Chapter 782: Survival from Desperate Situation (5)

"What...what should I do?" the woman said desperately. Her voice trembled in the wind, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness. Tears welled up in her eyes, and her body trembled slightly with extreme fear and exhaustion.

Zhang Hao gazed at the cliff, lost in thought. Just then, the voice of the man in black came from behind him, drawing closer, tinged with cold murderous intent. "They're out there! Don't let them get away!" The voice echoed in the narrow passage like a death curse.

"It seems we have no way out," the old man sighed helplessly, his face pale. His eyes were filled with despair, and his once straight spine was slightly bent at this moment, as if crushed by the weight of fate.

The mysterious man looked determined and said, "There will always be a way." His voice was steady and powerful, as if he could still remain calm and rational in this desperate situation.

Zhang Hao gritted his teeth and said, "Don't panic, let's see if there is a place we can go down." His eyes quickly swept across the edge of the cliff, not missing any glimmer of hope.

Everyone was searching around the cliff when the little girl suddenly shouted, "There seem to be some vines there!" Her voice was clear and loud, standing out in the tense atmosphere.

Everyone looked in the direction the little girl pointed, and sure enough, they saw several thick vines hanging down from the cliff. Those vines swayed gently in the wind, as if waving to them.

"This may be our only chance of survival," Zhang Hao said. A hint of determination flashed in his eyes, as if he had already made a decision.

The herbalist looked embarrassed, "But this is too dangerous. What if the vines can't bear our weight..." His voice trembled, full of fear and worry.

"There's no time to hesitate. The men in black are coming soon!" The mysterious man interrupted him. His eyes were filled with anxiety, and he had already clenched his weapon, ready to respond to the men in black's attack at any time.

Zhang Hao took the lead and grabbed a vine. "I'll go down and take a look first." After saying that, he slowly climbed down the vine. His movements were cautious, and every step was full of caution.

The others looked at him nervously, their hearts in their throats. The woman covered her mouth tightly with both hands, afraid she would scream out loud. The old man prayed silently in his heart, hoping that Zhang Hao would be safe.

Zhang Hao climbed down carefully when a bird suddenly flew past him, startling him so much that he almost dropped his grip. "Zhang Hao, be careful!" the woman couldn't help but shout, her voice filled with concern and nervousness.

Fortunately, Zhang Hao managed to steady himself and continued to descend. His forehead was covered in sweat, which slid down his cheeks and dripped into the endless abyss.

After a while, Zhang Hao's voice came from below, "You can come down, everyone be careful!" There was a hint of fatigue in his voice, but more of hope.

Everyone took turns grabbing the vines and began to climb down. The woman's climb was extremely difficult, and blisters formed on her hands. Every movement caused her to feel excruciating pain, but she gritted her teeth and persevered.

"Hold on!" the old man encouraged from above, his voice filled with concern and heartache.

Just then, the man in black chased to the edge of the cliff.

"Don't let them get away!" shouted the leading man in black, with a ferocious smile on his face, as if he had seen the dawn of victory.

The situation became critical as some men in black tried to cut the vines.

The mysterious man cast a spell from above, temporarily blocking the attack of the man in black. His spell shone brightly, colliding with the man in black's weapon and producing dazzling sparks.

Finally, everyone reached the bottom of the cliff safely.

"Hurry up!" Zhang Hao shouted, his voice filled with urgency as he led everyone forward.

They ran desperately through the valley, the shouts of the men in black constantly echoing behind them. The fog thickened the valley, blurring their vision. The road beneath their feet was rugged, filled with thorns and gravel, but they dared not slow down.

After running for an unknown amount of time, they came to a river.

"The river is so turbulent, how can we get across?" The herbalist looked at the surging water, his heart filled with despair. There was a hint of tears in his voice, as if he had seen his own end.

"Let's build a raft!" Zhang Hao said, his voice firm and decisive, without the slightest hesitation.

They acted quickly, found some wood, and made a simple raft. Their hands were cut by the wood, and the blood stained the wood red, but they had no time to care about the pain.

They boarded a raft and floated down the river.

However, the river was full of hidden reefs, and the raft was swaying in the river. Every collision made their hearts jump to their throats.

"Everyone be careful!" Zhang Hao struggled to control the raft's direction. Veins bulged in his arms from the exertion, and sweat soaked his clothes.

At this moment, a huge wave hit and the raft was lifted high...
