You don't remember, right?"

"I..." A face suddenly flashed in He Qingqing's mind. It was a blurry man's face, with a stern expression and cold eyes. Her heart skipped a beat. The world didn't seem as simple as she had imagined.

That face seemed to be deeply engraved in her memory, yet it seemed untouchable.

Her parents? Her family? What was her place and identity in this world? Who was she? All of this was waiting for her to uncover.

Just as she was lost in thought, there was a loud sound of horse hooves outside. The old woman suddenly became nervous: "It's not good, there are distinguished guests outside, you should quickly pack up and get ready." She said to He Qingqing in an anxious tone.

He Qingqing was a little confused, then came to her senses: "Distinguished guest? Who is it?"

"Your father." Before the old woman finished her words, she turned around and walked out in a hurry, leaving He Qingqing sitting alone on the bed, her heart full of confusion and anxiety.

Her father? That man… that man with a blurry face, was actually her father?
