Chapter 792 Behind the Stone Gate (2)

Finally, they approached the stone door. Zhang Hao swung his sword with all his might, forcing back several monsters and buying everyone a moment's respite. He gasped for breath, but his eyes remained firm and sharp. "Quick, open this door!" he shouted, his voice filled with urgency.

The woman and the mysterious man immediately stepped forward, searching for a way to open the stone door. Their hands groped over it, hoping to find a mechanism or rune. Beads of sweat covered the woman's forehead, trickling down her cheeks and onto the ground. The mysterious man frowned, intently searching for any possible way to open it.

The old man held the little girl tightly, watching the monsters around him with vigilance. His heartbeat was so fast that it seemed to jump out of his throat, but he still straightened his spine, giving the little girl a sense of security.

"There's a groove here!" the woman exclaimed in surprise, her voice tinged with excitement and hope.

The mysterious man quickly placed a jade pendant in his hand into the groove. With a loud bang, the stone door slowly opened. An old aura gushed out from the door, carrying with it the vicissitudes of time and an unknown mystery.

Without giving it any time to think, everyone rushed in. Their footsteps echoed in the empty stone chamber, carrying a hint of panic and eagerness.

Inside the doorway lay a spacious stone chamber, its walls inlaid with faintly glowing gemstones. Like stars in the night sky, those gemstones twinkled with a mysterious light, bringing a hazy illumination to the otherwise dark chamber. However, before they could take a closer look, the stone door slowly began to close again.

"Oh no! Those monsters are coming!" the herbalist shouted in terror. His voice was sharp and trembling, filled with fear of the impending danger.

Zhang Hao used all his strength to push against the stone door, trying to stop it from closing, but to no avail. His muscles tensed, veins bulging, but he still couldn't resist the stone door's tendency to close.

Just as the stone door was about to close completely, several monsters thrust their claws in, and everyone quickly swung their swords to cut them off. Blood splattered everywhere, splashing onto the stone door and everyone, adding a touch of gore and terror.

With a loud bang, the stone door closed completely, isolating the monsters outside. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed to the ground. As if all the strength had been drained from their bodies, they gasped for breath, trying to calm their nervousness.

"What on earth is this place?" the little girl asked in a trembling voice. Her eyes were filled with fear and confusion as she clutched the old man's clothes tightly.

Zhang Hao stood up and looked around. "No matter what, let's first look for other exits." Although his voice was tired, it was still full of determination.

They searched around in the stone chamber and found a yellowed ancient book on a stone platform. The cover of the book was worn and the paper was yellowed, giving off an ancient atmosphere.

Zhang Hao carefully picked up the ancient book and gently opened it. The words on it were ancient and obscure. Those words were like mysterious symbols, making people feel puzzled.

"What's written on it?" the woman asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.

The mysterious man studied it carefully and said, "This seems to be a record about this place. Maybe we can find a clue to get out." His voice was low and serious, and his fingers gently stroked the words on the ancient book.

At that moment, the stone chamber suddenly began to shake violently, and rocks kept falling from above. "Oh no! This is going to collapse!" the old man exclaimed, his voice filled with fear and anxiety.

Everyone was in a panic, not knowing what to do. The little girl started crying out of fear, and the old man held her tightly in his arms, trying to comfort her.

Zhang Hao shouted loudly: "Everyone calm down and find a safe place to hide!" His voice echoed in the shaking stone chamber, bringing a sense of calm to everyone.

They searched for a place to hide and found a relatively sturdy stone niche in a corner of the stone chamber. They all hid in the niche and huddled together.

Stones kept falling, hitting the ground with loud noises. The entire stone chamber seemed to be destroyed, filled with the breath of death.

"Will we die here?" the herbalist said in despair.

"Don't talk nonsense, we will definitely find a way out!" Zhang Hao said firmly.

Just when they felt desperate, the shaking suddenly stopped and everything returned to calm.

Everyone cautiously walked out of the niche, their hearts filled with doubts and uneasiness...
