Chapter 619: The Siege of the Statues

One after another, statues awoke, their steps heavy and bearing a chilling aura, advancing towards the crowd. Each statue resembled a giant beast awakened from its ancient slumber, emanating an immense pressure. Zhang Hao and the others stood back to back, forming a defensive circle, their gazes warily fixed. Their breathing quickened, their hearts pounding like drums, the tense atmosphere seemingly freezing the very air.

"Everyone, stay calm! Maintain your formation!" Zhang Hao shouted, his voice echoing through the empty space. His gaze was as firm as steel, his sword gripped tightly, ready to meet the statues' attack at any moment. Sweat streamed from his forehead and dripped down his cheeks, but his gaze never left the approaching statues.

The woman's heartbeat raced. She gripped the dagger tightly, her palms slick with sweat. "There are so many! Can we handle this?" Her voice trembled. Her eyes were filled with fear, yet also with a hint of stubbornness, unwilling to give up easily.

The black-robed man took a deep breath. "Let's fight! As long as we work together, we have a chance!" He brandished his staff, ready to unleash a powerful spell. His eyes gleamed with determination, and the gem on the staff shone with a mysterious light, as if accumulating powerful power.

The old man's gaze was firm. "Everyone, pay attention to the statue's movements and look for any flaws!" His voice was steady and powerful, bringing a sense of reassurance to everyone. He held his staff firmly in his hand, ready to respond to any emergency.

The statues drew closer, brandishing their massive fists and weapons, stirring up gusts of wind. The sound was like the howling of ghosts and wolves, chilling to the bone. Zhang Hao rushed forward, his sword piercing a statue like lightning. His movements were swift and sharp, and the sword collided with the statue, sending sparks flying. His body arced through the air, dodging the statue's counterattack, and then attacked again.

The black-robed figure cast a spell, sending a ball of fire hurtling towards the statues, temporarily blocking their advance. The flames burned fiercely, seemingly consuming everything. A hint of fatigue crossed the black-robed figure's face, but his gaze remained steadfast as he continued to cast spells.

The herbalists took the opportunity to throw some hidden weapons made of herbs, which hit the statues with a "ding-dong" sound. Although those hidden weapons could not cause substantial damage to the statues, they did interfere with their movements to a certain extent.

However, the statues didn't retreat, but instead attacked even more fiercely. One statue's giant palm slapped the woman, who narrowly dodged it but was still knocked to the ground by the palm wind.

"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted, turning around and slashing at the statue's arm. His sword was as powerful as the wind, instantly severing the statue's arm.

The old man waved his staff, and a ray of light shot towards the statue's legs, causing its movements to slow down slightly.

Under the fierce resistance of the crowd, several statues were knocked to the ground, but more statues continued to pour in. They seemed endless and made people feel despair.

"This won't work! We'll run out of energy!" the herbalist said anxiously. His voice was filled with anxiety, and sweat dripped from his forehead.

At this moment, Zhang Hao discovered that there seemed to be some kind of pattern between the actions of these statues.

"Follow me and disrupt their rhythm!" Zhang Hao shouted, then rushed in one direction. His figure shuttled among the statues, nimbly avoiding their attacks.

The others followed closely behind, and under Zhang Hao's leadership, they shuttled between the statues. Their movements were swift and agile, and they engaged in a thrilling chase with the statues.

For a moment, the statues' attacks became disorganized, and the pressure on everyone eased slightly. But they all knew that this was only a temporary relief, and the real crisis was not over yet.

The statues seemed enraged, their attacks becoming even more frantic. A gigantic statue swung a massive stone pillar and smashed it towards the crowd.

"Get out of the way!" Zhang Hao shouted and pushed the woman beside him away.

The stone pillar hit the ground, splashing up a cloud of rubble.

In this dangerous environment, everyone continues to deal with the statues...
