Rise of the Otherworld.
Chapter 882 Fear and Exploration of the Unknown
The massive figure gradually became clearer, and everyone could finally see it was a behemoth, a beast as large as a mountain. Its body was covered in rough scales, each one gleaming with a cold, metallic gleam. In the dim light, that cold light seemed especially eerie, like a glimmer from hell. Its eyes were like flaming balls of fire, emitting a blazing rage that seemed capable of incinerating everything. From its bloody maw, massive fangs jutted like razor-sharp swords, each one terrifying, as if capable of rendring the world apart.
Everyone retreated in terror. Zhang Hao, suppressing his inner fear, shouted, "Don't panic, everyone! Find shelter first!" His voice trembled, but he managed to remain calm. His eyes were firm. Despite his fear, he knew he had to step forward and lead everyone.
The woman pulled the little girl along, following the crowd as they ran toward a large rock. Their steps were hurried, the woman's face filled with panic, and the little girl's sobs, frightened, were particularly shrill in the vast wilderness. Their clothes were torn by thorns as they ran, blood staining the corners of their clothes, but they no longer cared.
The mysterious man peeked at the giant beast from the cracks in the rocks, frowning, "What kind of monster is this?" His voice was low and full of doubt, and his eyes revealed fear and curiosity about the unknown.
Ling Yu said in a trembling voice: "I have never seen such a terrible creature. Are we going to die here?" His body kept shaking, like a fallen leaf in the autumn wind, which could fall at any time.
The old man gasped, "Don't panic, there may be a way to deal with it." Although his voice was weak, it was firm, trying to bring a glimmer of hope to everyone.
Just then, the beast seemed to discover their hiding place and approached with heavy steps. The ground shook violently with its footsteps, as if there had been a powerful earthquake. Every step it took raised a cloud of dust that formed a sandstorm, obscuring the sky and the sun.
"Oh no, it's coming!" Zhang Hao gripped his sword tightly, ready to fight to the death. His hands were sweaty from nervousness, and the sword was slipping a little in his hand, but his eyes were extremely determined, as if he was ready to sacrifice himself.
The woman hugged the little girl tightly, her eyes filled with despair. Her tears continued to flow, dripping onto the little girl's hair. "Baby, don't be afraid. Mommy will protect you." Her voice was tearful, yet filled with maternal love.
Just as the beast was about to approach the rock, a sharp bird cry suddenly echoed from the sky. Everyone looked up and saw a gigantic, divine bird flying towards them. Its feathers were ablaze with color, emitting a divine light. That light, like the first rays of dawn, instantly illuminated the dark land.
The bird swooped down towards the beast, engaging in a fierce battle. The beast roared and swung its claws, trying to grab the bird. The bird attacked with its sharp claws and beak, each strike carrying such force that the beast retreated repeatedly.
Everyone was stunned by this sudden change and was at a loss for what to do. Their eyes were fixed on the fierce battle, their hearts filled with anticipation and fear.
"This is our chance! Let's get out of here while they're fighting!" the old man shouted. His voice broke everyone's stupor, instantly bringing them back to their senses.
Everyone nodded and cautiously left from behind the rock, running off into the distance. Their footsteps were light and swift, not daring to make any noise for fear of attracting the beast's attention.
They ran for a long time, until they could no longer hear the sounds of the giant beast and the divine bird, and then they stopped. Everyone was panting heavily, as if they had just experienced a life-and-death race.
"Where are we?" Ling Yu looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, his face filled with confusion. His eyes were filled with helplessness and fear. The land was desolate and silent, without a trace of life. In the distance were rolling black mountains, shrouded in a strange mist, like a ghost, which made people shudder.
"No matter what, let's move forward and see if we can find a way out," Zhang Hao said. His voice was tired but still firm.
The group continued to move forward, cautiously following the path, alert to any dangers that might arise. The ground beneath their feet was hard and rugged, making each step difficult.
As they walked, they found an ancient castle in front of them. The castle walls were tall and thick, covered with traces of time and mottled with moss. The castle gate was closed tightly, as if guarding some secret.
"This castle looks mysterious. Should we go in?" the woman asked.
"Let's go in and take a look. Maybe there's something we need inside." said the mysterious man.
Everyone hesitated for a moment, and finally decided to enter the castle...
