Chapter 662 Life and Death (1)
The powerful energy sent everyone flying backward, slamming hard against the stone wall before falling heavily to the ground. Zhang Hao felt as if his internal organs had shifted, and the excruciating pain washed over him like a tide, nearly causing him to faint. His clothes were tattered, his body covered in blood and dust, and he looked utterly miserable.
A woman lay nearby, blood oozing from the corner of her mouth, her eyes blurry. Her long hair was disheveled across her face, and she looked exceptionally haggard. "Zhang Hao..." she called weakly, her voice like a candle in the wind, ready to go out at any moment.
The herbalist groaned in pain, unable to move. His arms twisted, his face a pained expression. "What should I do? Are we going to die here?"
The old man and the black-robed man were also in poor condition, their breathing disordered. The old man's face was as pale as paper, and he was gasping for breath. "I didn't expect this cave master to have such a powerful trick up his sleeve after his death." The black-robed man's staff had broken, and he leaned weakly against the stone wall, his eyes filled with despair.
Zhang Hao endured the excruciating pain and struggled to his feet. Every movement was accompanied by piercing pain, but his eyes remained firm. "Everyone, hold on!" His voice was hoarse but firm, like a ray of hope ignited in the darkness.
However, the aftermath of that energy still raged through the cave, whipping up gusts of wind and sending sand and rocks flying. The howling wind, like the roar of a demon, was terrifying. The sand and rocks struck the body like sharp needles, pricking every inch of skin.
"If this continues, we'll all die here!" the old man shouted, his voice filled with fear and helplessness.
Zhang Hao looked around and found a narrow passage not far away, perhaps their only chance of survival. The entrance to the passage was shrouded in shadow, making it difficult to see what was inside, but they could not afford to hesitate.
"Go that way!" Zhang Hao shouted, rushing towards the passage first. His steps were staggering, but he didn't stop for a moment.
The others also tried to keep up, each step incredibly difficult. The woman gritted her teeth, struggled to her feet, and limped along behind. The herbalist struggled to crawl along the ground, trying to get closer to the passage.
Just as they were about to enter the passage, a huge rock fell from the cave ceiling, blocking their way. The rock was so huge that it was like a small mountain, standing in front of them.
"No!" the herbalist cried desperately. His voice was filled with despair and unwillingness.
Zhang Hao gritted his teeth and said, "Let's push it away together!" His voice was full of determination.
The men used their last bit of strength to push the stone. Their arms trembled and sweat poured down, but the stone did not budge.
"Come on!" Zhang Hao shouted, his face flushed red and his muscles tensed.
Thanks to their efforts, the stone finally moved slowly, and every inch of movement seemed to take a century.
But at this moment, the energy impact became more and more intense, and the entire cave began to collapse. Stones from the cave ceiling continued to fall, and huge cracks appeared in the ground.
"Hurry!" Zhang Hao roared, his voice drowned out by the sound of the collapse.
One by one, they entered the passage, trailing behind them a constant stream of falling boulders and billowing clouds of dust. The passage was dark and narrow, filled with unknown dangers. From time to time, water dripped down the wall, making a dripping sound that was particularly clear in the silence.
Suddenly, several forked roads appeared ahead, each filled with a mysterious atmosphere that made people shudder.
"Which way?" the woman asked anxiously, her voice trembling with fear.
Zhang Hao relied on his intuition and chose one of them. "This one!"
They stumbled and ran in the passage, with only one belief in their hearts - to survive. The passage was filled with a foul smell and the ground under their feet became slippery.
After running for an unknown amount of time, Zhang Hao finally saw a glimmer of light ahead. The light was faint and warm, like salvation in the darkness.
"It's the exit!" he shouted excitedly, his voice full of joy and hope.
As if they saw hope, the crowd quickened their pace. Their hearts were filled with anticipation, as if they had seen the dawn of life.
However, just as they were about to reach the exit, a powerful airflow attacked from behind. Like a ferocious beast, the airflow swallowed them up in an instant.
"Ah!" everyone exclaimed.
Their bodies were swept up by the air currents and fell heavily. Zhang Hao felt his vision go black and he lost consciousness...
